COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM: Joke #1 Fines and Back Taxes

"Allow undocumented immigrants who have lived in the United States continually since before December 31, 2011 to apply for “Registered Provisional Immigrant Status” if they pay back taxes and $500 in fines, and if they have not been convicted of a felony or 3 or more misdemeanors or voted illegally. Individuals with this status can work for any employer and travel outside the country but are not eligible to receive means-tested federal public benefits."- NBC

First on taxes there were provisions in the 2007 immigration bill that illegal immigrants had to pay back taxes. But, that was later dropped because it was "too complicated to enforce" does anyone believe that anything has changed since then? Certainly, Senator Chuck Schumer one of the gang of eight pushing this plan has killed plans to make illegals play by the same rules as U.S. taxpayers  as far back as the 1986 immigration plan.

Second the illegals only have to pay a a $500 fine. What a joke! Some of these illegals paid thousands of dollars to cross the U.S. borders illegally. Charging just a $500 fine for the illegals  to be allowed to keep working legally in the U.S. is another joke!

HOW CHUCK SCHUMER FAILED U.S. TAXPAYERS ON IMMIGRATION REFORM BEFORE

As the April 15th deadline for U.S. taxpayers approaches it's good to remember how politicians like New York Senator Charles Schumer FAILED in previous immigration reforms to make sure that those in this country illegally actually paid their taxes.  Here is exhibit A:
"On January 28, 1987, then-Rep. Schumer wrote a letter to the Secretary of the Treasury, urging the government "immediately" to issue a regulation declaring that illegal aliens applying for permanent residence pursuant to IRCA were exempt from section 6039E. Schumer argued that Congress "did not intend" that illegal aliens amnestied by IRCA would be subject to the tax disclosure requirements that Congress had enacted two weeks earlier. According to Schumer: "Obviously, we could not have a successful legalization program if by submitting an application an alien became vulnerable to an enforcement action by the IRS." MORE HERE

We could not trust Schumer then and would should not trust him now.

HOLA SUCKERS FILE: 2 Billion $ goes to illegal immigrant healthcare

 "Even though federal law largely bars illegal immigrants from obtaining Medicaid coverage, the program annually pays out more than $2 billion in free emergency coverage that mostly goes to illegal immigrants, according to Kaiser Health News.

The vast majority of the total emergency care reimbursements cover delivering babies, Kaiser reports.

Based on a Kaiser data analysis of the states believed to have the greatest populations of illegal immigrants — including California, New York, Texas, North Carolina, Arizona, Illinois and Florida — more than 100,000 people annually receive emergency care that is reimbursed by Medicaid." -READ MORE

You gotta wonder why American taxpayers continue pay taxes and also pay to buy health insurance with their hard earned money. Illegal immigrants don't! Guess who is paying the bill though? Hola suckers!

DONDE ESTA WELFARE?

 "A new study from the Center for Immigration Studies shows that high percentages of legal and illegal immigrants in America are drawing benefits from at least one major form of welfare.

Using U.S. Census Bureau data from 2010 and 2011, the group analyzed the more than 50 million legal and illegal immigrants and their American-born children under 18 years of age. Large numbers, the limited immigration advocacy group found, are struggling in poverty, reliant on welfare and uninsured." -DAILY CALLER

"Welfare enrollment was highest for households headed by immigrants originating in Mexico, with 57 percent participation. Guatemalan immigrants were second, with 55 percent; those from the Dominican Republic were third, with 54 percent participation.

Immigrants with the lowest rate of welfare participation came to the United States from the United Kingdom, with just 6 percent accessing one or more welfare programs, Germany at 10 percent and Canada with 13 percent, according to the report."

OBAMA ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION: THE GOOD THE BAD & THE UGLY

President Obama did some more Hispandering yesterday speaking to a "town hall" carried on the Spanish television network Univision. His remarks show some improvement but, in some areas he still does not get it! Here are some of the money quotes:

"President Barack Obama on Monday told a student who has received a deportation notice that he does not want to deport her -- he wants people like her to succeed."

Succeed at what? Continuing to break our immigration laws? Succeed in jumping to the head of the line over other more deserving immigrants who are patiently waiting to enter the United States legally? Succeed in making U.S. taxpayers continue to pay for her education?

