COMPREHENSIVE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION REFORM JOKE #6: Delaying of E-VERIFY

"The Senate’s complex immigration bill would instantly gut the popular E-Verify system that is widely used to exclude illegal immigrants from jobs, and then create an enforcement gap for several years before the arrival of a replacement system.“There’s no doubt that the bill eliminates E-Verify immediately upon signing,” said Kris Kobach, secretary of state of Kansas"  -MORE HERE

If anything the E-Verify program should be one of the FIRST things that is up and running before anything else. But, that is what happens when a bill called Comprehensive Immigration Reform is written in a back room by immigration lawyers, unions and big business lobbyists and not the American people.

EL PRESIDENTE STUPIDIO OBAMA!

From the Washington Post:

"GUADALAJARA, Mexico, Aug. 10 -- President Obama, attending a North American summit with the leaders of Mexico and Canada, said Monday that his administration will pursue a comprehensive overhaul of the U.S. immigration system this year but that no action on legislation will happen before 2010.

Wrapping up the two-day meeting, Obama said that there needs to be "a pathway to citizenship" for millions of illegal immigrants in the United States, and that the system must be reworked to avoid tensions with Mexico. "

WHAT? There does not need to be a "pathway to citizenship" for the illegals in this country. There needs to be "pathway" for the illegal immigrants alright. A pathway to the border and the airports so they can be deported to the country's they came from. On the second point the "system" does not to be reworked. It's only our laws that need to be enforced by THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT President Obama! You can start by enforcing the E-Verify employment procedures that make sure that projects using Stimulus tax dollars are using only workers that are legally able to work in the U.S. Something that the Obama administration has delayed FOUR TIMES!

"Without it, he said, Mexicans will keep crossing the border in dangerous ways and employers will continue exploiting workers. "We can create a system in which you have . . . an orderly process for people to come in, but we're also giving an opportunity for those who are already in the United States to be able to achieve a pathway to citizenship so that they don't have to live in the shadows,"

Rewarding those already here illegally with a path to citizenship. Oh yeah, that's a great policy. That's what the did with 1986 Immigration Reform Act. That really solved the illegal immigration problem. Obama does not seem to be able to grasp that it was a failed policy. As far the illegals living in the shadows. President Obama does this look like the illegal immigrants are living in the shadows?

From the OBAMA: FAILURE IS AN OPTION files. E-Verify posponed AGAIN!

A report in Washington Technology states that the Obama Administration is once again delaying implementation of the E-Verify system for government contractors. Here are some of the money quotes:

"The Homeland Security Department is expected to delay the deadline again, from June 30, for mandatory contractor use of the E-Verify employment verification system, Jennifer Kerber, vice president for federal and homeland security policy for TechAmerica, wrote in an e-mail message to members today."

"It would be the fourth time DHS' U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency has delayed the controversial rule."

It is becoming apparent that the Obama Administration and groups that represent those that hire illegal immigrants (represented by the "U.S. Chamber of Commerce") DO NOT want to implement anything that helps enforce the law regarding illegal immigration. It seems failure is an option in the Obama Administration when it comes to enforcing U.S. immigration laws and especially when it comes to using E-Verify to make sure that the people hired to work on U.S. (taxpayer paid for) government contracts are legally entitled to work in this country. I guess that's too much to ask of the Obama administration.

The stimulus bill for who?

As the House starts debate on the Stimulus Bill for the country. A group of corrupt business and immigration lawyers are lobbying to have the E-Verify provision stripped from the bill. Roy Beck explains:
"The lobbyists for a variety of industries that hire lots of illegal foreign workers are rallying their troops to phone U.S. House leaders; they hope to strip a provision of the giant stimulus bill that would require recipients to use E-Verify to keep illegal aliens from getting the new jobs."

Is it too much to ask that if we U.S. taxpayers are going to be providing money for a trillion dollar stimulus bill that efforts like using E-Verify be used to insure that the workers hired using that money be citizens and/or legally entitled to work here. You can call your U.S. Representative and tell them that you want to make sure that the E-Verify provision remain in the stimulus bill. The Capitol Switchboard number is: 202-224-3121 Let your own Representative know that his/her constituents expect this bill to explicitly require E-Verify to make sure all new jobs go to Americans and legal immigrants already here. I did!
