Some fines are fine but, not the tears.

I went to the F.A.I.R fundraiser for the Texas Three at the Phoenix Hotel. The fundraiser was to raise money for the legal costs and families of imprisoned Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean and Rocksprings deputy sheriff Gilmar Hernan. There was one lone protester across the street from the hotel holding a sign. Complaining that one of the amnesty proposals required that illegal immigrants pay a fine of $10,000 to make themselves legal in the U.S. He said that was too much. So I went over to him and reminded him that the $10,000 was less than it cost taxpayers to educate ONE child in a public school for one year.
I then went into the room where people had gathered for the fundraiser. Where we heard from the wives of the three men now imprisoned. It was quite emotional. I believe I saw Congressman Dana Rorbacher off to the side shedding a tear as one of the imprisoned border patrol agents wives read a letter from her husband to the crowd. Whoever said Republicans don't cry.

BORDER: A must see movie!

I'm blogging from the Phoenix Hotel in Washington. It is the center of action of the Hold Their Feet To The Fire operation. I have just returned from Union Station were I just watched a screening of Chris Burgard's excellent documentary BORDER . If you want a close look at what is actually happening along our borders and want to be inspired as to what this country is all about. If you want to see patriotism in action and see some of the real heroes in America you need to see this documentary. The problem is there is no distribution deal set for this film nationally so far. But, it is being shown at some film festivals around the country. Keep an eye out for it and check the films website to see where it might be shown and take a look at the trailer. http://www.bordermovie.com/

Travelin' South

I am about to leave Long Island and head south to Washington D.C. to be part of the Hold Their Feet To The Fire events during the week. It will be a couple of days of pointing out to those in Congress both Democrats and Republicans the failures of the Federal Government in regards to illegal immigration. Someone needs to stand up for the middle class taxpayers who are increasingly subsidizing this illegal workforce. That's what I plan to do.

Holding their feet to the fire. Washington D.C. April 22-25

If you will be attending the F.A.I.R HOLDING THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE events in Washington D.C. (April 22 - April 24) . You might want to bring some clothes that will send a message as you walk around the halls of congress and other parts of Washington. May I suggest something like this T shirt. You will be sending a message without saying a word!
