Bush law.
"Democratic Senate leaders have called on the White House to consult them closely during the selection process, but administration officials warned yesterday that the president intends to nominate an attorney general who agrees with his policies. "It is the president's prerogative to appoint someone who shares his views," a senior administration official said"
Shares his views? Like having an open border? Like not prosecuting people who have entered the country illegally until they have been caught six times. If that's the case he basically wants someone who does not uphold the law.
"They're less concerned about confirmability and more concerned about the candidate's ability to steer affairs in away that is consistent with good problem-solving down the road," said a lawyer familiar with the selection process. "That means some combination of being a straight arrow and having a forceful presence, along with the diplomatic skills necessary to deal with the Hill."
TRANSLATION: They want someone who will protect George Bush's ass no matter what arrogant and harmful policy he dreams up. It's less important that the Attorney General enforce U.S. law it's more important to defend and protect the Bush family especially George Bush.

I guess it won't be long before Bush's brain will have left the building.

Up in smoke?
I smell smoke from the dollars that are on fire in the U.S. taxpayers wallets! Welcome to Baghdad.

Somebody's lying.
The judge, prosecutor and defense attorney involved in the case have said that Gonzales met with the judge and argued that jury service would pose a potential conflict of interest for Bush, who could be asked to pardon the defendant. Gonzales has disputed that account. He made no mention of meeting with the judge in a written statement submitted to the Senate Judiciary Committee.-Washington Post

What is this world coming too?
The Attempt to Blackmail the American People by Threatening to Refuse to Enforce the Law Without a New Bill Is Disgraceful: A number of powerful figures in the Bush Administration and in the Senate have been saying that if we do not agree to pass this destructive bill, they will never enforce the law. Tell your senator that this is an extraordinary effort to blackmail the American people by having officials state that they will fail to perform their sworn duty, and we won't stand for it.-Newt Gingrich
Are you listening Mr. Chertoff?

Send Michael Chertoff, Bush & Congress a White Flag of Surrender
"Chertoff acknowledged there is "a fundamental unfairness" in legislation that permits illegal immigrants to remain in the United States but said trying to force them to leave would be impossible, USA Today reported."
Let me get this straight Mr. Chertoff you as Homeland Security Secretary are saying the United States Government can no longer enforce it's laws within it's own borders? You are admitting that you and the Federal Government have no control over who comes into the United States i.e. there are no borders. Since you have not been able to secure them. And you have no power to enforce the laws of this country when they are broken. Why is there even a Department of Homeland Security? You have surrendered the laws of this country to those who are able to break them.
"We are bowing to reality," Chertoff said."
No, Mr. Chertoff you are admitting the FAILURE of the Federal Government to secure the borders of the United States and that the U.S. government can no longer enforce immigration laws within it's borders. You are surrendering to those who break our laws. The flag that flys from the flagpole outside Homeland Security and the Whitehouse should be a changed from an American flag to a white flag of surrender. Everyone should send Chertoff and Bush as well as any of the Senators who vote for this Senate amnesty bill a white flag because they want to surrender the laws of this country to those who are able to break them. As for me I have chosen to stand and fight!

Bush on Immigration. Be careful what you wish for.
But, the 800 pound Gorilla standing behind Bush at the podium was a report released last week by the the Heritage Foundationon on the fiscal impacts of low skilled workers like most of the illegal immigrants are. In the study, researchers found that low skilled workers, defined as those without a high school diploma, will cost the United States $3.9 trillion over the ten years.
As usual it will be middle class taxpayers who will be opening their wallets to pay these costs.

Illegal immigrants are upset? So are American taxpayers!
"The White House's draft plan, leaked last week, calls for a new "Z" visa that would allow illegal immigrant workers to apply for three-year work permits. They would be renewable indefinitely, but would cost $3,500 each time.To get a permit and become legal permanent residents, illegal immigrants would have to return to their home country, apply at a U.S. embassy or consulate to re-enter legally and pay a $10,000 fine. "- Washington Post
Hmmm, the illegals who cross our border have no problem paying coyotes $5,000 to help them illegally cross our borders. But, scream when they have to pay $3,500 to be allowed to legally work here for three years. And if they want to become an upstanding citizen of this country they need to pay a fine of $10,000 which won't even cover the costs that U.S. taxpayers have laid out to support their illegal stay in the United States. I'd say that is pretty ungrateful of them.

We don't need to send you no stinking papers!
Very interesting that Gonzales and the Justice Department are refusing to turn over documents to the Senate Judiciary Committee investigators. It's no surprise since the documents already turned over show clearly how the Federal Government has FAILED the American people on issues like illegal immigration. If you ever wonder how hundreds of illegal immigrants can be lining the streets of your town. You need to look no further than the some of the documents already released by the Justice Department. As this Associated Press report states:
"Guidelines issued by U.S. attorneys in Texas showed that most illegal immigrants crossing into the state had to be arrested at least six times before federal authorities would prosecute them, according to an internal Justice Department memo."

