THE BEST MEDIA OBAMA CAN BUY WITH YOUR TAX DOLLARS

It's bad enough that MSNBC people like Rachel Maddow have been frequent visitors to the White House. Shamefully, she and NBC NEWS have no ethical qualms on how inappropriate these visits were. Now comes the revelation that the Obama administration funneled a half million dollars to MSNBC for commercials to run on the programs of Obama liberal sycophants Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow.

 Here is the money quote:
"A recent report has revealed that in 2009 Obama's Department of Labor used Obama stimulus bucks to fund advertising on MSNBC.
The advertisements were created to promote Obama's so-called "green training" job programs and were handled by the PR firm McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations LLC at a cost of $495,000 to the taxpayers.
Two video ads ran for two months, 14 times a week during Countdown With Keith Olbermann and The Rachel Maddow Show.
In a joint email statement to The Times from two Labor Department spokesmen, David Roberts and Michael Volpe, officials said the money was used for outreach efforts to raise awareness among potential employers about the Job Corps’ green training in career areas, including automotive, advanced manufacturing and solar-panel installation.
Records appear to show that the program created no jobs.
Strangely, few other TV outlets were considered to run the ads. PBS was apparently rejected because ad rates were too expensive, and Fox, ESPN, and others aren’t even mentioned in the report. The ads did run on CNN after the stint on MSNBC.
So, shockingly, MSNBC and CNN were the lucky recipients of Obama's stimulus bucks for a jobs program that netted no new jobs."

If this had been done during George Bush'e administration the liberal's would be up in arms. It's plain to see how the Obama Administration pays off it's "friends" in the media with invites to the White House and then doling out taxpayer dollars to their companies.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! SUCKERS!

Well the Obama administration did it again! They released some really bad news on Obama's stimulus plan on a Friday July 1, 2011.  Better yet since it was really bad news released it on a Friday before a long holiday weekend when they think no one is paying attention. Here are the money quotes fellow tax payers read them and weep:

"The report was written by the White House’s Council of Economic Advisors, a group of three economists who were all handpicked by Obama, and it chronicles the alleged success of the “stimulus” in adding or saving jobs. The council reports that, using “mainstream estimates of economic multipliers for the effects of fiscal stimulus” (which it describes as a “natural way to estimate the effects of” the legislation), the “stimulus” has added or saved just under 2.4 million jobs — whether private or public — at a cost (to date) of $666 billion. That’s a cost to taxpayers of $278,000 per job.

In other words, the government could simply have cut a $100,000 check to everyone whose employment was allegedly made possible by the “stimulus,” and taxpayers would have come out $427 billion ahead."

I GOT YOUR STIMULUS ANNIVERSERY RIGHT HERE!

Mickey Kaus shows what happens when you put liberal Democrats in charge of moving the economy forward. Here is the money quote:

Meanwhile in Portsmouth New Hampshire another Stimulus program that was supposed to help actually hurts. So the town says: No Thanks! again the money quote:

"PORTSMOUTH — As stimulating as it might have sounded at the time, the city recently declined $2.5 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for its new water treatment plant because federal wage regulations would have forced the city to pay more for the project."

STIMULUS MONEY QUOTE OF THE DAY

"When [the stimulus] runs out, we're going to be in a world of hurt . . . so I'd rather see this go into a fund that we would not be able to access except for emergencies," he said. "While this is a 'stimulus' package, that's not how I run my personal life. I don't know a whole lot of people who go out and spend if they realize that in two years they're not going to have money."

A least there are some people who are looking down the road to see what's coming.

The Stimulus money is green but, is Obama?

So let me get this straight after Obama used fear to get his and the Democratic Stimulus Bill passed fast or there would be a "catastrophe". He then delays the signing by a day. So much for urgency. But, not only that he is going to take Air Force one and fly over halfway across the country to sign the bill. Huh? How much is that going to cost in fuel, security and carbon in the atmosphere to fly the Presidents plane to Denver? How about he just stay in the White House and sign it at the desk. Oh, that's right it would not make for a big photo op if he stayed in Washington.

No E-Verify in Stimulus Bill! Hola suckers!

You would think it would be a no-brainer for Congress which is about to spend hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars on the Stimulus Bill job creation programs would make sure that those jobs would actually go to Americans. But, the dumbocrats like Pelosi and Reid Washington and even President Obama did not demand that E-Verify use it be included in the bill. So construction companies and other employers who will get some this money will be able to continue to hire illegal immigrants without checking if they are legally entitled to work here. That means less jobs for U.S. citizens and more money flowing out of the country. Roy Beck has the money quotes:

"All protections for U.S. workers were stripped from the Stimulus Bill tonight. Illegal aliens can be hired at the same rate as usual.
House Speaker Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Reid and the Obama White House were absolutely certain about one thing for the House/Senate negotiating committee on the Stimulus Bill:

Obama meets the press.

