CONYERS: The coward, the criminal and the "powers that be"
"Pittsburgh lawyer Heather Heidelbaugh, whose testimony about ACORN at a March 19 hearing on voting issues prompted Mr. Conyers to call for a probe, said she was perplexed by Mr. Conyers' explanation for his change of heart.
"If the chair of the Judiciary Committee cannot hold a hearing if he want to [then] who are the powers that he is beholden to?" she said. "Is it the leadership, is it the White House, is it contributors? Who is 'the power?'"
Indeed who are the "powers that be" that led Conyers to drop any hearings into ACORN. It's a question that won't be asked by the liberal mainstream media that's for sure. But, we citizens should be demanding an answer to.

Somebody's lying.
The judge, prosecutor and defense attorney involved in the case have said that Gonzales met with the judge and argued that jury service would pose a potential conflict of interest for Bush, who could be asked to pardon the defendant. Gonzales has disputed that account. He made no mention of meeting with the judge in a written statement submitted to the Senate Judiciary Committee.-Washington Post

Speaking of the end of the road.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick J. Leahy threatened yesterday to request a perjury investigation of Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales, as Democrats said an intelligence official's statement about a classified surveillance program was at odds with Gonzales's sworn testimony.-Washington Post
Well, at least Alberto Gonzales is a useful punching bag. It distracts critics from focusing on George Bush. That may be why Gonzales has Bush's complete support.

Illegals, Fugitives and more Federal Government failures!
Hmmm, I know of one fugitive who is hiding in plain sight in Chicago. Her name is Elvira Arellano. Or did the Homeland Security lose track of her too!

Illegal Immigration: The cause and effect.
"Guidelines issued by U.S. attorneys in Texas showed that most illegal immigrants crossing into the state had to be arrested at least six times before federal authorities would prosecute them, according to an internal Justice Department memo.
The disclosure provides a rare view of how federal authorities attempt to curb illegal immigration. The memo was released this week in response to a congressional investigation of the dismissals of eight U.S. attorneys."- Washington Post

Gonzales is protecting what?
"I'm not going to resign," "I'm going to stay focused on protecting our kids." - 3/22/07
Of course he did not say anything about protecting the U.S. borders. In fact when it comes to protecting the United States the Justice Department under Raza Gonzales has been hurting the U.S. justice not enforcing it.
Whether it is prosecuting U.S. Border Patrol agents Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos. Including ignoring evidence at their trial like having the Department of Homeland Security lie about evidence.
Or prosecuting other law enforcement border agents like Edwards County Deputy Sheriff Guillermo F. Hernandez.
Meanwhile fugitives like Elvira Arellano are hiding in plain site in Chicago and Alberto R(aza) Gonzales does not lift a finger to see that justice is done in that case. So when Gonzales he needs to "protect our kids" someone needs to kick his butt and say NO! You are supposed to protect the United States period and that includes our borders and those bringing to justice people like Ms. Arellano who make a mockery of justice. But, obviously Gonzales is more interested in protecting the illegal immigrants who violate our laws than protecting our borders.

An American Injustice!

It can really turn your stomach to see how our Federal Government can persecute these two Border Patrol Agents who were pursuing a drug dealer who crossed the U.S. border. Meanwhile, President Bush used his pardon powers for:
"Pardons For Drug Dealers, Jail For Border Patrol Agents
President George W. Bush has pardoned 14 criminals, including several drug dealers and a man convicted for bombing a coal mine, but he refused to pardon two U.S. Border Patrol agents sentenced to prison for intercepting an illegal immigrant drug smuggler at the Texas-Mexico border last year. "

SADDAM HANGED AND GOES TO HELL...

OOPS! Wrong victim.
"We are reminded today of how far the Iraqi people have come since the end of Saddam Hussein’s rule — and that the progress they have made would not have been possible without the continued service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform. " George W. Bush 12/29/06
"Dec. Deadliest Month in Iraq for U.S." -Washington Post
"Many difficult choices and further sacrifices lie ahead."-George W. Bush 12/29/06
Except for his children.
