It's good to finally see some performers like Shocked stand up for what they believe in even if it shocks her liberal audience. Meanwhile another performer namely Hillary Clinton ran the other way and took a position on homosexual marriage for political reasons. Personally I think Shocked is more honest in her feelings.

Well there was good news that Caroline Kennedy has withdrawn her name to get Hillary Clinton's New York Senate seat. Good riddance too!. Here are some of the money quotes from today's Washington Post:

"after first avoiding the press, then holding a series of halting interviews and giving vague answers, Kennedy's front-runner status diminished somewhat. She also appeared resistant to opening her finances to scrutiny, lending to the view that after largely avoiding the spotlight for most of her life, she was only a reluctant candidate for public life."

It must have come as a shock to her that there would be such scrutiny. I mean she is a Kennedy aren't they entitled to government positions.

"I'm sure her uncle Ted would want nothing more than to see her in his brother's seat in the United States Senate."

I'm sure he does. But, we in New York State do not. It's time that people in the political dynesties like the Kennedy's and the Bushes understrand that the U.S. Government is not an employment agency set up just for them

Obama may pick Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State?

As the saying goes "keep your friends close and your enemies closer". I think that is what is going on here with all the rumors of Obama picking Hillary Clinton for his Secretary of State. I think this is a pretty shrewd move on his part.This gets her out of the Senate and makes it less likely she could mount a primary challenge should the Obama administration start to go down in flames. Since she would be part of it she will have to defend it. Another good thing he could be sending her off to who knows where and keep her out of Washington for four years. Just like this:

Obama gets it wrong. Is he channeling Joe Biden?

President Elect Obama stuck his foot in his mouth during his first press conference following his historic election victory. Here are some of Obama's erroneous money quotes:

Obama got this wrong. What was he thinking? Maybe about that other first lady Hillary Clinton?

I was robbed

I had this dream on Friday night. The banks made these sub prime loans to people who could never afford a mortgage. Then President Bush, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, my Congressman Tim Bishop, Senator Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton and a bunch of other politcians showed up. They went into my wallet and made me and other taxpayers pay the banks back for the subprime loans that they gave out.. Did anyone else have this dream? Thank God nothing like that could never actually happen in the American capitalist system.

Micropolitics: Mark Penn out of Clinton campaign

Looks like one of the smartest guys has just left the Clinton campaign. I recommend reading Marl Penn's book MICROTRENDS. In that book he was looking at the little changes that can mean in lot in the big picture. I ran into Penn a few months ago and told him how much I liked his book. I then told him to don't forget us Lou Dobbs Democrats that we are still out here. He had a surprised look on his face when I said that. It will be interesting to see what happens to the Clinton campaign from here on.

White men can't jump but, we do vote!

Dan Balz in today's Washington Post has an article today on us neglected white male voters that the Obama and Clinton campaigns have just discovered. I am reminded of the Quicksilver Messenger Service song from the 60's whose refrain was "Ohhh What ya gonna do about me?" A Lou Dobbs Democrat like myself still remembers Hillary Clinton speaking at the illegal immigrant rallies and we also know that Obama supports drivers licenses for illegal immigrants. Just like Eliot Spitzer and you know what happened to him. Yes, perhaps we white guys can't jump but, we do vote. And all campaigns should remember that we don't forget either.

The stimulation and anger of the American voter

I am not sure why voters like me are so angry. Despite paying taxes to the Federal Government to help protect the United States I still have hundreds of illegal immigrants standing around my neighborhood every morning. I have a choice of three "front running " candidates who look like they will not improve this situation. I pay my bills on time, paid off my school, home and credita cards. I pay as I go. But, even though the recently passed "stimulis" bill will give checks to most taxpayers and increase U.S. debt which I will also pay for. I will not be receiving a check. Here is the money quote:

Howard Dean makes me laugh!

I got an email from Howard Dean yesterday. It made me laugh. I guess since I am a registered Democrat I'm on his mailing list. Here are some of the Dr. Deans lines of mirth:

"Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney are done. John McCain will be the Republican nominee -- he's the only one with a reasonable path to the nomination."

So Dean admits the fix is is in even though the voting is not over. Where was Howard Dean during the 2000 election? Seems that was the Republican argument for stopping the recount. How soon they forget.

"John McCain is a media darling, but don't trust his carefully-crafted image - he's worked for years to brand himself. From Iraq to health care, Social Security to special interest tax cuts to ethics, he's promising nothing more than a third Bush term."

John McCain media darling? Now this was a real laugh! A media darling as opposed to say Barrack Obama or Hillary Clinton? As they say people in glass houses should not throw stones. I bet there a few broken windows at the Democratic National Commitee offices today.

"On immigration reform, he's run as far to the right as he can, aligning himself with the most extreme elements of the Republican Party."

