REMEMBERING KRIS EGGLE

“In the wake of 9/11, Kris protected his country by intercepting thousands of pounds of illegal drugs, many weapons, and hundreds of illegal lawbreakers from foreign countries, and by guarding a 31-mile stretch of our nation’s southern boundary. Kris Eggle was shot and killed in the line of duty at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument on August 9, 2002, while pursuing members of a drug cartel hit squad who fled into the United States after committing a string of murders in Mexico. He was 28 years old. As a fellow Organ Pipe ranger commented, ‘Kris died serving his country and his death has great value and meaning. But the life of Kris Eggle, even more than his death, continues to set the standard.’”

How stupid can San Francisco be?

From the NY Times:
"The San Francisco board of supervisors is expected to vote Tuesday to overturn a city policy that has been at the center of a national debate over offering illegal immigrants sanctuary. The policy, ordered by Mayor Gavin Newsom last summer, requires the police to contact Immigration and Customs Enforcement whenever they arrest a juvenile on felony charges who they suspect is in the United States illegally. Since the policy took effect in August 2008, more than 100 undocumented minors have been turned over to federal immigration authorities."

I thought the city of San Francisco was coming to around to it's senses when it enacted the law to get the illegals committing crimes on it's streets turned over to the Federal authorities. What bought the people of San Francisco around?

"The city was also shocked by a June 2008 triple murder, which prosecutors say was committed by Edwin Ramos, a suspected gang member and an illegal immigrant from El Salvador who had been arrested as a juvenile by the San Francisco police but
not turned over to immigration authorities."

Too bad it takes the deaths of three people to wake up a city to what happens when you let illegals run amuck in your town. But, now one stupido Supervisor named David Campos is leading the charge to rollback the enforcement. Who is David Campos? Why he's originally from Guatemala and came to this country illegally when he was 14. Hola suckers!

Arizona rollover tragedy. Who is to blame?

Today was the day that there was supposed to be a meeting at the White House of the Obama administration and the groups like La Raza & Democratic Congressman Luis Gutierrez that want amnesty for the 12 million plus illegal immigrants in our country who blatantly choose to ignore our immigration laws. That meeting has been postponed until June 17th. mark that date on your calenders. But this morning CBS radio carried a news story of a rollover of a van in Arizona that was carrying AT LEAST 27 illegal immigrants. Eight were killed and 14 were air lifted to hospitals. Yes, this was a tragedy it's a tragedy for the illegals but the cold hard truth is nobody put a gun to their head and made them enter the U.S. illegally so my sympathy is limited for them. They obviously did not get the memo as Mickey Kaus points out that the illegals are returning home is record numbers. It is also a tragedy for the U.S. taxpayers who will be picking up the the medical costs for those illegals. Here is the money quote:

"We're looking at a lot of expenses tied in with this particular collision and unfortunately the worst part of it is, it's a loss of human life, the unnecessary loss of human lives, and the people who are obviously hurt and seriously injured,"says Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada.
Meanwhile U.S. citizens are going bankrupt trying to pay their OWN medical bills. Whose is to blame for this tragedy? Clearly the illegals themselves bare part of of it. The people who were transporting them too. But, I think that most of the blame belongs to our Federal Government. Now run by the Obama administration who continue to allow these illegals to cross our borders and have have an almost criminal lack of enforcement policy once they arrive here. Thanks in part to the liberal Democrats and especially to Homeland Security Secretary Janet NO(enforcement)politano. Bottom line is this accident and other similar incidents would not be happening if the Obama Administration and the Federal Government were doing it's job in border security and enforcing immigration law.

In Phoenix things are changing

"Under pressure from advocates for stricter immigration laws, the mayor of Phoenix said on Monday that he no longer backed a Police Department order barring officers from routinely asking the immigration status of people it arrested and announced a panel to study a policy change."- New York Times

It's heartening to see elected leaders realize that they were elected to represent the people. Especially a Democrat like Mayor Gordon.

"Mayor Phil Gordon discussing illegal immigration Monday.
A spokesman for Mayor Phil Gordon, Scott Phelps, said the policy was “written for another time” on the belief that the federal government “would fulfill all of its immigration responsibilities, and clearly that has changed.”

Yes, things have changed but, it is not because the Federal Government has not "fulfilled" their immigration responsibilities. That failure has been going on for years. It was the death of this man Phoenix Police Officer Nick Erfle who was killed two months ago by an illegal immigrant. It just a shame that it takes deaths of Police officers and innocent U.S. citizens before some politicians begin to take action to do something about illegal immigration.
Like the murders of the three college students in New Jersey earlier this year by illegal immigrants. Which like in Phoenix led to a change in policy of Police looking into the background of those stopped by the Police. It seems it takes deaths before our elected leaders get the message. That is to high a price to get the attention of our politicians.

NJ: Illegal Immigration checks. A little too late for some.

I'm reading today's New York Times (B section of course) that New Jersey's attorney general Anne Milgram has decided that it might be a good idea after all for local law enforcement to actually enforce our laws and require them to inquire about the immigration status of criminal suspects and to notify federal authorities. This follows the slaying of three college students in Newark by a gang led by several illegal immigrants. Who thanks to the sanctuary policy of Newark were allowed to roam freely despite being picked up on other crimes in some cases several times. While it is good to see officials like Attorney General Milgram come around at least partly to the notion that a crime is a crime and that illegal immigrants have committed a crime by entering the country. It is a shame that it took the deaths of three college students to wake her and others around the country up to the dangers of allowing people who do not respect U.S. laws to feel comfortable to break even more laws. Unfortunately, it takes often takes the deaths of U.S. citizens to wake some officials up to the "inconvenient truth" about the dark side of unchecked illegal immigration.

Had enough Newark? Of illegal immigration and Mayor Booker!

Even as the Washington Post reports the capture of two more suspects in the brutal murder of three college students. Newark's Mayor Cory Booker does puts his head in the sand in dealing with the fact that Newark's policy of being a sanctuary city for illegals had a lot to do with the death of the three collage students killed gangland style.
“My Police Department does not play an I.N.S. function,” Mr. Booker said. “We are not to be running around doing interrogations about whether someone is documented or not.”-NY Times
No mayor Booker they are running around investigating the murder of U.S. citizens because you encourage them to not ask questions or report the immigration status of those you arrest for other crimes in your "sanctuary city". As Senator Grassely said if "If you reward illegality you get more of it!" You can expect with Mayor Booker's head in the sand approach that Newark will be getting more of it in the future.

John McCain's death threats and the reality.

"It is unbelievable how this has inflamed the passions of the American people," the Arizona senator said in remarks at The Aspen Institute, a public policy forum. In an interview, he declined to elaborate on the threats he had received."-Associated Press

So here we have Senator John McCain trying to use the sympathy card and playing the victim just like the illegal immigrant advocates tend to do. He claims he has received death threats because of his position to give amnesty to the illegal immigrants. I certainly would never condone such threats. But, Senator McCain there are death threats and there is death. Perhaps you should talked to the husband of Adrienne Shelly about your death threats. Then ask about her death. Then go to the husband of Mary Nagle and ask about her death. And then go to the widow of Alan Broom and ask about his death. Keep on asking about deaths and the illegal immigrants you'll be asking about it for a long time. Maybe then you will understand the inflamed passions of the American citizens on the issue of illegal immigration.
