 A few days after the terrorist bombings in Boston the liberal New York Times posted a sympathetic portrait of the terrorists. 

A New York Times feature story on the suspected Boston terrorists showed Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in a sympathetic light, with the headline “Far From War-Torn Homeland, Trying To Fit In” and a black-and-white picture of one of the men."  - MORE HERE

NBC HAS ANOTHER EDITGATE MOMENT TO EXPLAIN

Just another example of why people no longer trust the dying mainstream liberal media in the U.S. The latest outrage once again comes from NBC which should have learned from it's past mistakes or was it a deliberate bias?  This latest editing outrage seems to be a deliberate attempt by people at MSNBC to distort the facts and harm the Romney campaign. From the clip it appears that Mika Brezinski seems to have had a hand in this duplicity as she is the one who pushed the clip to be played. Then she tries to stifle her laugh afterward. Did she know she was putting one over on clueless Joe Scarbourgh? What was her influence behind the scenes inquiring minds want to know? Here is the doctored edited clip as shown on MSNBC and following that the facts as to what really happened at the event:


Some people need to be fired over this deliberate falsification of the facts. Maybe they should start with Mika Brezenski and the producers and the editors who pushed this distortion on the air! Then go after MSNBC exec Phil Griffen who seems to tolerate the distortion and lies.

Even the liberal leaning New York Times reports what actually took place at the Dayton Romney/Ryan rally:

"After Mr. Ryan whooped up the crowd in Vandalia on Tuesday, Mr. Romney moved to the front of the stage. As the crowd began chanting “Romney! Romney!” he cut them off. “Wait a second,” Mr. Romney said, instructing the audience to cheer for 'Romney-Ryan! Romney-Ryan!' They did," the Times reported.- Examiner

It's pretty clear heads need to roll at MSNBC if NBC NEWS wants to salvage any credibility that remains that they really are still a "news" organization and not a part of the Obama campaign's propaganda tactics.  

JILL ABRAMSON: CLUELESS IN NEW YORK TIMES BIAS

POLITICO has interesting media report about the bias at New York Times:

"In his final column for the Times, Brisbane wrote that his fellow staffers "share a kind of political and cultural progressivism" that "virtually bleeds through the fabric of The Times." Brisbane even argued that Times reporters approached some liberal issues, like gay marriage and the Occupy movement, "more like causes than news subjects."  

"Across the paper’s many departments, though, so many share a kind of political and cultural progressivism — for lack of a better term — that this worldview virtually bleeds through the fabric of The Times."

Meanwhile New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson  comments as only a media liberal can:

IMMIGRATION: HOW LIBERALS GOT IT WRONG!

William McGowen has a look back to the the 1965 immigration act and how Liberals like Ted Kennedy and those at the New York Times got it wrong and shaded their reporting. Here are some of the money quotes:

The New York Times just put another nail in the coffin of American journalism following NBC's biased reporting and editing of George Zimmerman's 911 call:

"Today's front-page article in the New York Times on the Trayvon Martin case repeated NBC's attempt to cast George Zimmerman as a racist by selectively editing his 911 call."- Big Journalism

Are the liberal editors of these "news" organizations like NBC NEWS and the New York Times really that stupid and think that they won't be called out on their bias and manipilation of the facts!

SOME ENVIRONMENTALISTS ARE STARTING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE REAL PROBLEM IS.

As the seventh billion person is born somewhere on earth today. Some environmentalists are getting to the root cause of environmental problems. Which is overpopulation! My question is what took them so long? Here is one of the money quotes:

I guess it's a good sign that even liberal mainstream media like the New York Times are finally starting to report on the issue.

OBAMA IS HALFWAY THERE

Hard to tell if a New York Times article is just a PR piece for the Obama administration or a chronicle of a REAL effort by the Obama Administration to start to enforce our immigration laws. But, hopefully it will have a deterrent effect to those businesses that hire illegal immigrants. But, the article also shows that the Obama Administration does the job only halfway: Here are the money quotes:

"But at the arraignment days later in federal court here, no immigrant workers stood before the judge. The only criminal defendants were the owners, Mark Evenson and his son Christopher, and an accountant who worked with them, Diane Ingrid Strehlow. If the Evensons are convicted on all charges against them of tax fraud and harboring illegal workers, they each could face more than 80 years in jail."