This is the biggest laugh of all from Dean. Memo to Howard Dean those of us who follow this issue and see illegal immigrants standing around in our communities everyday remember it was called the McCain/Kennedy illegal immigrant amnesty bill. If you think McCain has gone to the right on the issue you are truly delusional and if you think having the Dems go to the left on the issue offering amnesty will win middle class taxpayers like myself. Think again.

My Super Tuesday and my right to write in

I traveled back from Washington D.C. to come vote in the Democratic primary here in New York. I was not looking forward to it. Because I knew I could not bring myself to vote for either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. I was trying to decide on which of the other candidates who were still listed on the ballot I would vote for. It was a toss up between John Edwards or Joe Biden, I was leaning toward Joe Biden because I like his foreign policy talk and besides I had shaken hands with him soon after he announced. But, when I got to the polling place I decided to see to see if I could do a write in. This caused all kinds of confusion amoung the election workers. Finally someone said I could. OK, I said what do I need to do? You need to do it in the machine was the response. All right how do I do that? Again blank stairs and no reponse. I asked again what do I need to do?
Finally a poll worker came up to me and told me not tell anyone that I told you this but, you lift up one of the panels on the top row and write the name in there. So that's what I did. I lifted the metal panel and there on the blank space I wrote in Lou Dobbs. I left feeling much better about voting than when I arrived.

More good news about illegal immigration.

The full effect of the law, which calls for punishing Arizona employers who knowingly employ illegal immigrants but hasn't been used yet, is troublesome and unknown for Mexican lawmakers along the border."We have yet to feel the full impact, but the moment (immigrants) leave Arizona, we're going to have problems," said Enrique Flores Lopez, director of the state migrant advocacy department in the state of Sonora. " - Arizonia Republic

I say to these Mexican Officials Mi problemo , Su problemo! To which I add to our U.S. officials what a surprise ! Enforcement works! Please make a note of this.

"Nogales legislator Leticia Amparano, who met with Arizona lawmakers to learn more about the new law and its enforcement, said Mexican lawmakers have collected anecdotes about crowded classrooms and more people roaming the streets of downtown Nogales, Mexico, in search of assistance."

No say it isn't so! That sounds just like some towns like here in suburban Long Island:

"To me, it seems too easy to blame the United States and not do anything ourselves."

At least there is one elected official who knows what needs to be done. Unfortunately it's not Clinton, Obama or McCain it's Mexico's Governor of Sonora Eduardo Bours. But, at least someone is starting to understand the problem and is taking steps to allow the people of Mexico to live and stay in there own country instead of coming here illegally. And that's good news!

Hillarita: Don't cry for me Mexico City!

Well no sooner has Bill Richardson left the stage here comes Hillary Clinton going for the illegal immigrant vote:

I guess someone forgot to tell her that she is running for President of the United States. Where she is supposed to take and oath to preserve protect and defend not only the constitution but, also the borders of the United States. As for Hillary's comment that "No woman is illegal." Hillary meet Elivera Alleano. Before you forge ahead pandering for the illegal immigrant "vote" maybe you ought to speak to some American Latinos like Col. Al Rodriguez and others at You Don't Speak For Me.

Something was missing from the Democratic debate

"And so let me introduce them from left to right. We have with us former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico and Senator Hillary Clinton from New York."

There was something missing from the ABC NEWS Democratic debate last night. Namely two presidential candidates Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich. One thing that was not missing is the feeling that the fix is in on who the mainstream media thinks should be be the candidates and that should be a concern of everyone who votes in this country. Mike Gravel I think sums up the situation pretty good:

Is Hillary Clinton delusional or disingenous?

I went to bed last night around 10pm here in the eastern time zone. I listened to WCBS the local radio news station in New York. There I heard Hillary Clinton give her speech where despite her third place finish she made it sound like she won the Iowa Democratic Caucus. She is either delusional or attempting to try and fool the public with a false faced sound bite. I have not heard or seen anything so disingenuous from a politician since George Bush stood before the "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" banner on the aircraft carrier.

Don Imus is back.

Don Imus will be back on the air today and all I can say it is about time. My only concern is how I will be able to listen to him here in D.C. At least when I am back on Long Island I can here him on WABC AM. Those who helped manufacture the outrage against Don Imus I hope are a little concerned. From weak kneed executives at NBC and CBS. Not to mention other hypocrites like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Keith Obermann and Al Roker who help lead the lynch mob to get Imus off the air. There should even be some Presidential candidates like Hillary Clinton who should be afraid, very afraid. I for one hope that Imus opens up a big can of "wup ass" on them all. They deserve it just as Imus deserves to be back on the air.

What Clinton, Obama & Bush don't understand.

While Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards continue to do a John Kerry on the issue of illegal immigration. They just don't seem to get what is so infuriating to many Americans on the issue of illegal immigration. These political elites just do not seem to understand the anger of U.S. citizens. John Derbyshire at the National Review has an excellent primer for these clueless elites:

"It was noticed years ago that the gap between elite opinion and public opinion on immigration issues is extraordinarily wide, as these gaps go. Some of this is naked self-interest: wealthy business types liking cheap, docile labor forces, rich folk of all stripes appreciating cheap & meek domestic servants. Some part arises from the guilty conscience that rich people always have, even in the U.S.A., known that all wealth and success is to some degree a product of dumb luck. From this you get patronizing noblesse oblige attitudes directed most particularly at those who are obviously poor. (The lower-middle classes don't seem to get much noblesse oblige directed their way.) Some comes from the "diversity" indoctrination that most elite types got while passing through their elite colleges and law schools. A big part arises from the simple and inescapable fact that elites don't share the anxieties of ordinary folk. They don't worry, as the rest of us do, about property values, losing a job, or affording health care."

He also has a spot on explanation the surprise that those in Washington got when they tried to ram through the "Comprehensive" Immigration Amnesty Bill earlier this year:

"Our Senators stir themselves from their oak-paneled offices and antique-leather armchairs to cook up a new scheme to amnesty all those polite, nice folk who are doing their yard work for them. Seems like a great idea! Then suddenly they can't hear themselves talk for the roar of phone calls and faxes coming in from their constituents. Elite Back-Down Two. It's all totally baffling to them. Who are these people making such a fuss about a perfectly reasonable, humane proposal?
It's us, buddy, the great unwashed. This is still a democracy we have here. Try to keep that in mind, eh?"

I would also add that these elites had also better understand that the United States is a Republic and not an employment agency for Mexico or any other country.

Hillary Clinton's Jeff Gannon moment

Hypocrisy in politics? I am shocked. It seems the Hillary Clinton's campaign has been using people planted in the audience to ask questions at some of her campaign stops. Many Democrats including this one where outraged when the White House use a similar technique using "journalist" Jeff Gannon to lob softball questions to President Bush at a White House press conference. People should be equally outraged by the actions of the Clinton campaign.

Clinton: Drivers licenses for illegals complicated. Huh?

Now Bill Clinton is trying to defend the indefensible:

"At the end of a televised Democratic presidential debate last week, Hillary Rodham Clinton hedged on whether she supported a plan by her home state governor, New York's Eliot Spitzer, to issue licenses to illegal immigrants. Republicans — and her rivals for the Democratic nomination — quickly criticized her answer, accusing her of trying to have it both ways.
But Bill Clinton said the issue is too complicated for sound bites." -AP

Too complicated Bill? How's this:

Illegal immigrants have the right to be deported.

Not a right to get a drivers license

Clinton, Spitzer and voter fraud.

Speaking of threats to democracy, Forget Pakistan there is a more immediate threat to our own democracy. Hillary Clinton says she knows why Eliot Spitzer wants to give illegal immigrants a license. I'll bet she does:

"The background here is the National Voter Registration Act, commonly known as 'Motor Voter,' that President Bill Clinton signed into law in 1993. It required all states to offer voter registration to anyone getting a driver's license. One simply fills out a form and checks a box stating he is a citizen; he is then registered and in most states does not have to show any ID to vote.

"But no one checks if the person registering to vote is indeed a citizen. ...

"Under pressure from liberal groups, some states have even abandoned the requirement that people check a citizenship box to be put on the voter rolls. Iowa has told local registrars they should register people even if they leave the citizenship box blank. Maryland officials wave illegal immigrants through the registration process, prompting a Justice Department letter warning they may be helping people violate federal law."-Washington Times

Is diabolical too strong of a word for this threat to our democracy by people like New York Governor Eliot Spitzer and others like Hillary Clinton. I think not.

Hey Hillary Clinton! I got your shadow right here.

It appears that some in the mainstream media are finally waking up to the issue of illegal immigration. It was certainly highlighted as an issue that Clinton has been trying to avoid. At the Democratic debate her liberal mindset showed where her feelings on the issue are. They certainly are not with her constituents in New York State or in the rest of the country. So her campaign people are in full damage control mode:

"Senator Clinton supports governors like Governor Spitzer who believe they need such a measure to deal with the crisis caused by this administration's failure to pass comprehensive immigration reform. As President, her goal will be to pass comprehensive immigration reform that would make this unnecessary," the statement said. Campaign advisers, pressed to explain her view more clearly, said that she ultimately supports the driver's-license proposal." -Washington Post

Translation: Because George Bush and some of the Democrats had failed to push the Illegal Immigrant Amnesty Bill through the Senate against the wishes of the American people where she could have swept the illegal immigrant problem under the rug. She is now forced to side with Governor Spitzer because giving drivers licenses to illegals may allow for enough massive voter fraud allowing her and the Democratic party to win the elections.

Clinton and Spitzer keep blowing smoke on the issue with statements like that by giving licenses to illegal immigrants will allow them to "come out of the shadows":
