DEMOCRATS STAND UP AGAINST THE RULE OF LAW!

You can't find a more indicting video than this one where the Democrats (including Vice President  Joe Biden) in Congress applaud the Hispanic Hypocrite of Mexico President Philip Calderon when he bashes the Arizona law that mimics the Federal Law while in his country the laws against illegal immigration are much more severe.
Someone needs to tell the Liberal Dems that they should be supporting communities in the U.S. that are trying to correct the failings of the Federal Government and not be applauding hypocritical heads of state like Mexico's Calderon.

"Stopping" illegal immigration Mexican style

Perhaps the U.S. Government could learn a thing or two from the Mexican Government on how to find illegal immigrants within a country's borders. Here are the money quotes from the New York Times:

"Between January and September, the National Migration Institute, Mexico’s immigration service, deported 350 Americans, some of them lawbreakers who had finished prison sentences in the country, but others merely travelers who were found to be without proper paperwork.
One of them was the scruffy wanderer in his early 40s who goes by the name Crash, eschews regular employment and racks up stories of his adventures.
“I didn’t know you could be deported from Mexico,” he said, requesting that his full name not be used to avoid running further afoul of the law. “I didn’t know it was possible. Now I know.”
He said he had been riding in the back of a pickup truck from Huatulco, a popular vacation spot in the southern state of Oaxaca, to the resort city of Acapulco several weeks ago when the vehicle approached a checkpoint. The authorities asked Crash for his passport. He did not have one.
He said he was taken away and later found himself in a police lineup. He said he had been told that a woman had been robbed in Acapulco by a blond man with a goatee. Looking at the other men in the lineup, Crash said they could have been his brothers, all of them blond and with goatees.
He was not chosen as the robber but said he was sent to jail nonetheless, which was not an altogether unpleasant experience for Crash. “The cell was better than some of the 300-peso hotel rooms I’ve stayed in,” he said. “The only thing was that it had bars.”
He said he spent about a week there while the American Consulate prepared travel documents for him. When informed that he was going to be deported to the United States, he said he initially could not believe it. “I thought to myself, ‘You’ve got to be kidding. This is a joke. You’re deporting me from Mexico?’ "

See how easily it's done? Perhaps someone at Homeland Security would take note of this.

Pope urges continued invasion of U.S.

Ignored by the mainstream liberal media is the Pope's call for continued illegal immigration into the United States. The Pope bought his Papal B.S. shovel with him as he like many pro illegal immigrant advocates refuse to make the distinction between legal immigration and illegal immigrants. While many on Capitol Hill like Nancy Pelosi and others were kissing the Popes hand at least one pol Tom Tancredo was speaking out and standing up for the United States. here are some of the money quotes:

"Pope Benedict XVI said the United States must do “everything possible to fight … all forms of violence so that immigrants may lead dignified lives.”

To which Tom Tancredo responds: “I would like to know what part of our lax immigration policy is considered violent,” “I fail to see how accepting more refugees than any other nation –and providing free health care, education,
housing and social service benefits to millions of illegal aliens is in any way ‘violent’ or ‘degrading.’”

“I want to encourage you and your communities to continue to welcome the immigrants who join your ranks today, to share their joys and hopes, to support them in their sorrows and trials and to help them flourish in their new home.”

Wait a minute I just thought they came here to work? So nice of the Pope to invite the illegals to make them selves at home in our country. Perhaps it would be better if he invited them to live in the Vatican. Or as Tancredo said: “ it is not in his job description to engage in American politics.”

As the Catholic church here in the U.S. has declining membership among U.S. citizens Tancredo points out the real reason for the Pope's advocacy for continued illegal immigration into the United States: “I suspect the Pope’s immigration comments may have less to do with spreading the gospel than they do about recruiting new members of the church,” said Tancredo. “This isn’t preaching it is ‘faith-based’ marketing.”

More good news about illegal immigration.

"TUCSON- Politicians from the Mexican state bordering Arizona say they are receiving reports of migrants who are "self-deporting" and landing in border communities because of Arizona's employer sanctions law. The full effect of the law, which calls for punishing Arizona employers who knowingly employ illegal immigrants but hasn't been used yet, is troublesome and unknown for Mexican lawmakers along the border."We have yet to feel the full impact, but the moment (immigrants) leave Arizona, we're going to have problems," said Enrique Flores Lopez, director of the state migrant advocacy department in the state of Sonora. " - Arizonia Republic

I say to these Mexican Officials Mi problemo , Su problemo! To which I add to our U.S. officials what a surprise ! Enforcement works! Please make a note of this.