I would hope those businesses and their accountants who do try to evade the law do some serious time along with some severe financial financial penalties.  In this case the IRS should also come down hard on them:

The eldest, Alejandro Díaz Ojeda, 36, learned to cook the Chuy’s menu. Then he taught his brother, Javier, who is 30. It seems these brothers were not only working here illegally but, evading taxes also! But, they were let go scott free while they pursue their attempt to get citizenship. WTF! I'd like to not pay taxes on any hours I worked after 40 for 14 years! I guess only illegal immigrants can get away with that without the IRS coming after them. File that under "Hola suckers".

OSAMA IS NOT THE ONLY THING THAT'S DEAD!

I can not remember the last time I picked up and read an article from the New York Times.  A new documentary called PAGE ONE is coming out that looks at one year at the New York Times. Looking at the trailer I think it will show the denial that is occurring in much of the old media organizations. News organizations like the New York Times are in the same place network radio was in the nineteen fifties. They can't believe that they are not relevant anymore. When someone like Sohaib Athar can tweet about the raid on the Osama Bin Ladin's compound Sunday before a New York Times reporter based in Pakistan has even woken up and picked up their phone the handwriting is on the wall. Hell, I was blogging in China on a boat floating down the Yangstee River in 2005. I even think I got a question from Brian Stelter (now at the New York Times) about it when he was a student at Towson University and writing TV Newser at the time. Between, bloggers, tweets and You Tube one can get a pretty good idea of what is going on without the bias of the Liberal editors getting in the way. Every individual can decide what news is relevant for them and not have to wait for the 10:30 editors meeting at the New York Times to make that decision. That is a good thing for society but, unfortunately not for old media organizations like the New York Times.

NEW YORK TIMES & THE CULTURE OF DEPENDENCY

Mickey Kaus noticed that the New York Times seems to be repeating themselves especially when it comes to pushing their liberal agenda and taxpayer subsidized programs. Here is the money quote:

Stigma Fades." ... And people accuse Times editors of having an agenda. ...

But, it's not only food stamps the Times is pushing. A  year ago I mentioned it strange about how  the New York Times was concerned that the Welfare rolls were not increasing. The editors at the New York Times seem to still have their liberal blinders on.

Apparenty the agenda now at the New York Times is to bring back the culture of dependency regarding Federal Government programs like Welfare and Food Stamps big time. I'm sure the Obama Administration approves of this message too. But, do the taxpayers? I doubt it!

DEATH TO THE ACADEMICS?

Those with PhD degrees can sometimes be rather pompous and egotistical. Sometimes the PhD seems to stand for piled higher and deeper. Such an attitude may be irritating but, people don't usually resort to violence against them. Then comes this story in today's New York Times about Professor Richard T. Antoun who was stabbed in his office on Friday. Here are the money quotes:

"A 46-year-old Binghamton University graduate student from Saudi Arabia was charged on Saturday with killing a retired anthropology professor, a specialist in Islamic and Middle Eastern studies with whom he had worked, the authorities said.
The student, Abdulsalam S. al-Zahrani, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of the professor, Richard T. Antoun, who was stabbed in his office in the university’s Science I building on Friday afternoon, said Gerald F. Mollen, the district attorney in Broome County. “We believe the murder weapon was recovered,” he said.
Mr. Mollen said in a statement that Mr. Zahrani and Professor Antoun had known each other through Mr. Zahrani’s “work in the graduate program.” Later, in an interview, the district attorney said that “they’ve known each other for quite some time.” The extent of their contact was not immediately clear."

It's hard to fathom why someone would want to kill a retired Anthropology Professor of Middle Eastern Studies. But, the fact that the person charged was from Saudi Arabia should raise some eyebrows in the post 9/11 era. Dont cha think? That's why I found it curious that the New York Times would bury (no pun intended) this story on page 36 in the regional section of the paper. I know the Times has gone down hill over the past few years in terms of their biased reporting but, have the editors gone so politically correct that this story needs to be buried so far back in the paper? Hell, if some stupid kids on Long Island kill an illegal immigrant (as happened last year in Patchougue LI) it's front page news at liberal papers like the Times. American Professor's don't usually die at the hand of a Saudi national. But, for some reason it' buried on page 36. Curious.

Sol Obama?

Not quite sure to make of this action. The New York Times asked Barack Obama flat out if he was a socialist. He said no. But, that did not stop him a few hours later calling up the Times again to reiterate that he was not. Hmmmm.

