CUOMO SCREWS UP! CHRISTE GETS IT RIGHT!

Unbelievable how Democrats like Andrew Cuomo can screw things up following the devastation of Sandy. What happened today really shows the difference between how Democrats like New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republicans like New Jersey Governor Christy and how they handle disasters differently. Cuomo announced that free gasoline would be available at several State Armories in New York. Meanwhile New Jersey Governor Christie announced that in New Jersey this free gasoline would only be used to fuel the cars of First Responders, Nurses and medical personnel.  Guess what happened in New York? Chaos of course!

CNN: Works on the pigs ear.

Following yesterday's Republican victories in Virginia and New Jersey Governor's races CNN (the Obama Administrations favorite "news organization outside of MSNBC and one that fact checks Saturday Night Live comedy sketches had this little insane insight:

"Washington (CNN) -- Victories in New Jersey and Virginia Tuesday provided a major shot in the arm for the Republican Party heading into the 2010 elections, but the Democratic losses of these two governorships should not be interpreted as a significant blow to President Obama."

File this under Delusional Analysis! Especially after both Obama and Biden made several trips to try and prop up New Jersey Democratic Govenor John Corzine chances for relection.

Gay bathroom scandals from both parties.

According to the Washington Post Senator Larry Craig will resign today. While many are piling on about the hypocrisy of this Republican Craig caught soliciting a Police Officer in an airport bathroom. I am reminded of the Democrats own scandal regarding former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreavy . Who resigned after it was found out he put his gay lover on the government payroll (which I think is more despicable because it cost taxpayers money). I sometimes travel by car from Long Island to Washington D.C. and use the rest areas on the New Jersey Turnpike from time to time. During Mcgreavy's tenure they remodeled the bathrooms at the Turnpike rest areas. At some of the newly remodeled bathrooms there were no dividers between the urinals. It seemed to me the urinals were designed so that private parts were pretty much exposed. I remember thinking this was strange for a public bathroom and that gays and pedophiles would have a field day in these rest rooms. These two scandals and their connection with public restrooms bathrooms strikes me as very ironic.

NJ: Illegal Immigration checks. A little too late for some.

I'm reading today's New York Times (B section of course) that New Jersey's attorney general Anne Milgram has decided that it might be a good idea after all for local law enforcement to actually enforce our laws and require them to inquire about the immigration status of criminal suspects and to notify federal authorities. This follows the slaying of three college students in Newark by a gang led by several illegal immigrants. Who thanks to the sanctuary policy of Newark were allowed to roam freely despite being picked up on other crimes in some cases several times. While it is good to see officials like Attorney General Milgram come around at least partly to the notion that a crime is a crime and that illegal immigrants have committed a crime by entering the country. It is a shame that it took the deaths of three college students to wake her and others around the country up to the dangers of allowing people who do not respect U.S. laws to feel comfortable to break even more laws. Unfortunately, it takes often takes the deaths of U.S. citizens to wake some officials up to the "inconvenient truth" about the dark side of unchecked illegal immigration.

Road trip

About to leave in a few minutes on a road trip to bring my girlfriends car up north for a trip out to Amagansett on the eastern end of Long Island next week. I look forward to this trip which I make about two or three times a year. Highlights include a stop in Sudlersville Maryland for a piece of homemade pie at a local eating spot. Helen's Sausage House for two sausage sandwiches for breakfast and a pork chop sandwich to go. Not to mention cheap gas on the New Jersey Turnpike. If you see me along the way honk your horn. From the mind of Menendez

As the Washington Post reports a lot of Senate Republicans are outraged by the Bush/McCain/Kennedy proposed Senate amnesty bill. But, so is Senator Robert Menendez a New Jersey Dumbocrat who was involved in the back room dealings that created the sham Senate illegal immigrant amnesty bill and is now complaining about it. Here are some of the money quotes from his website:

"WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), a key negotiator in closed door Senate meetings on immigration reform, today voiced his objections to the agreement announced. Menendez said he could not support the limitations in the family reunification program, the temporary nature of the worker program, and the unrealistically high fees that undocumented immigrants would have to pay."

So according to Senator Menendez it is not enough that the American people have to grant amnesty to 12 million people who have ignored and violated our laws. We also have to allow them to bring their families. Let's see 12 million illegals, a wife, two children (conservative estimate), brother, sister, mom and dad. So we could be talking about 76 million people conservatively added to the population of the United States in a very short amount of time. Along with the social services, schools and other costs. But, of course George Bush and Dumbocrats like Menendez are not thinking about these costs to local taxpayers they are Federal officials they don't have to. But, Menendez is worried about some costs. The cost of the fine the illegals would have to pay under the bill for violating our laws. He calls the fine "unrealistically high" Oh my. It will cost taxpayer about $10,000 per year to educate each of the illegal immigrants children alone and the Senator thinks a $5,000 fine for breaking our laws for years is too much. Give me a break!

Senator Menendez then had this to say about the bill he was in the backroom negotiating:
"I for one cannot settle for something that isn't responsible, or something that creates a bigger problem than already exists."