President Obama had his first Presidential news conference last night and it was refreshing. He answered the questions well and was specific. A good start in my opinion. Still he was trying to put lipstick on a pig of a stimulus bill. Which he admits is still not perfect. There were some good points made that bringing energy efficiency to Federal buildings would not only create jobs but, would save money (for us taxpayers) down the road. He should expand that to exsisting local schools so that we taxpayers will also benefit from the savings too. This to me is a good idea. Along with making sure that teachers can teach and if they can't get rid of them. We don't have unlimited money to waste on anything.
I think his using the unemployment figures in Elkhart Indiana as an example of the fear mongering he is supposed to abhor. There's no doubt that Elkhart has a unfortunately high unemployment rate. That's why Obama's people choose to go there for the road show. But, what is not emphasised enough is the main industry in Elkhart is RV (Recreational Vehicles) that get something like 10 miles to the gallon. Well duh! That would be one product that U.S. citizens are not going to be buying in an economic downturn. Of course that industry will suffer. Companies stay in business by making products people want and need. Not by having the Federal Government just throw money out there and hope it hits something. I wish Obama and Congress would understand that.

STIMULUS & THE AUDACITY OF FEAR

"A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe." -- President Obama, Feb. 4.

Hmmm, that sounds just like President Bush now doesn't it.

Meet the new boss same as the old boss. Or Charles Krauthammer said in the Washington Post:

"So much for the president who in his inaugural address two weeks earlier declared "we have chosen hope over fear." Until, that is, you need fear to pass a bill. "

The stimulus bill for who?

As the House starts debate on the Stimulus Bill for the country. A group of corrupt business and immigration lawyers are lobbying to have the E-Verify provision stripped from the bill. Roy Beck explains:
"The lobbyists for a variety of industries that hire lots of illegal foreign workers are rallying their troops to phone U.S. House leaders; they hope to strip a provision of the giant stimulus bill that would require recipients to use E-Verify to keep illegal aliens from getting the new jobs."

Is it too much to ask that if we U.S. taxpayers are going to be providing money for a trillion dollar stimulus bill that efforts like using E-Verify be used to insure that the workers hired using that money be citizens and/or legally entitled to work here. You can call your U.S. Representative and tell them that you want to make sure that the E-Verify provision remain in the stimulus bill. The Capitol Switchboard number is: 202-224-3121 Let your own Representative know that his/her constituents expect this bill to explicitly require E-Verify to make sure all new jobs go to Americans and legal immigrants already here. I did!

Money, money, money

I am hopeful that the Obama administration is on the right track with the stimulus package. There are hopeful signs that they will not repeat the mistakes of the Bush administration and the dumbocratic Congress that just seem to throw money at the problem. Here is the money quote from today's Washington Post:"In the meantime, Obama said he will incorporate a trio of provisions in the nearly $800 billion stimulus package under review by Congress -- dubbed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act -- to ensure that the money is not wasted. The provisions include establishing a special panel to monitor use of the money; a Web site that will allow taxpayers to monitor use of the money; and a ban on lawmakers' pet projects, known as earmarks."
To me this is a good policy let's hope it's not "just words".

Merry Christmas: I got yer stimulus right here!

The lobbyist are lining up to get their hands on the next outflow of taxpayer dollars to come out of Washington. It is good to see that their are some people in Washington and I am happy to see that some are Democrats who know that just throwing money out is not the best way to stimulate the economy and be effective. Here is the money quote:"
If we're going to call it a stimulus package, it has to be stimulating and has to be stimulating now. I think there are members of our caucus who are trying to create a Christmas tree out of this," said Rep. Baron P. Hill (Ind.), incoming co-chairman of the Blue Dog Coalition, a caucus of 51 fiscally conservative House Democrats.
The Christmas tree is a good analogy. While it looks pretty for a while in the house. It eventually winds up on the street with all the other trash a symbol of wasted money. Let's hope Dems like Rep. Hill and the Obama administration keep their eye on the money and make sure we taxpayers get the most out of every dollar spent in the "stimulus" bill.