Vickie Iseman vs The New York Slime

Carlos Slim the Mexican Billionaire must be breathing a sigh of relief. As it seems none of the 250 million he recently provided to bailout the New York Times will not be going to pay lobbyist Vickie Iseman in a defamation suit. It was a feeble attempt by the paper to slime John McCain by insinuating that he had been having an affair with Univision Lobbyist Vickie Iseman. This of course was nonsense! As is increasingly the case the New York Times and other elites in the media they ignored the real story. Make no mistake people were getting screwed by McCain but, it was the American people. As the Mickey Kaus pointed out:

"Former Univision CEO, controlling shareholder and Iseman client Jerrold Perenchio is a National FInance Co-Chair of McCain's campaign. Presumably he brings in more than $85,000; b) The worry isn't that McCain was taking advantage of Univision, et. al. It's rather the other way around. Or, more precisely, that this was a smarmy, mutually self-interested alliance that helped McCain and Univision in ways that maybe went beyond promoting the national interest. "


That's the real scandal behind this story. It is about the lobbist influence on McCain and explains the real reason why he is always pushing for amnesty for the millions of illegal immigrants (the majority Hispanic). He is shilling for his friends at the Spanish language network Univision and making sure that the audience and Univision's revenue do not head south.

Of course the New York Times completely missed the connection or just ignored it. Just another example of why they continue to go downhill in their reporting and readership.

This is a problem? It is for the New York Times

Another crazy headline from todays New York Times:

Only the ultra liberal editors at the New York Times could find a problem with the fact that the welfare system of the U.S. is not growing and costing U.S. taxpayers more tax dollars. That is what President Bill Clinton and the Republicans had hoped would happen in 1996 when Bill Clinton pledged to "end welfare as we know it". Hello New York Times the system is working there is no need to fix it.

"No Injuries Reported in Iraqi Elections "

What the F?
Here is the exhibit A, the lead paragraph:

"BAGHDAD — Voters turned out early and calmly on Saturday for Iraq’s provincial elections, the first in the country for four years. By noon, halfway through the voting, no one had been reported injured or killed."

Sounds like the editors were dissappointed that nobody was killed or even injured.

The Nueva York Times and Carlos Slim

I have been wondering about all the recent front page stories that have been appearing in the New York Times regarding illegal immigration recently. It appears the Grey Lady is going down on Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim who is giving the paper a $245 million dollar lifeline to stay afloat. Matt Welch at Reason.com has some interesting info on Mr. Slim and what it means for the coverage at the paper. Here are some of the money quotes:

"Let's face it. The New York Times would never strike a deal with a U.S. tycoon of a similar profile, for fear of triggering real or apparent conflicts between the newspaper's coverage and the investor's interests. Not that you could ever find such a U.S. tycoon: The conglomerate of Slim-controlled telecom, banking, tobacco, retailing, insurance, construction, and other interests has been estimated to add up to 7 percent of Mexico's GDP. Even in his heyday, John D. Rockefeller accounted for only about 2 percent of the U.S. economy."

Slims companies control 90% of Mexico's Telephone system and 70% of the wireless phones. I wonder how all the illegals here in the U.S. keep in touch with family in Mexico? Hmmm?

New York Times at it again.

If it's Sunday it must be the New York Times with another liberal tear jerker article about illegal immigrants and down playing the cost of illegal immigrants to U.S. taxpayers. This time it's the story is about an illegal immigrant who changed his name and was involved in a traffic accident here in the U.S. The hospital bills to treat his injuries were over 1.5 million until the hospital sent him back to his family in Guatemala. Of course the lawyers and and church are now involved in suing the hospital over his health care. The Times once home to defrocked journalists who were making up stories now seems to be in the process of making up policy. Calling what the hospital did a "deportation". Hmmm and I thought deportations were the policy of the Federal Government. Or is the New York Times just making this stuff up again.
Here are some of the money quotes:
"The journey to Jolomcú is an arduous one, as Mr. Jiménez’s new legal team discovered when several members — a lawyer, a paralegal, a priest and a bioethicist — first traveled there to meet him."
Amazing what the lure of money from lawsuits will make some people do. Like make "arduous journeys" to foreign countries to find clients.
As usual in the New York Times articles you have to read all the way to the end to see that the "client" is not as brain damaged as the reporting and lawyers might have you believe.
"Much to the surprise of his visitors, Mr. Jiménez, despite his brain injury, could read. He smoothed out the yellow legal paper from Mr. Gaspar and began: “I am sending you some little things. Luis, I hope that you like them.”
At first, Mr. Jiménez read haltingly, then more fluidly. Later, when all his visitors had gone outside, he read the ending aloud again to himself."

I'm sure by the time his lawyers get through with him he will not be able to read at all. We shall see.

