SUPPORT CHICK FIL A, BOYCOTT CHIPOLTE

The Liberal Democrats are showing just how anti-business the party has become with a number of Democratic politicians calling for the banning of Chick Fil A restaurants in their cities. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel have said that they don't want Chick-fil-A franchises in their cities because the owner of Chick-fil-A is a devout Christian and opposes same-sex marriage.  Now comes New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn an angry, ethnically challenged, liberal, Lesbian who goes one step further. She is calling for the Chick Fil A restaurant at NYU to be closed.  This is crazy talk even for someone as ethically challenged as speaker Quinn is. It was Quinn who in 2008 backed billionaire Mayor Mike Bloomberg on a controversial bill that overturned voter-approved term limits and allowed for the mayor, city council members (including her), and borough presidents to run for third terms, reversing the results of two successive public referendums.  In these hard economic times for any politician to be calling for the closing of any business is just insane. But, that's what crazy Christine Quinn is calling for.

I say support Chik Fil A in fact join others in not being intimidated by the likes of anti free speech Liberals that control the Democratic Party these days.  Yes, even join Antione Johnson for some of those delicious  waffle fries:

But, if you really want to boycott a business how about going after Chipotle . Just remember Chic Fil A does hire gays but, Chipotle for years got away with hiring illegal immigrants. And the Liberals wonder where the jobs went?

OBAMA IS HALFWAY THERE

Hard to tell if a New York Times article is just a PR piece for the Obama administration or a chronicle of a REAL effort by the Obama Administration to start to enforce our immigration laws. But, hopefully it will have a deterrent effect to those businesses that hire illegal immigrants. But, the article also shows that the Obama Administration does the job only halfway: Here are the money quotes:

"But at the arraignment days later in federal court here, no immigrant workers stood before the judge. The only criminal defendants were the owners, Mark Evenson and his son Christopher, and an accountant who worked with them, Diane Ingrid Strehlow. If the Evensons are convicted on all charges against them of tax fraud and harboring illegal workers, they each could face more than 80 years in jail."

I would hope those businesses and their accountants who do try to evade the law do some serious time along with some severe financial financial penalties.  In this case the IRS should also come down hard on them:

"The two of them, who are brothers, said they came to the United States from Mexico in the 1990s. Both had worked most of the time since in Chuy’s restaurants. The eldest, Alejandro Díaz Ojeda, 36, learned to cook the Chuy’s menu. Then he taught his brother, Javier, who is 30. The brothers said they had been treated well. “I became very fond of the company,” Javier said.
Their experience, however, suggests how the Evensons kept their menu prices famously low. The brothers said they were paid an hourly wage — Javier made $9.50 after 14 years — by payroll check for the first 40 hours a week. Any overtime was paid with a different check, with no taxes deducted and no higher rate, they said. Both brothers said they often worked 70 hours a week.

It seems these brothers were not only working here illegally but, evading taxes also! But, they were let go scott free while they pursue their attempt to get citizenship. WTF! I'd like to not pay taxes on any hours I worked after 40 for 14 years! I guess only illegal immigrants can get away with that without the IRS coming after them. File that under "Hola suckers".

OBAMA AND THE U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

I am a amused at how much of the lame stream media tries to once portray President Obama's speech yesterday to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as akin to him going into the Lions Den. It's not! In fact Obama and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are cozy bedfellows when it comes to issues like illegal immigration. The chamber has joined the with groups like the ACLU and the Justice Departments lawsuit against the state of Arizona for their recent attempt to control the runaway illegal immigration problem in that state. The Chamber of Commerce to support illegal immigration is nothing new. It should come as no surprise how the Obama Administration and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce already see eye to eye on preventing Arizona from trying to help control illegal immigrants running amuck int that state. Both Obama and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce want to continue to make failure an option when it comes to illegal immigration enforcement. Obama and the Liberal Democrats so the can turn them into citizens and voters for the Democrats. While the U.S. Chamber of Commerce desires illegal immigration enforcement failures so that business can keep having cheap labor to hire. So I really have to laugh when Obama in his speech yesterday said this:
"Ask yourselves what you can do to hire American workers, to support the American economy, and to invest in this nation. That's what I want to talk about today - the responsibilities we all have to secure the future we all share."
If Obama really cared about the business community making an effort to hire "American workers" he would do more in enforcing our illegal immigration laws. So buinesses could not hire them in the first place. But, he is not! Thats because when it comes to illegal immigration enforcement for both Obama and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce both benefit from continuing failures of illegal immigration enforcement.

