OBAMA PHONES FOR THE DEAD

Another example of how inept the Obama Administration is at managing Federal Government programs like the one the provides FREE cell phones for low income individuals. The program is so poorly run and managed that phones are being given out to dead people!

Oh yeah and guess who is paying for this program? Take a look at your cell phone bill you will find the answer there.

Looks like my sailing days will be coming to an end for the season soon. So it's back to land for the next few months but, little did I know what horrors would await me once back on terra firma. Mo money Obama & the Audacity of B.S.

"I am signing an imperfect omnibus bill because it is necessary for the ongoing functions of government," -President Obama

What B.S.! President Obama did not have to sign this "imperfect bill" Omnibus spending bill that increases costs to us taxpayers by 8% over last year budget. He could have vetoed it and Congress could have passed a continuing resolution to fund the government at the current rate. Not a bad idea since he has already spent over a trillion dollars in his first fifty days as President. Then he had the audacity to issue a signing statement something he criticised George Bush for doing. Here is the money quote from the AP:

"Two days after criticizing his predecessor for issuing guidelines on how to put legislation into
practice, President Barack Obama issued such a directive himself."

It's not change but, hypocrisy that Obama has bought to Washington.

This is a problem? It is for the New York Times

Another crazy headline from todays New York Times:

Only the ultra liberal editors at the New York Times could find a problem with the fact that the welfare system of the U.S. is not growing and costing U.S. taxpayers more tax dollars. That is what President Bill Clinton and the Republicans had hoped would happen in 1996 when Bill Clinton pledged to "end welfare as we know it". Hello New York Times the system is working there is no need to fix it.

Divided we have more debate and responsible government

The Washington Post has an article today about the argument some Republicans are using during there reelection campaign, That is one party rule would allow an unchecked government to run amok. There are even concerns among the Democrats that they could over reach in there legislation. Here are the money quotes:

"In both chambers, liberal stalwarts are eager to turn on the spigot for increased spending on health-care, housing and education programs."

Somebody needs to tell these liberals. It's not about spending it's about governing.

"Democrats will face an early test when it takes up the children's health insurance bill vetoed by President Bush, as one of the new Congress's first tasks next year. The legislation would offer coverage to an additional 4 million children and is being portrayed by Democrats as a first step toward fulfilling Obama's pledge to provide universal health care.
Liberal Democrats are expected to expand the program further, to include children of illegal immigrants. But Hoyer said that would be asking for too much, financially and politically. "

And the American people especially don't want there money to be spent on illegal immigrants who have broken our laws.

"You might be able to do big things that have been blocked by divided government," said David Rohde, a Duke University political scientist. "But the potential pitfall is you can overreach, alienate the opposition party and alienate independents -- sowing the seeds of your own destruction."

Very true. The danger is once the liberal Democrats get near the money they can't won't be able to stop spending it. Much like the Republicans in the recent past.

From today's Washington Post:
"Federal authorities think that nearly $50 million was stolen in an embezzlement scheme run out of the D.C. tax office, more than double the amount they had previously uncovered, four sources close to the investigation said.

The corruption at the D.C. Office of Tax and Revenue went undetected much longer than initially thought, the sources said, extending back almost 20 years. In addition to tracking the missing money, authorities are looking into gifts suspected of being provided to co-workers and others by the woman accused of leading the scam, former tax office manager Harriette Walters."

I only hope that our Federal Prosecuters get down to the bottom of this and other thefts of taxpayer money. Because people who steal taxpayer money are stealing from everyone of us.

While I enjoy posting on this blog daily. There are times to take a break and this is one of those times. I will be heading to Belize where I will be spending a week on board a 47 foot sailing catamaran out of sight of the mainland and modern communications as much as possible.