Something ain't kosher in Iowa and at the New York Times

The embattled grey lady of newspapers the New York Times has had a series of articles about the immigration raids in May at a "kosher" meat packing plant in Iowa by Julia Preston. It illustrates some of the reasons why the paper is losing it's credibility when it comes to reporting the news. Here are some of the money quotes from today's article:

"POSTVILLE, Iowa — About 1,000 people, including Hispanic immigrants, Catholic clergy members, rabbis and activists, marched through the center of this farm town on Sunday and held a rally at the entrance to a kosher meatpacking plant that was raided in May by immigration authorities."

Hmmm, the usual pro illegal immigrant activists protesting. But, notice no mention of "illegal immigrants" in this first paragraph. I guess the immigration raid in May swept them all up. Yeah right! Why are these "activists" protesting anyway? Read on...

"The march was called to protest working conditions in the plant, owned by Agriprocessors Inc., and to call for Congressional legislation to give legal status to illegal immigrants"

Ah there it is. Everything was fine as long as the illegal immigrants were allowed to violate U.S. laws, commit identity theft and get paid above minimum wage. But, now that the laws are being enforced and the illegal immigrants are being caught it's time to give the illegal workers legal status. Huh?

You need to read until the last three paragraphs to get quotes from people who really know what the immigration raids where really all about.

“It’s a felony when you take someone’s identity, and we think that needs to be out there when you talk about the supposed injustices against undocumented workers,” said Susan Tully of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, an organizer of the counterprotest."

Give the workers legal status after breaking our laws and committing felonies? I don't think so.

The death of Dith Pran

Dith Pran the Cambodian man who survived and walked through the "killing fields" has died. He was Sydney Schanberg's interpreter by was left behind after the war (Vietnam) was over. He was the inspiration for the book THE KILLING FIELDS written by Schanberg.
He was an outspoken critic of the Pol Pot regime and when Pot died he continued:
"The Jewish people's search for justice did not end with the death of Hitler and the Cambodian people's search for justice doesn't end with Pol Pot,"

He died a Buddhist:
I want to save lives, including my own, but Cambodians believe we just rent this body," he said. "It is just a house for the spirit, and if the house is full of termites, it is time to leave."

Eh tu New York Times

Speaking of liberal mainstream corporate media. This New York Times in a piece by Nina Bernstein plays the sympathy angle about recent immigration raids in Greenport Long Island that were aimed at gang members but, also picked up illegal immigrants in the sweep.

To which I say: And the problem is?

You don't have to look to far to see the bias of "The paper of record". The headline reads "Immigrant Workers Caught in Net Cast for Gangs " A little fact the Times editors seemed to have forgotten is that illegal immigrants are not supposed to be working in this country in the first place. But, the Times does not seem to let facts get in the way. Just like the law does not seem to stop the wealthy folks out in the east end of Long Island from hiring the illegals (or paying $10,000 for their bail). There is a priceless photo in the piece of Charlotte Gemmel and Maureen Sanders the "retirees" petting their dog and in the forground their illegal immigrant gardener they provided bail for. It is a photo over looking their gardens and water view property.

Bringing Democrats out of the shadows.

In a New York Times article by LESLIE WAYNE which deals with the hidden agenda of the Democrats to register Hispanic voters. But, true to the liberal bias of the New York Times the article does not even mention the 800 pound gorilla in the country i.e. illegal immigrants at all in the entire article. While I am a registered Democrat I have this crazy notion that our elected officials should represent the wishes of the people. Though the actions of Dems like Eliot Spitzer to give drivers licenses to illegal immigrants seem to show the Dems have other ideas. It's not about representing the people it's about staying in power. Those two ideas are not the same. Here are the money quotes:

"At La Favorita, a Mexican grocery store here, there is plenty of food for sale — and also a new brand of politics.A handwritten sign, hanging over the door, proclaims in Spanish: “Wake up! Register to vote! It is the hour to unite and change our future, the future of our children — and the future of this country!”

I just wonder which country and whose future the Democrats are talking about here. It certainly seems it's not the middle class voters. Of course the Democrats are trying to hide their real political agenda from the citizens:

“Democratic strategists know that the Latino vote is their future,” said Hector Avalos, a professor and founder of the U.S. Latino Studies program at Iowa State University. “But they are having to handle this with kid gloves. They don’t want to anger native Iowans. But they know that there could potentially be millions of new voters nationwide. Democrats are sort of treading lightly, and trying to appease both sides.”

When the the Democrats like the illegal immigrants try to hide their real agenda and continue to ignore the wishes of the people. They do so at their own peril. I also think the temptation to commit voter fraud by the Democrats using the illegal immigrant population in their thirst for political power is a very real possibility. This is not just a threat to the Republicans but, a threat to our Democracy and everyone should be concerned about that no matter what party you are with.
