SENATOR LINDSEY GRAHAM HELPING ILLEGALS WHILE HURTING AMERICANS

The liberal mainstream media love Republican's like John McCain and Lindsey Graham because they back up Obama and the Democrats plan on "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" which includes a path to amnesty for illegal immigrants. But, the real truth is these RHINOs are actually selling out the American workers and they just don't care. Here is exhibit A:

ALEXANDRA PELOSI, BILL MAHER AND OBAMA BUCKS

"Alexandra Pelosi debuted a video she made for HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" last night. The video shows multiple welfare recipients in New York City proclaiming they were at the welfare office to get their "Obama bucks" and that they supported Obama because he "gives me stuff." Pelosi reported that people at the HBO headquarters in New York had said to her "you can't show this" even though just last week the ran a controversial video showing Mississippi voters saying inflammatory things against the president." - BIG JOURNALISM

Alexandra Pelosi (you know the daughter of Nancy Pelosi who just happened to get a job at NBC during the 2004 election campaign while most other J-School grads got to start their careers in Polokaville) was on Bill Mahers HBO show trying to neutralize the outrage of the hit piece on the southern states last week. But, of course it gave her and Maher another reason to run parts of the biased piece that aired last week once again. To her credit Pelosi exposed what many on the right already feel that the prevailing attitude in major media organizations like HBO is liberal and they try will try and suppress or at least discourage anything that puts Liberal Democratic policies in a bad light. But, she also exposes her own biases we she says in her talk with Bill Maher "We are losing them". "We" meaning the Democratic Party is losing the vote of working class people like her doorman and limo driver because of all the entitlements the Liberals are providing making it easy for people not to have to work and how many are taking advantage of it. While the rest of us continue to work because of our work ethic. Also amusing is Bill Maher trying to justify the entitlement culture while denigrating the culture of Americans in the south. OBAMA AND TEDDY ROOSEVELT? NOT EVEN CLOSE!

So President Obama attempted to equate himself with Teddy Roosevelt. Not even close. Well you could cite the difference in military and executive experience between the two but, that would too obvious. No, there are other areas where Teddy Roosevelt would in no uncertain terms show Obama a thing or two where he is failing the country. Here is some of the money quotes from our misguided Commander and Chief:

“This country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair share and when everyone plays by the same rules,” -President Obama

Same rules Obama? Please don't make me laugh! How about the millions of illegal immigrants that you are allowing to remain here in this country. Are they playing by the same rules? When they steal someones identity is that fair.  When illegal immigrants undercut the wages of American workers in the construction and other industries yet you do nothing to stop it. Is that fair?  Hmmmm, now what would Teddy Roosevelt say about that? How about:

 "No man is above the law and no man is below it: nor do we ask any man's permission when we ask him to obey it." -Theodore Roosevelt

In fact the Obama Administration does everything in it's power to stop anybody that attempts to make sure that illegal immigrants obey our laws. As the Obama Administration  has done over and over in Arizona, Alabama and South Carolina. No, sir when it comes to making sure American laws are obeyed Obama and the Democrats do everything in their power to make sure they not enforced. They even go further as to release those illegals who have broken out laws back into U.S. communities. As Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitiano recently admitted.

No President Obama the only Teddy that you should compare yourself with is this one:

OBAMA'S SNOW JOB ON JOBS!

As the country awaits the joint session of Congress speech from President Obama let's take a look at how this jobs charade issue will probably pan out. At the labor day rally on Monday President Barack Obama said Monday that congressional Republicans must put their "country ahead of their party" and vote to create new jobs. The question is which country is he talking about? The trouble is the Obama Administration has shown time and time again it does not put AMERICAN workers ahead of those here illegally from other countries. As Obama's Labor Secretary Hilda Solis said in no uncertain terms last week. Think about that as Obama gives his speech on Thursday and talks about getting jobs to unemployed construction workers  Then take a look at what has happened in the past:

