ABC, NBC, CBS IGNORE UNION THUGGERY

Once again the liberal broadcast networks ignore the violence of the left and union thugs. The latest outrage occurred in Lansing Michigan which the three major networks conveniently ignored on their "news" broadcasts :

“The pro-union broadcast networks are deliberately censoring footage of thuggish union violence directed at conservatives,” said Media Research President Brent Bozell. “If a Tea Partier had physically assaulted a liberal journalist or ripped down a structure occupied by a liberal organization all on video, the footage would be broadcast on an endless loop. ABC, CBS, and NBC have a responsibility to the American people to expose what’s really happening in Michigan. Their double standard is absolutely outrageous.” - BIG JOURNALISM

At least Fox News has the temerity to show people the truth of what was really going on there :

The Washington Post announced that it will be paying it's 2013 dividends early. Here is the money quote:
"WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Washington Post Co. will pay its 2013 dividends before the end of this year to try to spare investors from anticipated tax increases.

The media and education company said Friday that its dividend of $9.80 per share is payable Dec. 27 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 17. The payout is instead of regular quarterly dividends next year."- AP

Guess who is the biggest shareholder in the Washington Post?

"Warren Buffett's firm Berkshire Hathaway. Berkshire is its largest shareholder with an estimated 1.7 million shares, which means it could get a roughly $17 million dividend payment."

OSAMA IS NOT THE ONLY THING THAT'S DEAD!

I can not remember the last time I picked up and read an article from the New York Times.  A new documentary called PAGE ONE is coming out that looks at one year at the New York Times. Looking at the trailer I think it will show the denial that is occurring in much of the old media organizations. News organizations like the New York Times are in the same place network radio was in the nineteen fifties. They can't believe that they are not relevant anymore. When someone like Sohaib Athar can tweet about the raid on the Osama Bin Ladin's compound Sunday before a New York Times reporter based in Pakistan has even woken up and picked up their phone the handwriting is on the wall. Hell, I was blogging in China on a boat floating down the Yangstee River in 2005. I even think I got a question from Brian Stelter (now at the New York Times) about it when he was a student at Towson University and writing TV Newser at the time. Between, bloggers, tweets and You Tube one can get a pretty good idea of what is going on without the bias of the Liberal editors getting in the way. Every individual can decide what news is relevant for them and not have to wait for the 10:30 editors meeting at the New York Times to make that decision. That is a good thing for society but, unfortunately not for old media organizations like the New York Times.

A DEATH IN THE PARK AND THE TRUTH ONLINE

When I am operating out of the BCP Washington D.C. Bureau I often take a walk in Rock Creek Park near the area where Chandra Levy was murdered almost ten years ago. The mainstream media all but, convicted Democratic Congressman Gary Condit in her murder at the time. But, they were wrong.   Levy's body was found in 2002 but, it took the Police until 2009 to arrest a suspect Ingmar Guandique, a 27-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador. Hmmm... and I always keep hearing the illegals only come here to work. Many of us who have pretty much given up on trusting most of the mainstream media to give us the facts in news stories when illegal immigrants are involved. Of course the MSM  love running those sympathetic stories about illegals. But, when it comes to murders by illegals those seem to get buried along with their victims.   Andrew Sullivan has some thoughts on Chandra's murder and how the mainstream press messed up and I think where many people began the distrust of their reporting. He also sees bloggers as being able to shine a spotlight onto the truth where many reporters and media outlets are failing to look. Here are the money quotes:

They don't need to follow the conventions of the 800-word newspaper story and can instead toss out an idea in two sentences that will nonetheless spur national discussion. They can ask questions without necessarily supplying an answer. Critically, bloggers also do not typically rely on official sources for information. Reporters and their anonymous sources both benefit from the relationship. Reporters get exclusive information, which earns them promotions; sources weave narratives that serve their interests. This corrupting symbiosis makes the reporter all too quick to take an official's word at face value.

OBAMA APPROVED PUNDITS

There was closed door private meeting this past Monday at the White House with a select group of media pundits. Of course there was the typical Obama bootlickers like Keith (Obamamann) Olbermann and his fellow liberal lesbian co worker Rachel Madcow. Just One Minute has the complete list:

Kind of sad to see Maureen Dowd and John Dickerson in with the rest of the Obama bootlicking crowd. I just hope they were not forced to drink the Obama Kool Aid but, perhaps they already have and that's why they were invited.

Back on land

I have spent the past three weeks on a sailboat away from computers, and mainstream corporate media TV, newspapers and radio. I did not miss them at all. My only communication was with fellow human beings I came in contact with and the marine VHF radio to listen to weather broadcasts. I am slowly working my way back trying to the land of nonsense and the political campaigns of Barack (change messiah) Obama, Juan McCain and the stupidity of those in Washington. It has been a couple of very calm and peaceful weeks. Though I suspect it will not take long more than a few days before I become outraged by the shenanigans of either the Democrats or Republicans.