"Nogales legislator Leticia Amparano, who met with Arizona lawmakers to learn more about the new law and its enforcement, said Mexican lawmakers have collected anecdotes about crowded classrooms and more people roaming the streets of downtown Nogales, Mexico, in search of assistance."

No say it isn't so! That sounds just like some towns like here in suburban Long Island:

Sonora Gov. Eduardo Bours, said Mexico must do more than point a finger at the U.S.He launched the initiative "Migrantes Trabajando" ("Working Migrants") for deported countrymen who want to stay in Sonora. The program is designed to assist all deported workers, not just those from Arizona."We need to find the opportunities in our country," Bours said. "To me, it seems too easy to blame the United States and not do anything ourselves."

At least there is one elected official who knows what needs to be done. Unfortunately it's not Clinton, Obama or McCain it's Mexico's Governor of Sonora Eduardo Bours. But, at least someone is starting to understand the problem and is taking steps to allow the people of Mexico to live and stay in there own country instead of coming here illegally. And that's good news!

Whose country is this again?

"TUCSON- A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora (Mexico)traveled to Tucson to make the case against Arizona's new employer sanctions law,The lawmakers say it will have a devastating affect on the Mexican state. At a news conference Tuesday, they said Sonora cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools it will face as illegal Mexican workers in Arizona return to their hometowns without jobs or money." - Associated Press
You can not make this stuff up. And exactly why are these conditions in Mexico our problem? Why is it that we U.S. citizens have to put up with the housing conditions, crime, subsidize the health care and pay the school taxes for these illegal immigrants? It gets better. Here are some more of the money quotes:

"How can they pass a law like this?" asked Mexican Rep. Leticia Amparano Gamez, who represents Nogales."

Well, I suspect the reason Senorita Gamez is that it is still our country and we can make the laws even if the people from your country do not respect them. Which is the reason why the illegal immigrants should not be shown any respect too. You see there is a still a difference when you cross the border from Mexico.

"What do we do with the repatriated?" he asked. "As Mexicans, we are worried. They are Mexicans but they are also people's fathers and mothers and young people with jobs who won't have work in Sonora."

If you ask me you as elected officials of Mexico should be looking to bring jobs into your area. Another thing you need to remember is that the United States is a Republic not an employment agency for Mexico. Try and rember that.

In Mexico it's sex, drugs and death.

The Washington Post has an article on the Mexican music industry here are some of the money quotes:

"Sergio Gómez, 34, was the latest of a dozen pop musicians to have been killed in the past year in Mexico. Nearly every one of the slayings bore the hallmarks of the drug cartel hitmen blamed for 4,000 deaths in the country in the past two years."

"Among music industry insiders, Sergio Gómez's death and the previous killings are also forcing a quiet assessment of the influence drug trafficking kingpins wield over the business. It is common knowledge in Mexico's music industry, but not known to the general public, that drug cartels finance the careers of some budding musicians, then launder money through unregulated concert ticket sales, according to industry sources, musicians and law enforcement. "

Just as the drug gangs of Mexico help some of these Mexican muscians achieve fame they also help illegal immigrants cross our borders by giving them backpacks full of drugs to carry across the in exchange for coyotes to guide them into our country. Of course the mainstream media often ignores this little tidbit in their stories of illegal immigrants.

Two unbelizable taxi rides

My trip to Belize was a wonderful week away week away from TV, Internet and various other media. Just a week of being on a boat, snorkeling, swimming and staring. Along with a few beers (of course) and a rum punch or two at sunset. My trip to this corrupt though beautiful Central American country was bookended by taxi rides from and too the airport. On arrival as we drove toward Belize City I noticed some fellows fishing along a river. I asked the driver what they were fishing for. He scowled they were probably Mexicans who came across the border looking for work. Then said that the river use to be full of fish before they came in and fished it out. It seems immigration from Mexico is an issue on both sides of the Mexican border.

On the way to the airport I also had another moment that also tied into immigration. Our cab was stopped at a Police checkpoint where a Belizian Police officer sternly but, politely asked our taxi driver for his license as check. As the driver opened his wallet I noticed that he also had a California drivers license. Though I doubt anyone would check to make sure he was in California legally before he got it. As the saying on the front of the bar in the photo says "It's a sunny place for shady people".

