Ethics? We are the Obama Administration we don't need no ethics policy!

It seems the Obama administration is trying to brow beat the Washington Press on the Obama Administrations ethics hypocrisy by using the Wizard of Oz defense i.e. : Pay no attention to the hypocrisy behind the scenes just look at what these left leaning organizations are saying about us. Politco's Michael Calderone has the money quotes:

"If you’re CC’d on this email, it’s because you or your news outlet have reported extensively on criticism of ethics waivers. In the interest of fairness and balance, I wanted to make sure you saw and had the opportunity to report on the below release from ethics groups praising the President’s steps on transparency in the first ethics days. "- White House Press Office

This subtle threat to the press and it is a "We decide (what's ethical) and you report" mentality. This sounds just like a Bush administration position. Earth to the Obama administration. You either have ethics rules or you don't. If you want to claim you regard ethics as important you DO NOT issue "ethics waivers". You also don't hide behind the skirts of left leaning organizations that are sympathetic to you.




Oh yeah now let's talk about that "earmark" policy.

Air Force One photo op with our taxpayer dollars

It seems there was a photo op of Air Force One (Obama was not onboard) over lower Manhattan this morning. There are a couple of things wrong with this stunt. One is why is it being done i.e. what do they know that we don't? The second in these hard economic times does the Obama Administration really need to conduct "photo ops" with fuel guzzling (taxpayer dollar sucking) planes like 747 aircraft? Especially for "photo ops" over lower Manhattan where low flying aircraft can make citizens nervous. This was a very stupid and costly idea!

One would think this Federal government report from the Department of Homeland Security (with nameless authors) would be an April Fools joke. But, it is not. It is frightening attempt by some people in the government to try and make many American's anger at the failure of the Federal Government on certain issues like illegal immigration be painted as part of some vast "radical" right wing conspiracy. Instead of what it is. The true outrage and anger of U.S. citizens about the continuing failures of the Federal Government. It would be amusing if it was not so frightening that this "official" government report could be used as a pretext for the Obama administration to spy, wire tap and otherwise invade the privacy of U.S. citizens who truly have issues with the way the Federal Government has failed them. There are no names of organizations in the report that the government considers a "right wing extremist" so that means it could be anyone. This whole document smells as if it was written in the offices of the Southern Poverty Law Center. Michelle Malkin has some of the insightful money quotes on this chilling document:

"I have covered DHS for many years and am quite familiar with past assessments they and the FBI have done on animal rights terrorists and environmental terrorists. But those past reports have always been very specific in identifying the exact groups, causes, and targets of domestic terrorism, i.e., the ALF, ELF, and Stop Huntingdon wackos who have engaged in physical harassment, arson, vandalism, and worse against pharmaceutical companies, farms, labs, and university researchers. By contrast, the piece of crap report issued on April 7 is a sweeping indictment of conservatives. And the intent is clear. As the two spokespeople I talked with on the phone today made clear: They both pinpointed the recent “economic downturn” and the “general state of the economy” for stoking “rightwing extremism.” One of the spokespeople said he was told that the report has been in the works for a year. Then there is this useless piece of crap analysis from the nameless DHS report writers:

"Threats from white supremacist and violent anti government groups during 2009 have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry out violent acts."

TRANSLATION: These "unnamed" groups are practicing free speech. What a dangerous concept in a democracy! Obviously, the Obama administration and the Department of Homeland Security think so.

Every U.S. citizen should read this DHS report and think very strongly what the implications are for our country, democracy and free speech. Don't forget to smile at the cameras at the TEA PARTY our government will no doubt be watching!

OBAMANATION: The road to Amnesty for illegals

The New York Times, you know the paper that gets money from Mexican billionaires to keep their operation afloat reports that President Obama is going to try and push through an amnesty for illegal immigrants. You know the ones that the Federal Government has failed to keep out of our country and communities:

So the Obama administration will attempt to sweep the problem under the rug with an amnesty for their illegals. Here is the money quote:

"While acknowledging that the recession makes the political battle more difficult, President Obama plans to begin addressing the country’s immigration system this year, including looking for a path for illegal immigrants to become legal, a senior administration official said on Wednesday."

President Obama please read this real slow.

"When your reward illegality you will get more of it."

We have been down this road before with liberal Dumbocrats like Ted Kennedy here are his Dumbocratic quotes on illegal immigration and amnesty:

1965: "The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs."

1986: "This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this."

2007: "Now it is time for action. 2007 is the year we must fix our broken system."

Before they go down the road to amnesty. It's a good time for the liberal Dumbocrats and President Obama to remember the words of George Santayana

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. "

Energy Independence or Blowback?

That assessment came as senior U.S. officials renewed warnings that experts from Russia, China and other nations have been trying for years to probe and exploit those vulnerabilities. I wonder where these countries got the idea to use software to cripple a country's electric grid. Perhaps from the CIA which did exactly the same thing when it loaded bugged software into Russian computers that caused gas valves in a Russian gas pipeline to malfunction resulting in a major pipeline explosion during the cold war. As the song says "Teach your children well" and don't forget payback is a bitch!
Meanwhile all the talk about a "smart electric grid" seems to me like just a big PR effort to justify spending hundreds billions of dollars on such a system. It's to make the sheeple feel like someone is protecting them and the electricity grid so they can always charge their IPODS. Meanwhile the electric utilities and oil companies want to make sure you will always be connected to them. To me it is much more important to become completely independent from them and stories like this one show why.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION QUOTE OF THE DAY

The New York Times has a profile of the Mayor of Irving Texas that has implemented a policy of checking the legal status of everyone that gets booked into it's jail. It refers those with dubious citizenship quite rightly to the Federal authorities for deportation. Buried in the article is the money quote from the local Police chief:

"The police chief, Larry Boyd, said he believed that the city’s enviable crime rate (last year was its lowest on record) is at least partly due to the deportation program. “You will never hear me blaming Irving’s crime problems on illegal immigration,” Chief Boyd said. But he added that the program “keeps some criminals off of Irving’s streets longer and potentially keeps them off of Irving’s streets for good.”

Other communities here on Long Island and around the country could learn a thing from Irving Texas. Enforcement works!

Shooting: American Civics?

There's breaking news about a gunman who entered into a building that houses the "American Civic Association" but, it seems this organization caters to immigrants both legal and illegal and is one of many "nonprofit immigrant helping organizations" that fly under the radar of the U.S. immigration law. But, of course they don't mind taking the donations from hard working American taxpayers who donate to groups like United Way. Over $30 thousand from that organization alone. Which is another reason not to donate to such organizations.

It's too early to tell if the gunman was a crazed American citizen fed up by the failure of the Federal Government to enforce U.S. immigration laws or some crazed immigrant pissed off because he did not get a green card. Whichever it is I wonder if we will ever find the reason for his madness.