Eating the Bear

Last night I was on the Amtrak heading back to Washington D.C. reading the weekend Financial Times. There are a few articles about the Bear Sterns bailout. But, what struck me was the timeline one of the articles had. It traces the demise of some of these geniuses of Wall Street but, more importantly the amount of money we taxpayers have been pumping in to correct the mess so far:

Along with this money when you add the $156 billion from the "stimulus bill" you can see pretty soon we are talking about some real money that we fellow taxpayers are laying out because these masters of the universe of Wall Street never questioned the words "sub prime". And it's not over yet. File this under "Hola Suckers" taxpayers.

The Stimulus Bill and the corruption that caused it.

President Bush and congress had their photo op yesterday with the signing of the "Stimulus" Bill. Since I have paid my bills and loans on time, saved money and had some investment and work income that will just barely put me over the threshold. I will probably not recieve a check from the IRS from this legislation. However, since the money for the refunds of the stimulus bill will be borrowed I will be helping to pay it back in the future. And they wonder why we taxpayers are getting so angry.

But, while the lapdog pack mainstream media is mostly drooling over the Roger Clemens testimony there are more important storys that deserve more attention from the media and we the people that are directly related to why the stimulas bill was even created. Luckily, Washington Post reporter Carrie Johnson has a look at the roots of this financial meltdown and the corruption that caused it. Here is one of the "money" quotes:

"FBI officials said yesterday that they are conducting criminal investigations of 16 companies, while their partners at the Securities and Exchange Commission are probing nearly two dozen more. Those federal investigations follow subpoenas from attorneys general in at least four states and class-action lawsuits that target home builders, lenders, credit-rating agencies and the banks that packaged groups of mortgages into securities. "


This is a much more important story than if Roger Clemens got needles stuck in his butt. I say to the FBI and Security and Exchange Commission investigators: GO GET EM!

The stimulation and anger of the American voter

"In a Gallup poll last month, only 24 percent of Americans said they were satisfied with the state of the country -- one of the lowest readings ever recorded. And it's not just George W. Bush they're mad at. Public approval ratings for the Democratic-controlled Congress are even lower than the president's. According to a 2006 poll taken by my former firm, Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates, 61 percent of voters say the two major parties are failing, and a survey last year by the Republican pollster Frank Luntz showed that 81 percent of voters would consider voting for an independent this year. "-Washington Post

I am not sure why voters like me are so angry. Despite paying taxes to the Federal Government to help protect the United States I still have hundreds of illegal immigrants standing around my neighborhood every morning. I have a choice of three "front running " candidates who look like they will not improve this situation. I pay my bills on time, paid off my school, home and credita cards. I pay as I go. But, even though the recently passed "stimulis" bill will give checks to most taxpayers and increase U.S. debt which I will also pay for. I will not be receiving a check. Here is the money quote:

What does this mean?

"President Bush and congressional leaders moved closer to agreeing on a compromise economic rescue package yesterday, fending off fresh protests from both the right and the left as they rushed to respond to a cascading series of economic troubles and to head off a potential recession." -Washington Post

I was boarding the Amtrak train at Union Station in Washington yesterday. When I looked up and saw a rainbow in the late afternoon sun. Is it just a coincidence that this rainbow appears after the Federal Reserve lowers the interest rates. Speaking of pots of money at the end of the rainbow. Here is another money quote:
" As markets roiled from a sharp sell-off around the world and the Federal Reserve cut interest rates at home, Bush met with House and Senate leaders to work out a package of tax breaks for consumers and businesses. In an important concession to Democrats, Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. signaled that he is open to including breaks even for those who pay little to no income taxes. "
I just hope that the Democrats and Bush mean that they will make sure that this money they want to give to people "who pay little of no income tax" will be Americans and not illegal immigrants who will send this money off to Mexico and other countries instead of it being spent here in the United States for our economy.

Pelosi's stimulus plan?

While we wait for the outcome of negations for the stimulus plan to help the U.S. economy. Which thanks to the bonehead bankers and mortgage companies who found out that maybe giving out $650,000 mortgages to illegal immigrants who only make $18,000 a year may not be a good business model after all.
We now wait for those other boneheads namely the pols in Washington to come up with their "stimulis plan". Here is one of the money quotes:"Pelosi and Boehner have both stressed the need for an immediate, targeted infusion of federal funds into the economy, likely in the form of a small tax rebate coupled with some slight investment incentives for small businesses and a modest dose of social welfare spending for the lowest-income families."
My message to Pelosi and the Democrats is that if you are going to increase social welfare spending to the "lowest income families". you had better make DAMN SURE that those families are not in this country illegally.
