One would think this Federal government report from the Department of Homeland Security (with nameless authors) would be an April Fools joke. But, it is not. It is frightening attempt by some people in the government to try and make many American's anger at the failure of the Federal Government on certain issues like illegal immigration be painted as part of some vast "radical" right wing conspiracy. Instead of what it is. The true outrage and anger of U.S. citizens about the continuing failures of the Federal Government. It would be amusing if it was not so frightening that this "official" government report could be used as a pretext for the Obama administration to spy, wire tap and otherwise invade the privacy of U.S. citizens who truly have issues with the way the Federal Government has failed them. There are no names of organizations in the report that the government considers a "right wing extremist" so that means it could be anyone. This whole document smells as if it was written in the offices of the Southern Poverty Law Center. Michelle Malkin has some of the insightful money quotes on this chilling document:

"I have covered DHS for many years and am quite familiar with past assessments they and the FBI have done on animal rights terrorists and environmental terrorists. But those past reports have always been very specific in identifying the exact groups, causes, and targets of domestic terrorism, i.e., the ALF, ELF, and Stop Huntingdon wackos who have engaged in physical harassment, arson, vandalism, and worse against pharmaceutical companies, farms, labs, and university researchers. By contrast, the piece of crap report issued on April 7 is a sweeping indictment of conservatives. And the intent is clear. As the two spokespeople I talked with on the phone today made clear: They both pinpointed the recent “economic downturn” and the “general state of the economy” for stoking “rightwing extremism.” One of the spokespeople said he was told that the report has been in the works for a year. My b.s. detector went off the chart, and yours will, too, if you read through the entire report — which asserts with no evidence that an unquantified “resurgence in rightwing extremist recruitment and radicalizations activity” is due to home foreclosures, job losses, and…the historical presidential election."

Then there is this useless piece of crap analysis from the nameless DHS report writers:

"Threats from white supremacist and violent anti government groups during 2009 have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry out violent acts."

TRANSLATION: These "unnamed" groups are practicing free speech. What a dangerous concept in a democracy! Obviously, the Obama administration and the Department of Homeland Security think so.

Every U.S. citizen should read this DHS report and think very strongly what the implications are for our country, democracy and free speech. Don't forget to smile at the cameras at the TEA PARTY our government will no doubt be watching!

Barack on the bus

Barack Obama gave an interesting speech on race yesterday in order to try and distance himself from the racist comments of Reverend Jeremiah Wright. But, instead of throwing him under the bus Obama said he will continue to ride with him. So much for Barack's "change" message. Here is the money quote:

"Reverend Wright's comments were not only wrong but divisive," he said, "divisive at a time when we need unity; racially charged at a time when we need to come together to solve a set of monumental problems."

So let me get this straight Barack. You listened to the "divisive" racial hatred messages that Rev. Wright spewed from the pulpit for twenty years but, never said anything to him about it? If you can't confront your Pastor with something you say you did not believe in how can we expect you to confront the problems that come with being President.

No Imus! No Peace!

You can almost smell the hypocrisy coming out of the National Association of Black Journalists as they came out against Don Imus returning to the airwaves. To them the first amendment has no meaning as they appear to attempt to silence voices that they find objectionable.

"CHICAGO Weighing in again on the Don Imus controversy, the National Association of Black Journalists Tuesday said the radio personality who outraged many with his comments about "nappy-headed ho's" should not be allowed back on the air.
NABJ called reports that Imus is in negotiations with Citadel Broadcasting and in informal talks with Fox News "unimaginable."- Editor and Publisher

Unimaginable? What a laugh! These so called "black" journalists had better not turn on black oriented television programs like those on BET. Because they would have heart attacks when they hear how black rap artist degrade and demean black woman. No even after numerous apologies by IMUS these hypocrites still don't want his acerbic humor to be heard on the air. But, they give Tom Joyner a free pass when he and his crew make fun of whites. Yes the hypocrites at the NABJ are in good company with the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Keith Obermann, Al Roker and others who who mau maued the weaselly executives at NBC and CBS. Along with players like Eugene Robinson at the Washington Post and others. But, is there something else going on here? Perhaps Frank Rich said it best:

"Familar as I am with the warp speed of media, I was still taken aback by the velocity of Don Imus’s fall after he uttered an indefensible racist and sexist slur about the Rutgers women’s basketball team. Even in that short span, there’s been an astounding display of hypocrisy, sanctimony and self-congratulation from nearly every side of the debate, starting with Al Sharpton, who has yet to apologize for his leading role in the Tawana Brawley case, the 1980s racial melee prompted by unproven charges much like those that soiled the Duke lacrosse players."

