Those of us who have been following the real truth about illegal immigration know they are not all Dreamers looking to better themselves. Some are gang members committing crimes like murder and have been practicing a racist cleansing in places like LA for years. But, that does not fit the liberal meme about illegals so it is not be covered in the liberal mainstream media. Calling Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Toure  and lily white California MSNBC Liberals like Lawrence O'Donnell.  Where the F are you? Got some REAL racism going down in Compton. Of course since they can't try and pin this racism on white people I expect them to keep their mouths shut on this issue. Don't expect to see Rev. Al Sharpton and Jackson marching in Compton anytime soon.

A BCP ENDORSEMENT: MICKEY KAUS FOR U.S. SENATE

I've been reading Mickey Kaus' blog for years and was always impressed with his honesty and insight on many issues like illegal immigration. I'm a registered Democrat who divides my time between Washington D.C. and New York where my main residence is so I can't vote for him but, if I could I would vote for Mickey Kaus (The Common Sense Democrat) in the California Democratic primary for U.S. Senate against Barbara Boxer. The least I can do is give him the BCP political endorsement. Here are some of the money quotes of why I would have no problem voting for Kaus:

"It's time Democrat politicians stopped holding enforcement measures hostage to their goal of amnesty--of giving citizenship to millions who are here illegally."

"I'm not for mass deportations, or for rooting out and displacing people who are minding their own business 'living in the shadows.' But Arizonans have been sorely tested by wave after wave of illegal immigration, in violation of federal law, which has brought with it unprecedented levels of violence to the state.

"If Obama and the national Democrats don't like Arizona's response, they should stop holding effective federal enforcement of immigration laws hostage to the amnesty they keep dangling in front of Latino voters."

Here's more from Kaus:

"Kaus is the only Democratic Senate candidate on the ballot to oppose amnesty proposals, even when they are packaged with enforcement measures and billed as "comprehensive reform." The incumbent, Barbara Boxer, supports "comprehensive reform" that includes a "path to citizenship" for illegals--i.e., amnesty."

We need to secure the borders first. Build the actual, physical fence that was supposed to be built. Extend E-verify or another effective means of checking immigration status at the time of employment. Create a system for monitoring visa overstays. Let the ACLU sue. Let the Chamber of Commerce sue. Let MALDEF sue. Then if the system survives those assaults, and works--actually stops illegal immigration and sends a signal to the world that the game has changed--then in a few years we can start to talk about amnesty."

Like I said I can't vote for him but, if you are a Democrat in California please vote for Mickey Kaus in the California primary. But, if you can't vote too you could help his epic campaign by helping him out with a donation. Not all of us Democrats are drinking the liberal kool aid. Mickey Kaus is one such Democrat.

Meanwhile is the LA Times finally getting it?

As California continues it's downward fiscal spiral. The good news is that financial disaster may be starting bring the politically correct bias of the LA Times back to some of the reality of what has actually been going on in the state. At least if the column by George Skelton is any indication. He lays out the costs to California of having so many illegal immigrants in the state. Here are some of the literal money quotes:


" The state is spending $775 million on Medi-Cal healthcare for illegal immigrants, according to the legislative analyst. Of that, $642 million goes into direct benefits. Practically all the rest is paid to counties to administer the program. The feds generally match the state dollar-for-dollar on mandatory programs."



"There also are other taxpayer costs -- especially through local governments -- but those are the biggies for the state. Add them all up and the state spends well over $5 billion a year on illegal immigrants and their families.

Of course, illegal immigrants do pay state taxes. But no way do they pay enough to replenish what they're drawing in services. Their main revenue contribution would be the sales tax, but they can't afford to be big consumers, and food and prescription drugs are exempt."



At this point he also ignores the money the illegals are sending back to their home countries that does not stay in the California economy. Also like the stated number of illegal immigrants in the country his costs numbers may also be low. But, it is a start that even a papers like the LA Times are starting to realize there is a downside and a cost to taxpayers for unchecked illegal immigration. As Skelton rightly observes:



"Meanwhile, California should be honest about the costs. Illegal immigrants are not the sole cause of the state's deficit. But they are a drain."



That truth is a refreshing start.

Illegal fire!

The New York Times has an article about how the California wildfires are flushing out the illegals camped out in the area of the wildfires. Some have even been killed. But, as usual the Times tries to ignore and downplay the fact that the origin of these fires may have been the campfires of the illegal immigrants themselves:

"Some people have speculated, including on the Web, that immigrants might have set some of the fires, as has occurred with campfires lighted in fields.
The authorities have not given any causes linked to immigration." {BCP Media Bias Alert! That should be ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION""

Then maybe the fires were not so accidental. Here is the money quote:

"For the immigrants, the fires may have dried up some work. But some speculate on strong work prospects like cleanups. By early afternoon near a heavily damaged neighborhood in the Rancho Bernardo area, four men stood on a corner, waiting for work offers.
“It is a shame what happened,” said a man who gave just his first name, Miguelito. “But we think there will be jobs to clean or build.”

Politics should not be made easy for any party.

LOS ANGELES -- California Republicans are floating a ballot initiative that would change how the state awards its 55 electoral votes, a whopping prize that Democrats have come over the past four presidential elections to regard as theirs.-Washington Post
This idea floated by the Republicans in Californis is one of the more interesting ideas in making our Democracy work better. Here are some of the money quotes:

"It has a gut-level appeal to it," said Kevin Eckery, a GOP consultant supporting the initiative, which would be put before voters in June. "It sounds fair, and it is fair."

I agree. After seeing the debacle of the 2000 election. Anything that moves us toward a popular vote where EVERY district and vote matters will make the politicians from both parties more responsive to the wishes of all the people not just those enclaves where the strategists think they can win the whole electoral pot.

"You're looking at between 19 and 22 votes that would shift to the Republican side," said Chris Lehane, a Democratic strategist mobilizing against the proposal. "The electoral math becomes very challenging."

It should be challenging Mr. Lehene. To me it is not about making elections easier for any party it is about making the parties earn every vote. That is a good thing.

"That plan was a brainchild of Colorado Democrats, who had seen all of their state's votes awarded to the Republican candidate in five of the previous six elections despite reliable Democratic showings in some districts."

While the movement toward a Congressional district divide of electoral votes in California is being led by the Republicans. It is interesting that the idea was first started by the Democrats of Colorado. For me after seeing how many Democrats spearheaded and voted for the recent Senate illegal immigrant amnesty bill it would be another check against those that will pander for votes (like many of the Democrats did) if they know that their votes will have more repercussions when it comes to the national elections. Like I said it is not about making the job easy for the politicians it's about making them represent the wishes of the people.