"An Alabama employment agency that sent 70 laborers and construction workers to job sites in that state in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina says the men were sent home after just two weeks on the job by employers who told them "the Mexicans had arrived" and were willing to work for less. Linda Swope, who operates Complete Employment Services Inc. in Mobile, Ala., told The Washington Times last week that the workers -- whom she described as U.S. citizens, residents of Alabama and predominantly black -- had been "urgently requested" by contractors hired to rebuild and clear devastated areas of the state, but were told to leave three job sites when the foreign workers showed up."-Diggers Realm

"Tens of thousands of jobs created by the economic stimulus law could end up filled by illegal immigrants, particularly in big states such as California where undocumented workers are heavily represented in construction, experts on both sides of the issue say. Studies by two conservative think tanks estimate immigrants in the United States illegally could take 300,000 construction jobs, or 15% of the 2 million jobs that new taxpayer-financed projects are predicted to create."-USA TODAY

Just go take a look at any construction or renovation site in your area and see who is actually working there. Yeah, you might see an American foreman on the job but, the workers will probably not be American or even here in this country legally and that is just what the business groups and the Obama administration have no problem with. 

DEMOCRATS ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT HIRING BILL

While the Democrats try to tout Senate majority leader Harry Reid's "HIRE" bill as a major accomplishment. This bill does necessarily mean it will help hire more Americans. Indeed it seems to have left out provisions that would have made sure that those hired are legally allowed to work in this country.
The Reid bill has two primary tax provisions that are intended to spur employment. The first would exempt employers from payroll taxes for new employees hired before January 1, 2011. (§101) A qualifying employer is virtually any employer except government bodies, although an exception is created for colleges and universities. To be a qualifying employee, the worker must:

(1) Begin employment with a qualified employer after February 3, 2010, but before year end;

(2) Sign an affidavit stating that he/she was not employed for more than 40 hours during the 60-day period prior to beginning employment with the qualified employer;

(3) Not displace another of the qualified employer’s workers; and

(4) Not be a relative, broadly defined, of the employer. (See §101)

Nowhere in Section 101, however, is there a requirement that the individual be legal. Nor does the language require that the employer use E-Verify to verify work authorization. The language appears to allow employers to receive tax breaks for hiring illegal workers or for importing foreign workers.

The second major tax provision of the bill provides employers with a $1,000 tax credit for each “retained worker” hired in 2010. (§102) To qualify as a “retained worker,” the individual must:

(1) Meet the definition of a qualified employee under §101 (see above);

(2) Be employed during the taxable year;

(3) Be employed by the employer for no less than 52 consecutive weeks; and

(4) Maintain wages at a certain threshold during the 52-week period.

Like Section 101, this tax credit does not require the employee to be legal or require that the employer use E-Verify to establish the employee’s work authorization. Looks like you can file the Democrats Reid's bill in the Hola Suckers file.

President Obama's speech and the fiscal reality

Well President Obama has finally pulled out the "hope" speech out of his jacket pocket last night in the address to congress. Here are some of the money quotes:


"As soon as I took office, I asked this Congress to send me a recovery plan by President's Day that would put people back to work and put money in their pockets. Not because I believe in bigger government - I don't. Not because I'm not mindful of the massive debt we've inherited - I am. I called for action because the failure to do so would have cost more jobs and caused more hardships. In fact, a failure to act would have worsened our long-term deficit by assuring weak economic growth for years. That's why I pushed for quick action. And tonight, I am grateful that this Congress delivered, and pleased to say that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is now law." Yep! It's law alright. Before it was passed Obama was talking fear and "catastrophe". Now that we taxpayers are in hock for a trillion dollars Obama has pulled out the "hope" message out of his pocket. The first money from this bill will be going to the black hole of Medicaid. You know the program that in part pays for the illegal immigrants who use hospital emergency rooms as doctors offices. Hola suckers! How much is this "hope costing us taxpayers? Here is the Obama and Democratic talking point which Obama used again last night:

"Over the next two years, this plan will save or create 3.5 million jobs."

