Eva Longoria needs to just STFU!

Latino actress and illegal immigrant activist Eva Longoria has been saying illegal immigrants don't cost U.S. taxpayers any money. She needs to keep her mouth shut before she has the facts. Here is exhibit A:

"Medicare payments to health care providers for services rendered to illegal aliens totaled more than $91.6 million from 2009 to 2011, a new report released by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General revealed." -Daily Caller

New York Governor Spitzer still stuck on stupid!

First it was the announcement on Friday that New York would be issuing drivers licenses to illegal immigrants. Now the Dumbocratic Governor of New York Idiot Spitzer is looking to spend more New York State taxpayers money to provide medical services to illegal immigrants.Here are the money quotes:

"Federal health officials have told New York State that they will no longer help cover the cost of chemotherapy for illegal immigrants with cancer because it does not qualify under an emergency Medicaid program. But yesterday, state health officials said they would cover all the costs no matter what the federal government does."

The stupidity of the Spitzer administration continues:
"The state health commissioner, Richard F. Daines, who joined Mr. Spitzer yesterday at a news conference in Manhattan, said the state would pay the full cost of chemotherapy for illegal immigrants, estimated at $5 million to $10 million annually. "

So let me get this straight Governor Spitzer these people are not even supposed to be here but, you want New York State Taxpayers to pick up there entire medical costs after breaking our laws. The illegals are already sending billions of dollars back home to their home countries but, you want New York State taxpayers to pay for their medical bills? How about this as a solution. Take the 10 million dollars and put the illegals who require treatment back on planes to their home countries. I figure you could send about 16,000 of them back home. Let their own governments provide them the medical services they need and NOT New York State taxpayers! You would ultimately be reducing future costs to taxpayers and helping to enforce the laws of our country instead of reaching into our wallets.

Congressman Charlie Norwood

Congressman Charlie Norwood died yesterday in his home in Augusta Georgia. I met him last year in Washington. Even though I am a lifelong registered Democrat and Norwood was a Conservative Republican we still had some common ground on issues like illegal immigration.
Congressman Norwood also worked for all the American people in trying to push through a patients bill of rights:

"Rep. Norwood worked throughout much of his career to pass a patients' bill of rights, aimed at giving people better access to health care and greater ability to sue insurers. Over a decade, the bill passed through the House twice, but it failed after compromises needed to avoid a presidential veto caused Rep. Norwood to lose support in Congress. He reintroduced the bill before leaving Washington last week."

But, it was on dealing with the illegal immigration issue that Norwood won my respect.

"Rep. Norwood did not hesitate to stand up for his conservative principles, even if it meant criticizing his party. Last year, the plainspoken legislator called fellow Republicans who backed compromise immigration legislation "turncoats."

He also understood the costs to American taxpayers in money and services imposed by the illegal immigrant invasion:

"Warning that the nation faces a "true invasion" of illegal immigrants, he called for putting nearly 40,000 troops on the U.S.-Mexico border. He co-wrote a provision to the recent Deficit Reduction Act that bars illegal aliens from getting Medicaid."

He also understood that as a United States Congressman his concerns should be with representing the citizens of the United States and not just the business interests of his party:

"After years of listening to 'advocates' whine about compassion for those who intentionally break our laws for financial gain, I'm glad to see us finally showing some compassion for our own poor and sick who abide by the law,"

Charlie Norwood was not just a Conservative Republican he was a true American and his voice in Congress will be missed.

Democrats cave and leave taxpayers in the dark.

So much for changing things in Washington as the Democrats cave into the Pharmaceutical lobby. As usual the taxpayers wallets will be the ones who suffer. Here are some of the money quotes from the Washington Post article:

"To strengthen their position, drug firms and their trade groups have been transforming their Washington operations by hiring top Democratic lobbyists to gain access to new committee chairmen, bolstering Democratic political donations and spending millions on public relations campaigns to overcome an image, indicated in recent surveys, that the industry puts profits ahead of patients.".

How does this happen? Senator Charles Grassley explains it very simply:

"You can hardly swing a cat by the tail in Washington without hitting a pharmaceutical lobbyist," said Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), a key sponsor of the 2003 legislation that created the current program."

And that is the problem Senator! Instead of swinging dead cats our elected politicians need to be swinging baseball bats! Maybe then there would be a few less lobbyists and better legislation for us taxpayers who pay the bills.