"The president later added, “America is a nation of laws, which means I, as the president, am obligated to enforce the law.”

BINGO! Yes, enforce the law Obama. But, you are not enforcing the law when you give a free pass to those who are here illegally and allow them to take advantage of U.S. taxpayers by allowing them to take seats away from U.S. and legal immigrants in colleges and rewarding them with misguided legislation like the DREAM ACT.

"After the president addressed the illegal-alien student’s question, the moderator of the event asked Obama, “Mr. President, my question will be as follows: With an executive order, could you be able to stop deportation of the students?”
Obama said, “There are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system that for me to simply, through executive order, ignore those congressional mandates, would not conform with my appropriate role as president.” 

Maybe we are getting somewhere here. Perhaps Obama finally is starting to understand that Congress and the American people have made it clear that we want illegal immigration to stop and we want something done about the illegal immigrants in this country who continue to violate U.S. immigration laws. We don't want to continue to reward them.  He's getting better but, still has a long way to go.

Arizona rollover tragedy. Who is to blame?

Today was the day that there was supposed to be a meeting at the White House of the Obama administration and the groups like La Raza & Democratic Congressman Luis Gutierrez that want amnesty for the 12 million plus illegal immigrants in our country who blatantly choose to ignore our immigration laws. That meeting has been postponed until June 17th. mark that date on your calenders. But this morning CBS radio carried a news story of a rollover of a van in Arizona that was carrying AT LEAST 27 illegal immigrants. Eight were killed and 14 were air lifted to hospitals. Yes, this was a tragedy it's a tragedy for the illegals but the cold hard truth is nobody put a gun to their head and made them enter the U.S. illegally so my sympathy is limited for them. They obviously did not get the memo as Mickey Kaus points out that the illegals are returning home is record numbers. It is also a tragedy for the U.S. taxpayers who will be picking up the the medical costs for those illegals. Here is the money quote:

"We're looking at a lot of expenses tied in with this particular collision and unfortunately the worst part of it is, it's a loss of human life, the unnecessary loss of human lives, and the people who are obviously hurt and seriously injured,"says Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada.

Meanwhile U.S. citizens are going bankrupt trying to pay their OWN medical bills. Whose is to blame for this tragedy? Clearly the illegals themselves bare part of of it. The people who were transporting them too. But, I think that most of the blame belongs to our Federal Government. Now run by the Obama administration who continue to allow these illegals to cross our borders and have have an almost criminal lack of enforcement policy once they arrive here. Thanks in part to the liberal Democrats and especially to Homeland Security Secretary Janet NO(enforcement)politano. Bottom line is this accident and other similar incidents would not be happening if the Obama Administration and the Federal Government were doing it's job in border security and enforcing immigration law.

Hey Obama here's an onshore tax loophole you can plug!

While it may be commendable that President Obama is going after the offshore tax loopholes. Even though it may cripple some silicon valley firms. Well I guess after the banking industry and the car makers what other industries are there left to cripple? Meanwhile, the Obama administration has ignored tax programs like the Earned Income Tax Credit program right here in the U.S. that has a fraud rate approaching 30%.



Here is the money (literally billions) quote from a Treasury Department audit report on another program that tells that illegal immigrants are gaming the system and also picking up child tax credit money from U.S. taxpayers. Again billions of dollars worth of fraud!:

"But enthusiasm for the credit has blinded policy makers to its problems. The EITC program is dominated by fraud. Year after year about one-third of all EITC returns are based on illegal multiple returns, phony Social Security numbers, or claims of non-existent children or spouses. A disproportionate share of illegal alien households receive the benefit.

President Obama’s stimulus program includes tax cuts for low-income workers. The purpose, of course, is to put money back into taxpayers’ hands so they will spend it and boost the economy. But thanks to the EITC, much of the “tax relief” will go to people who have never paid a cent of tax—and may have already defrauded the government of huge sums each year.

As you know, the improper payments made in the Earned Income Tax Credit make up the second largest portion of government-wide improper payments for fiscal year 2005, estimating $9.6 to $11.4 billion dollars paid improperly.In fiscal year 2004, EITC had an improper payment rate of 25 percent. For fiscal year 2005, it was 28 percent and this is on the low side, because it’s just an estimate."
