Guess who is the biggest shareholder in the Washington Post?

WASHINGTON POST DOES A HIT JOB ON HISPANICS BUT, ONLY REPUBLICAN ONES

Well, it looks like the Washington Post has giving up on journalism and being the paper of record recently and is now carry water for the Democratic Party. This was painfully obvious after they ran a now discredited hit piece on Florida's Republican Senator Marco Rubio by Manual Roig-Franzi.  A reporter who always seems to have some nice things to say about the Castro regime. Whereas  Marco Rubio and many Cuban exiles do not. But, I think Steve Kruiser nailed it on why the liberal editors of the Washington Post allowed this hit piece to be printed. :

"Nothing frightens Democrats more than a minority voter who is a registered Republican. It severely disrupts the meme that the GOP is still secretly getting fitted for Klan hoods at party meetings. Democrats begin to sweat severely when said Republican begins to rise to prominence and they need to get the message out that this will not stand. Then of course this is the same paper that knowingly had an illegal immigrant Jose-Antonio-Vargas working as a reporter at their paper for several years and said nothing until the story broke in the New York Times Magazine. Even then they only covered it in the "Style" section. Pretty pathetic for even a liberal "news" organization like the Washington Post. No wonder people don't trust media outlets like the Wahington Post to actually report the news these days.

TAKING OUT THE TRASH WITH BARNEY FRANK

Always good to check the news on Saturday that's when the important news is published that could be embarrising to the government and various politicians. It's called "taking out the trash" Release the stories on Friday (or say right before a holiday weekend like today) in the hopes that the people won't notice as they get ready for the weekend.  Today's Washington Post has an item concerning Fannie Mae's  favorite Congressman Barney "bailout" Frank.  It seems the Associated Press and the Washington Post made sure this little conflict of interest item does not get to much of a high profile and notice:

"WASHINGTON — Rep. Barney Frank says he helped his then-domestic partner land a job with Fannie Mae in the 1990s while Frank was serving on the House panel overseeing the mortgage company."-Washington Post

The Washington Post buried this item in the lower left hand corner of page A7. How long do the American people have to put up with corruption of politicans like Barney Frank?  It seems "reporters" are intimidated by politicians like Frank also.  Which is another reason why journalism is failing the American people these days too!

CENSUS?: DON'T COUNT ON IT!

From today's Washington Post:

"Amid fears that millions of people may be overlooked during next year's census, the Census Bureau will launch a $250 million promotional campaign to encourage participation in the decennial head count, especially among hard-to-reach minority groups in urban areas."

This is of course one of the reason's why the Whitehouse wants control of the census. Meanwhile the liberal mainstream media ignores the issue that the Obama administration will be using his radical friends at ACORN as temporary workers to help conduct the census. You know the ones who submitted all those fraudulent voter registration forms. Hola suckers!

How about starting with this crowd of illegals 1500 miles from the southern border. Have Immigration Customs and Enforcement pick them up and count them as they deport them. We'd be taking care of two problems at once. Yes we can!

More Huffington Post hypocrisy!

Kurtz at the WAPO has the goods on a journalist jerk who created a You Tube clip making it appear that Fox News anchor John Gibson said something he did not about Attorney General Eric Holder. Here are the money quotes:


"A Baltimore television reporter has lost his job after acknowledging that he doctored a video to make it appear that Fox News Radio host John Gibson had made a racial slur.
In the bogus video, which was picked up across the Internet, Gibson seemed to be comparing Attorney General Eric Holder to a monkey with a "bright blue scrotum." There had been chatter on Fox News earlier about such a monkey, which had escaped from a Seattle zoo.
A spokeswoman for WBAL-TV confirmed yesterday that technology reporter John Sanders is no longer employed by the station but she declined to comment on whether he had been dismissed. His profile was promptly removed from the NBC affiliate's Web site. "



But even more outrageous is the liberals at the Huffington Post ran with this story. After so many years lambasted Fox News for it's bias the Huff Post now has egg on it's face. As John Gibson correctly notes:


"My ire in this situation is directed at the Huffington Post," Gibson said. "I really think this would have been very easy to check. A kid made a mistake and did something goofy, fine. But these guys [at the Huffington Post] claim to be and are regarded by many as a legitimate news organization. It spoke to their bias against me that they went ahead with it."