What Clinton, Obama & Bush don't understand.

While Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards continue to do a John Kerry on the issue of illegal immigration. They just don't seem to get what is so infuriating to many Americans on the issue of illegal immigration. These political elites just do not seem to understand the anger of U.S. citizens. John Derbyshire at the National Review has an excellent primer for these clueless elites:

"It was noticed years ago that the gap between elite opinion and public opinion on immigration issues is extraordinarily wide, as these gaps go. Some of this is naked self-interest: wealthy business types liking cheap, docile labor forces, rich folk of all stripes appreciating cheap & meek domestic servants. Some part arises from the guilty conscience that rich people always have, even in the U.S.A., known that all wealth and success is to some degree a product of dumb luck. From this you get patronizing noblesse oblige attitudes directed most particularly at those who are obviously poor. (The lower-middle classes don't seem to get much noblesse oblige directed their way.) Some comes from the "diversity" indoctrination that most elite types got while passing through their elite colleges and law schools. A big part arises from the simple and inescapable fact that elites don't share the anxieties of ordinary folk. They don't worry, as the rest of us do, about property values, losing a job, or affording health care."

He also has a spot on explanation the surprise that those in Washington got when they tried to ram through the "Comprehensive" Immigration Amnesty Bill earlier this year:

"Our Senators stir themselves from their oak-paneled offices and antique-leather armchairs to cook up a new scheme to amnesty all those polite, nice folk who are doing their yard work for them. Seems like a great idea! Then suddenly they can't hear themselves talk for the roar of phone calls and faxes coming in from their constituents. Elite Back-Down Two. It's all totally baffling to them. Who are these people making such a fuss about a perfectly reasonable, humane proposal?
It's us, buddy, the great unwashed. This is still a democracy we have here. Try to keep that in mind, eh?"

I would also add that these elites had also better understand that the United States is a Republic and not an employment agency for Mexico or any other country.

Whose country is this anyway?

George Bush went to Iraq to put on another dog and pony show about the improvements in that country. As usual the corporate media dutifully followed the stunt at at a U.S. airbase but, of course Bush did not go out and meet with the Iraqi people much like he has refused to listen to the American people on issues like illegal immigration. Here is the money quote:

"General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker tell me if the kind of success we are now seeing continues, it will be possible to maintain the same level of security with fewer American forces,"

Meanwhile Mexican President Felipe Calderon is upset because the United States is apparently attempting to enforce it's immigration laws which after years of non enforcement is upsetting people who have broken them. It seems he has a different rules as far as where his countries borders lie. Here is the money quote:

"I have said that Mexico does not stop at the border, that wherever there is a Mexican, there is Mexico."

To which I say come home President Bush and bring some troops with you. Because there appears to be an invasion happening here in the U.S. and you need to stop it NOW!

From the folks who bought you porous borders!

"The Bush administration Thursday announced its plan to have U.S. inspectors oversee Mexican trucking companies that carry cargo across the border."- Washington Post

Just when you think the illegal immigration problem can't get any worse the weasels in Washington push Mexican trucks on our highways. Here is the money quote:

"The Bush pilot project will allow Mexican truck companies to travel from Mexico throughout the United States and back. No hazardous material shipments will be permitted."

Of course their is no mention of illegal immigrants. Don't expect that Bush administration which can not see an illegal immigration problem if they camped out on the White House lawn to enforce immigration law when semi trailers filled with illegals from Mexico start to travel our highways let alone borders areas.

My personal foreign aid program..

I just returned from my vacation in Mexico to catch some pre winter warmth, feel a soft warm breeze and once again smell the sea . I spoke Spanish to the locals and the staff at the hotel though many also spoke English. When I travel I try and speak as much as I can in the native language of the country. Unlike many illegals in this country who despite being here for even ten or twenty years have never picked up any English. A situation made easier for them by federal and state policies that print forms in Spanish which does not encourage illegals to assimilate into the American mainstream.
The resort I stayed at was an all inclusive resort right on the water. I spread my money around generously in tips. The people there worked hard and the service was good. But, I also looked at from a different perspective. I was not there to exploit the situation of those residents of Mexico. It was cheaper for me to spread some of my money there than exploit the locals so much that they find it better to come across the U.S. border illegally and settle in our communities increasing, school and social service taxes. It's my personal foreign aid program and if more tourists did the same perhaps the illegal immigration problem in this country would start to diminish.