There is another backstory for what Bill Maher calls the "manufactured outrage" against Imus and it has intriguing tie to the Hillary Clinton campaign and the liberal "watchdog" group Media Matters who pushed the story. You can read about those ties and the attempt to silence a Clinton critics like Imus here. It may just be that the NABJ and others are really worried that when IMUS gets back on the air he is going to open a big can of wup ass on them when he gets back on the air. I hope he does and I will be listening.

CBS executives join the weasals at MSNBC

"CBS Radio today announced it had fired talk show host Don Imus, a day after MSNBC dropped his morning program in the aftermath of racially and sexually insensitive comments he made about the Rutgers University women's basketball team."-Washington Po

Well the corporate weasels at CBS cut Don Imus at the knees and knuckled under like the NBC executive nitwits to those paragons of virtue Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson along with other hypocrites of the black activist community including people like Today Show weatherman Al Roker along with liberal media groups. It's a pretty sad day for America when such hypocrites and corporate weasel executives decide what and where the rest of us can hear. I think Imus will once again be able to be heard somewhere either on satellite radio or maybe Internet. But, I think CBS and NBC will begin their decline in viewers as people find out what was really behind the effort to get Imus off the air and it was not his insensitive remarks about the Rutgers woman's basketball team. It's pretty clear the current crop of executives in the mainstream corporate media have no balls and no clue either.

The Imus media firestorm: Black hypocrisy and what lies beneath.

The press conference with the Rutgers Woman's basketball team should show Imus and others why what Imus said was wrong, insensitive and inappropriate. These woman athletes should be outraged and it looks like Imus will speak with them privately and apologize personally. That is appropriate. Team Captain Essence Carson had it right when she said:
"Some have pointed out that young women are routinely and unfortunately called "hos" in some rap lyrics. "That doesn't make it any more right for anyone to say it, it doesn't matter if you are African American, Caucasian, Asian, it really doesn't matter," said Rutgers team captain Essence Carson at a news conference yesterday. "All that matters is it's wrong."-Washington Post
I wonder if the black media elites like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Washington Post columnist Eugen Robinson and the National Association of Black Journalists etc... who are so outraged over Imus remarks will take the words of Ms. Carson to heart and go after BET (Black Entertainment Television), MTV and the rap and hip hop recording industry who promote artist and entertainers who compose songs with much more racist lyrics and images. If they don't it will show the hypocrisy of what Bill Maher calls the "manufactured outraged" against Don Imus. Don't hold your breath while you wait for all these same racial ambulance chasers going after Don Imus to go after the rap music industry for their use of even worse words and images. You can almost smell the hypocrisy coming from the positions of these black media elites.

But, why all this overblown "outrage" over the Imus remarks? Underneath all the media firestorm hidden in the remarks of people like Jesse Jackson may lie the real reason for the this media firestorm concerning Don Imus. It is political.
Don Imus usually uses his acerbic humor to go after the powerful that includes going after people from President Bush, Dick Cheney to Hillary Clinton. And there may lie the real reason for the media lynching of Don Imus. Both Sharpton and Jackson are Democratic partisans. Imus has often said that he would not have Hillary Clinton on as a guest on his influential program. Jackson appeared on Lou Dobs on Monday and here is the smoking gun money quote:
"JACKSON: He's not irreverent toward Joe Lieberman. He's not irreverent towards Harold Ford. He irreverent towards those he chooses to call out. But the idea of this pattern, the statements about. And even today he said he didn't want Hillary Clinton on his show. A political statement, you know. It's a very political show."- Jesse Jackson on Lou Dobbs

So that's what this is really all about. Democratic partisans like Jackson and Sharpton among others are going after Don Imus not so much because of his insensitive stupid remarks about the Rutgers Woman's basketball team. But rather being Democratic partisans and long time friends of Hillary and Bill Clinton they are trying to also eliminate or take down someone in the media who has derided Clinton in order to earn some points with the Democratic party and Hilliary Clinton in particular. The fascism of the NRA

After a noted and respected hunter named Jim Zumbo made a comment on his blog about how he did not think there was any reason for hunters to use assault rifles in hunting. The National Rifle Association and the gun industry came down hard on Mr. Zumbo. It seems freedom of speech does not sit well with the National Rifle Association especially where opinions about guns by even their own members are concerned. Perhaps they should change their name to the Fascist Rifle Association.