They call this News?

Today's front page above the fold story in the Washington Post concerns the decline in U.S. womans figure skating. This is news? Or is it just a concern of some Washington Post editor whose daughter is an avid ice skater. Call me the ice man but, this story does not belong on the front page and the editor who approved it's placement does not deserve to be an editor of the front page.

News media quote of the day or now they tell us!

Just as many of us had suspected one of the more blatant failures of this passed election is that of American Journalism in covering the Presidential campaign fairly or in depth. Washington Post's Ombudsman Deborah Howell has today's quote of the day:

"The Post provided a lot of good campaign coverage, but readers have been consistently critical of the lack of probing issues coverage and what they saw as a tilt toward Democrat Barack Obama. My surveys, which ended on Election Day, show that they are right on both counts. "

Looks like someone will have to break the news to MSNBC's Keith Obamamann and Chris (tingle in the legs ) Matthews that they were not the only Obama butt boys. Now about that coverage or lack of coverage of Ron Paul in the primaries...

Eugene Robinson crys the News

In his column on Tuesday Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson and Obama butt boy complains about how the McCain campaign is trying use the "news media" to distract the issues in the campaign. As opposed to say the "news media" bringing their bias and prejudice for Obama into their reporting or not reporting as the case may be. Robinson obviously frustrated that the McCain campaign won't play by his and the liberal mainstream media rules. Here are some of the money quotes:

"we think of ourselves as working in the public interest. We repeatedly remind everyone that our right to do our jobs however we see fit is enshrined in the First Amendment. "

Note to Eugene Robinson: That first amendment does not only apply to six figure salaried columnist at the Washington Post but, also to working class guys sitting at a keyboard at 6:30 in the morning commenting on the news of the day or the news media, Get used to it! Mr. Robinson.

"We love to quote Thomas Jefferson about how he would rather have newspapers without a government than a government without newspapers. "

I suspect that if Thomas Jefferson were alive to day he might say the same thing except because of the continuing failures of the mainstream news media he might phrase it a little differently. Perhaps something like this:

I would rather have a country without newspapers than a country without bloggers.

I think Jefferson would truly understand that bloggers are truly the voices of the American people not columnist at organizations like the Washington Post. I suspect Jefferson would be a blogger too.
Robinson continues:

"But in the Jeffersonian sense, we know that it's not in the public interest to spend the rest of the campaign talking about fringe characters who once crossed paths with Obama, McCain, Palin or Joe Biden instead of debating the economy, the war on terror, health care or any of the other big issues that will define the next presidency. "

Uh, like illegal immigration? Have we heard one peep from the candidates or the news media about this issue? How about when candidate Obama just makes stuff up in speeches as he did in May. Did the Washington Post cover it? I guess since it was Obama and not McCain it was not considered news.

Voter fraud, ACORN and the Washington Post

The Washington Post had an article by Alec MacGillis and Alice Crites about voter registration and how it seems to benefit Obama. While it mentioned ACORN:

"Complementing its efforts are organizations that have been registering hundreds of thousands on their own, such as Democracia USA, which registers Hispanic voters; ACORN, the anti-poverty group; and Women's Voices, Women Vote, which targets unmarried women."

There was no mention of the voter registration fraud that ACORN has been caught in. Michelle Malkin has been on the case for awhile and recent testomony before congress has shed more light on the voter registration fraud that is going on in our Democracy.

"Here are the most important questions right now: We know about the thousands of potentially fraudulent voter registration cards turned in by ACORN and caught by officials. But given the size of ACORN's efforts and the fact that the abuses appear to be systemic, we believe it is fair to question how many more fraudulent registrations have not been discovered, Furthermore, as this mega organization with a decades long history of violating the law is turned to get out the vote efforts, we believe it is fair to question how many fraudulent registrations may lead to fraudulent votes or what other activities they are willing to undertake to influence the election. ?

Perhaps if the Washington Post had dug a little deeper they would have exposed this threat to our democracy. But in Obamaworld it seems that liberal news organizations like the Washigton Post have a see no illegal write about no illegal activity view when it comes to Obama and the Democrats.