Business criminals are upset. Oh my!

I get really pissed off when I hear business groups like the the U.S. Chamber of Commerce complain about the new crackdown on employers who hire illegal immigrants. Perhaps they should change their name to the U.S. Chamber of Business Criminals. Because when their members hire illegals THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW. If these businesses are too stupid to realize that they too are supposed to obey U.S. laws then they deserve to be out of business. Or maybe U.S. consumers should just steal their products why should we obey laws when they don't! Here are some of the pathetic arguments from these "capitalist" criminals who refuse to obey U.S. laws:

"Employers in low-wage industries were critical but guarded, reluctant to admit openly that they hire illegal immigrants. Randel K. Johnson, a vice president of the United States Chamber of Commerce, said the measures were “one more kick in the pants” for meat-packing, construction and health care companies that employ immigrant workers in unskilled jobs. -NY Times

These employers were reluctant to admit that they hire illegals because these creeps can not be honest enough to admit that they are breaking the law. What is the word I am looking for. Despicable might do for now. My neighbors and I go to work each day, obey the law and pay our taxes to help subsidise this illegal workforce. It is the U.S. middle class taxpayer who is getting kicked in the pants when these unscrupulous business hire illegal workers. Not the businesses who are crying because they might just have to obey the law.

Finally! Some enforcement of immigration laws.

It took a while but, there are hopeful signs that a few more people in Washington D.C. are finally getting it when it comes to enforcement of illegal immigrant laws. That includes President Bush amazing as it seems. My optimism comes from yesterday's announcement from Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff that the Federal Government will begin a campaign to tighten border security and to crackdown on employers who hire illegal immigrants. While it is being portrayed as some new initiative by the Federal Government. Those of us who have followed this issue closely know it should simply be called ENFORCING THE LAW! A concept so simple that even an illiterate illegal immigrant can understand it even if some of our politicians don't. Of course there are some who are against even enforcing the law and sad to say many are Democrats. Here are some of the money quotes:

"Sadly, the administration's proposal would make our immigration crisis worse," said Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), one of the key negotiators of the compromise immigration bill that failed in the Senate. "[It] will only exacerbate the already serious problems of our immigration system by causing even more confusion about who can be hired, resulting in the unjust firings of legal workers who look foreign and driving more hardworking people into the shadows."

I'm still trying to figure why a Senator like Ted Kennedy would be against enforcing existing U.S. laws? Perhaps it has something to do with the illegal bootlegging origins of his families wealth. Whatever the reason on the issue of illegal immigration Ted Kennedy still makes me laugh.

"The impact on immigrant-dependent industries such as construction and agriculture -- whose workforce is at least two-thirds illegal -- would be "devastating," predicted Craig Regelbrugge, government relations director for the American Nursery & Landscape Association."

Well, you can certainly see how corrupt the industry Mr. Regelbrugge represents is. Especially when one of their arguments is: Hey we break the law everyday it will be a hardship for the companies I represent to actually obey U.S. laws. It's a pretty pathetic argument. But, he reinforces it further with this quote:

"There's no replacement workforce," he said. "This will give people a set of bad choices: Either they terminate their workers, or they take a deep breath and duck and hope the law doesn't catch up with them. Or, for a lot of people, they're just going to make the decision to get out of the business."

Yes, there is a replacement workforce Mr, Regelbrugge. But, it is a lawful workforce. There are millions of people willing to come here and work legally through a work visa program. Though this may require the companies you represent to pay a higher salary and both the companies and employees to actually pay taxes like the rest of us citizens do. As far as going out of business. If the companies Mr. Rugelbrugge represents can not do business without breaking the law perhaps they have the wrong business model to begin with.