Another immigration crisis in the Hamptons?
But this year, federal officials surprised the company when they denied temporary visas for the workers." -Newsday
Hmmm, President George Bush wants a guest worker program as part of "comprehensive immigration reform" legislation. Then all of a sudden the Department of Labor puts the squeeze on a temporary visa program that has been working for years providing temporary labor for the hotels and resorts of the east end of Long Island. Something smells fishy especially since immigration reform is hot in Washington this year.
Here are the money quotes:
"I have never seen a bigger disaster than the Department of Labor has created this year," said Libby Whitley, president of Mid-Atlantic Solutions, a Virginia-based agency that handles the petitioning process for employers in several states, including New York."
So it looks the Bush administration deliberately created a crisis so that Bush and the pro-illegal amnesty groups including the gang of four and others could push through an immigration plan geared to their interests of businesses and pro-amnesty groups not those of the American people and U.S. border security.
"If we don't get them, I don't know what we would do," said Carolina Swanson, director of human resources for the company, which manages 16 resort and residential properties on the South Fork. "I really don't have a Plan B."
How about this for a plan B. Raise the salary you are offering so that it will be attractive to local citizens, High School and college students. I love it when businesses preach about the law of supply and demand when they raise their prices but, scream when it effects them.
"On Monday at 9 a.m., [Congressman Tim] Bishop and local officials will hold a public meeting with business owners at Gurney's Inn in Montauk to discuss solutions."
This fits in nicely with Congressman Tim Bishop's agenda which is in agreement with President Bush in regards to an amnesty for illegal immigrants already in the country meanwhile he voted against legislation that would have increased security at the borders and cracked down on illegal immigrants already in the country . Funny how quickly Congressman Bishop calls a meeting with business owners on Monday at 9 a.m. But, has ignored the concerns of his constituents for years about the hundreds of illegal immigrants loitering around in middle class communities all over his district on Long Island.
It certainly looks like this "visa crisis" was manufactured by those in Washington from President Bush to Congressman Bishop to give them cover to push through an immigration reform plan that helps businesses that want cheap disposable labor while ignoring the concerns of the middle class taxpayers who will be subsidizing this workforce. They must think we are fools.

The White House of sand and fog.
"We care about the suffering of the Iraqi people. I mentioned in my opening comments that there's a lot of food ready to go in. There's something like 55,000 oil-for-food distribution points in Iraq. We know where they are. We fully intend to make sure that they're -- got ample food. We know where their hospitals are; we want to make sure they've got ample medical supplies. The life of the Iraqi citizen is going to dramatically improve. "

What's that fishy smell at the Justice Department
"The White House approved the firings of seven U.S. attorneys late last year after senior Justice Department officials identified the prosecutors they believed were not doing enough to carry out President Bush's policies on immigration, firearms and other issues, White House and Justice Department officials said yesterday."
Bush's policy on immigration? What a laugh! There is no policy on immigration except to allow millions of illegal immigrants to continue to break the law. Even convicted illegal immigrant fugitives can hide in plain sight for months like Elvira Arellano with no action by the Department of Justice and the Bush administration. Of course the Justice Department under Bush's former legal waterboy Alberto R(aza) Gonzales seems to have plenty of time and resources to railroad U.S. border agents and other law enforcement officers protecting U.S. borders.
The Justice Department received several letters dating to 2005 and signed by more than a dozen California lawmakers, mostly Republicans, raising concerns about then-U.S. Attorney Carol S. Lam's approach to prosecuting immigration cases. Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, a Democrat, also wrote Gonzales in June, saying that the "low prosecution rates have a demoralizing effect on the men and women patrolling our nation's borders."
How about the millions of letters emails and phone calls the White House has received by U.S. citizens complaining about illegal immigrantion issues in our communities. Well, the fish rots from the head. As far as the lack of action by the attorneys on the problem on lack of enforcement on illegal immigration. It is the direct result of the lack leadership of the Attorney General Alberto R(aza) Gonzales. If there is anyone who should be fired it is Attorney General Gonzales!

From the folks who bought you porous borders!
Just when you think the illegal immigration problem can't get any worse the weasels in Washington push Mexican trucks on our highways. Here is the money quote:
"The Bush pilot project will allow Mexican truck companies to travel from Mexico throughout the United States and back. No hazardous material shipments will be permitted."
Of course their is no mention of illegal immigrants. Don't expect that Bush administration which can not see an illegal immigration problem if they camped out on the White House lawn to enforce immigration law when semi trailers filled with illegals from Mexico start to travel our highways let alone borders areas.