Bloggers: The new Sheriff in town

Howard Kurz in the Washington Post has the story of citizen journalist and blogger Mayhill Fowler who scooped the mainstream media with both Obama's "bitter" comments and Bill Clinton's comments on the Vanity Fair piece. Good for her at getting at the truth of some of these politicians runnoing for office. Here are some of the money quotes:

"Fowler is part of a new breed -- citizen journalist, liberal advocate, agent provocateur -- and her success has stirred questions about her methods."

How dare she get at the unvarnished truth instead of the sugar coated pundent filled one that the mainstream media provides. Stand back MSM there is a new sheriff in town.

"She is one of 2,500 people, from writers to academics to accountants, working with Off the Bus, a $200,000 venture launched by the Huffington Post and New Assignment, the brainchild of New York University journalism professor Jay Rosen. The idea is to unleash ordinary folks on the presidential campaign and give them a technology-powered megaphone"

The mainstream media journalists and editors had better understand they do not have a monopoly on the truth or are not the final word on what is news.

The liberal media wants more tears and dollars from U.S. taxpayers.

I've been away on a vacation in the Bahamas for the past week. But, when I come back it seems the liberal mainstream media is up to their old tricks in reporting on immigration issues. The latest comes from the a 60 Minutes story last night and the Washington Post today where "reporters" Amy Goldstein and Dana Priest try to get U.S. citizens to shed tears for the immigrants in U.S. detention centers awaiting deportation. But, they downplay the role of their lawyers who (guess what?) are suing the Federal government. Hmmmm. Here are some the money quotes:

"This unnoticed prison system was built for a quick revolving door of detainees -- into custody, out of the country. But often, people linger in detention for months or years."

People in detention for months or years? Perhaps if they and their lawyers would stop trying to fight deportation they would be deported and released to get whatever medical treatment they desire just not on the U.S. taxpayers dime. It's their call (and of course their lawyers too) but, that is never mentioned by this crack reporting team from WAPO. But, we U.S. taxpayers are supposed to feel sorry for them as they game the system at our expense. While many citizens in our own country do not have any medical coverage. Yeah right.

Two months after ICE agents seized Harvill in Florida, they transferred her to Arizona last May, saying a federal compound called the Florence Service Processing Center was better suited to handle her medical care.

Seized? How about arrested as a more appropiate way to describe what happens to those who violate our laws. The bias in their reporting is showing.

Albert Hoffmann father of LSD dead at 102

"Albert Hofmann, 102, a Swiss chemist and accidental father of LSD who came to view the much-vilified and abused hallucinogen he discovered in 1938 as his "problem child," died April 29 at his home in Burg, a village near Basel, Switzerland, after a heart attack."- Washington Post

What I found interesting while reading the obituary of Hoffmann in the Washington Post was that it makes absolutely no mention of it's use by the CIA in it's mind control experiments during the cold war. So important did the CIA believe that LSD would be an important drug in getting it's cold war prisoner's to talk that the agency once attempted to buy all the stockpile that Sandoz Labs had so that it could not be sold to anyone else. The CIA then cut a check to cover the purchase of 25,000 lbs of LSD. The trouble was Sandoz only had about 25 pounds of the stuff. Somebody in the CIA had misread the quantity Sandoz had in stock. Even back then the CIA was getting the intelligence wrong. Of course LSD like many of the other "truth serums" turned out to be pretty much useless in getting quality information in interrogations.

Feds failing us again

When it come to enforcing our illegal immigration laws it is easy to see where the problem is. It always points back to the Federal Government. That's way pro illegal immigration groups like the ACLU and ethno centric organizations like LA RAZA always want the Federal Government to be in charge of the enforcement of illegal immigration laws. Because they do such a bad job of it.
Exhibit A from today's Washington Post:
"A highly touted partnership between the Prince William County jail and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is showing signs of strain, as crowding at the facility has hit an all-time high and federal agents are taking weeks -- not the agreed-upon 72 hours -- to pick up illegal immigrant suspects, jail officials said. "

Anatomy of a sub prime problemo.