Hmm sounds good until you do the math and see that with a trillion dollar "stimulus bill" that works out to $285,714.00 per job. Oh yeah another thing President Obama and the Dems forget to tell us. That since there was no E-Verify provision in the Stimulus Bill it means that those jobs may not all go to U.S. citizens but, illegal immigrants could be hired to work on those infrastructure construction projects too. Hola Suckers again!

Whose country is this again?

"TUCSON- A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora (Mexico)traveled to Tucson to make the case against Arizona's new employer sanctions law,The lawmakers say it will have a devastating affect on the Mexican state. At a news conference Tuesday, they said Sonora cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools it will face as illegal Mexican workers in Arizona return to their hometowns without jobs or money." - Associated Press
You can not make this stuff up. And exactly why are these conditions in Mexico our problem? Why is it that we U.S. citizens have to put up with the housing conditions, crime, subsidize the health care and pay the school taxes for these illegal immigrants? It gets better. Here are some more of the money quotes:

"How can they pass a law like this?" asked Mexican Rep. Leticia Amparano Gamez, who represents Nogales."

Well, I suspect the reason Senorita Gamez is that it is still our country and we can make the laws even if the people from your country do not respect them. Which is the reason why the illegal immigrants should not be shown any respect too. You see there is a still a difference when you cross the border from Mexico.

"What do we do with the repatriated?" he asked. "As Mexicans, we are worried. They are Mexicans but they are also people's fathers and mothers and young people with jobs who won't have work in Sonora."

If you ask me you as elected officials of Mexico should be looking to bring jobs into your area. Another thing you need to remember is that the United States is a Republic not an employment agency for Mexico. Try and rember that.

Speaking of jobs to fill...

With the crackdown on illegal immigrants and more importantly those that hire them the lobbyists for the corrupt businesses that hire illegals are running around that the sky is falling if U.S. enforces it's laws on illegal immigration.
But, some economists are not buying it. Here is a recent smackdown quote from Business Process Management:

"David Rosenberg is one of a number of economists who say the concerns about too few workers are vastly overblown. Rosenberg recently studied the issue and put out a report entitled Is There a Labor Shortage? If employers are having trouble filling jobs, "perhaps they're not looking hard enough," he says."

Did you ever hear people pushing for s1348 and illegal immigration rights say the illegals are doing the jobs Americans won't do? Did you ever say to yourself that can't be true. I'm sure some American would do the job. You could be right. Here is the money quote from a seminar held in May on how companies can screw American workers:

"'Our goal is clearly not to find a qualified and interested U.S. worker,' said partner Lawrence Lebowitz on the video. 'And, you know, that in a sense that sounds funny, but it's what we're trying to do here.'"

A job to die for?

"In a largely invisible cost of the war in Iraq, nearly 800 civilians working under contract to the Pentagon have been killed and more than 3,300 hurt doing jobs normally handled by the U.S. military, according to figures gathered by The Associated Press. "

Ford layoffs and the dying Middle Class.

With the Ford Motor Company annoucment that it will layoff 25% of it's workforce one has to wonder what will happen to many of these workers. While some will get and take buyout offers others will be called into the office and just be told to get out. It may be a slow process or a very quick one. These laid off workers I think will find it to be harder this time then in previous layoffs. Having been laid off a few times myself it seems I was always able to find a temporary job to carry me through until another higher paying position opened up. I pumped gasoline for a few months during one dry period many years ago. Today, even those temporary jobs may be harder to find. Thanks to the failure of the Federal Government to protect the borders the result of which has allowed millions of Illegal Immigrants into the country doing many of the jobs that would have helped some of the blue collar assembly line workers bridge the time between jobs. They will not be able to compete with the low wages the illegals are paid (and who get food and shelter from groups like Catholic Charities using U.S. taxpayer dollars) while the Ford workers will have a house and family to support. Even more bleak is the fact that there may not be any future jobs available that will pay as well as the jobs they were laid off from. Some of them will start the slow spiral downward and leave the middle class lifestyle that they have enjoyed and that is a tragedy for all of us.
