ASSociated Press: Drops "illegal immigrant" from Style Book

It's clear that the "appallingly pathetic" Associated Press "news" gathering organization has sunk to a new low on what is considered the truth in journalism. The asinine logic and explanation from the  Senior Vice President and Executive Editor Kathleen Carroll can be read here. Here are some of the money quotes:

"The Stylebook no longer sanctions the term “illegal immigrant” or the use of “illegal” to describe a person. Instead, it tells users that “illegal” should describe only an action, such as living in or immigrating to a country illegally."

By the same logic a "rapist" should be known as a person who enters a vagina without authorization. Perhaps a burglar or home invader should be called an  unauthorized house guest.   George Orwell must be spinning in his grave over this pathetic attempt at political correctness expressed by this so called "news" organization. 

Even Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is not dumb enough to believe this nonsense from AP:


"Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told reporters last week that she didn’t ”really get caught up in the vocabulary wars.”

“They are immigrants who are here illegally, that’s an illegal immigrant,” she said." - WAPO

Though Jay Leno may have the real explanation for this Orwellian slight of hand made by the ASSociated Press for this change.

CHARLES P. GARCIA AND HIS STUPID ORWELLIAN ATTEMPT TO LEGITIMIZE ILLEGALITY

Charles P. Garcia the CEO of Garcia Trujillo is a  wealthy Hispanic executive who makes a fortune dealing with the Hispanic market (legal and illegal). He is on the march to eradicate the term “illegal immigrant.” It is obvious he has a vested interest in seeing that as many illegal Hispanics remain in the U.S. as possible. So he can keep filling his company coffers and lining his own pockets. William Bigalow has the money quote on the issue:

"As usual, those who insist on obfuscating issues take advantage of parsing terms in order to delegitimize those terms.  What Garcia does is to separate the two words “illegal” and “immigrant” and then conclude that their concomitant use is incorrect because the term illegal is incorrect. But Garcia conveniently misses the point: the terms are used together because their use is to define the people described as having performed an illegal act; they have illegally crossed the border"

Since Charles Garcia wants to eradicate the term illegal immigrant and legitimize those who enter the U.S. illegally. Perhaps he won't be upset if people climb over the fence of his property and use his pool and just generally hang around and live on his property for a few years.  After all that's what some illegal immigrants do here in the U.S. He does not seem to have a problem with that. So doing the same on his property should not bother him. We will tell him to just consider us "uninvited houseguests" not trespassers and by his standard we should not be considered to be on his property illegally.

DROP THE I WORD? SORRY ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL!

The leftists at Move On, Media Matters and pro illegal immigrant groups latest Orwellian push is to try and get people to stop using the world "illegal" when talking about illegal immigrants. If only George Orwell were alive to see this latest propaganda campaign.  It is utter nonsense and attempt to minimize the crime that millions of illegal immigrants have committed in this country. Not only is this Orwellian campaign silly it is disingenuous with the facts:

I looked into the data using the FBI Uniform Crime Report source cited in the video and discovered why they stopped the animation at 2007; the number of Anti-Hispanic Hate Crimes went DOWN in 2008. Just another reason not to trust the leftist and those pro illegal immigrant groups that try to minimize the impact illegal immigration has on U.S. communities all over the country. They can't stand the truth so they try and shade it any way they can.  But, most Americans know the "inconvenient" truth about illegal immigrants:

Hispanic Journalism BS!

Diggers Realm has a post about how the National Association of Hispanic Journalist want to the U.S. media to make Owellean Journalism the standard when it comes reporting on illegal immigrants. Here is the shovel full of BS they put out in their press release:
"NAHJ is concerned with the increasing use of pejorative terms to describe the estimated 11 million [Illegals] undocumented people living in the United States. NAHJ is particularly troubled with the growing trend of the news media to use the word “illegals” as a noun, shorthand for "illegal aliens". Using the word in this way is grammatically incorrect and crosses the line by criminalizing the [illegal] person, not the action they are purported to have committed. NAHJ calls on the media to never use “illegals” in headlines."

What journalistic nonsense! The illegal immigrants DID break the law when they entered the country ILLEGALLY. They are criminals but, thanks to lack of enforcement by those failure of the folks in the Federal Government have not been caught yet.