The Washington Post has an article that belongs in the "Hola suckers" file concerning the sub prime loan debacle that we responsible citizens will be paying for. As is usual in liberal mainstream media papers like the Washington Post no mention is made about the legal status of some those involved. Use your own editorial judgment because you can't rely of those of the Washington Post. Still the article shows the problem that all of the rest of us RESPONSIBLE citizens will be paying for. Here are some of the money quotes:

"Looking back, Glenda Ortiz can see she did everything wrong when she bought her house in 2005."

Duh! When you do everything wrong. Guess what happens?

"Ortiz, who speaks little English, said she didn't know much about the U.S. banking system. So when a Mary Kay saleswoman, Maria Esperanza Salgado, came to her door and said she could help her buy a house, Ortiz said, she believed her."

What could go wrong here? Ortiz has lived in the U.S. for nine years and speaks little English? Perhaps if she spent a little less time watching Spanish language Novellas on TV she might have been able to read some of the documents she signed.

Exhibit A:
"She signed papers in English that she didn't understand. One said she was married to a man she didn't know. "

Uh huh. Well this must be a new law that I am not aware of.

"Erick Gutierrez, housing director for the Washington-based Latino Economic Development Corp., said is all too familiar. Gutierrez blames the government for allowing so many sub prime loans, such as Ortiz's, which required no proof of income."

Oh yeah, I blame the government too! But, unlike Mr. Gutierrez I blame the government for not making sure that some of the people getting these loans are supposed to be in this country in the first place. Of course there is no mention of this in the article.

"According to the Center for Responsible Lending, 40 percent of loans to Latinos are subprime, and it projects that one out of five of these loans made in 2005 and 2006 will go into foreclosure."

Of course not all of these loans to Latinos where being made to illegals but, no one in the mainstream media or our government seems to be asking the question of how many of these sub prime loans were given to people who should not have been here in the first place. But, we responsible U.S. citizens should be demanding that they do! After all we are paying for this debacle.

"She said she had become so depressed about losing her home that she stopped working for more than a year."

Hmmm stopped working for a year? I wish I could do that. How did she survive? Oh but, she has somehow managed to scrape together enough money to hire another lawyer. Hola suckers!

White men can't jump but, we do vote!

Dan Balz in today's Washington Post has an article today on us neglected white male voters that the Obama and Clinton campaigns have just discovered. I am reminded of the Quicksilver Messenger Service song from the 60's whose refrain was "Ohhh What ya gonna do about me?" A Lou Dobbs Democrat like myself still remembers Hillary Clinton speaking at the illegal immigrant rallies and we also know that Obama supports drivers licenses for illegal immigrants. Just like Eliot Spitzer and you know what happened to him. Yes, perhaps we white guys can't jump but, we do vote. And all campaigns should remember that we don't forget either.

Marcela Sanchez is not an honest Hispanic

Today's Washington Post carried another disengenuious commentary by Marcela Sanchez. Who like many dishonest Hispanic pro-illegal commentators tries to make no distiction between legal and illegal immigration. here is the money quote:

"Yet, the anti-illegal immigrant sentiment will continue to loom large in this year's political contests at the state and local level. What's more, immigration will remain so contentious around the country that Republican and Democratic insiders predict that comprehensive reform of the kind President Bush pursued but failed to pass will be a non-starter for at least the next four years."

This is where Sanchez and others go off course. Immigration will not be a contentious issue and never has been in the current debate. Illegal immgration is the issue! Until disengenuious writers and open borders advocates like Sanchez start to know the difference between illegal and legal immigration there will be no progress in solving the problem. It's a very simple concept but, people like Sanchez do not seem to be able to understand it.

Forget something mainstream corporate media?

I am reading about the victories of John McCain and Mitt Romney in South Carolina and Nevada in today;s Washington Post. I and others are noticing more and more the lack of any mention of Ron Paul a candidate who pretty consistently garners around 10% of the vote despite the blind eye of the corporate mainstream media to cover him. They do this at their own peril. I am thinking more and more if the Republicans make McCain the nominees and the Dems choose either Clinton or Obama it would be easy for me to pull the lever for an independent like Ron Paul. I'm sure their are others out there too.
