ILLEGALS R US

The corporate weasels at TOYS R US are despicable. They had a contest to give a $25,000 Savings Bond to the first baby born in the UNITED STATES after midnight on January 1, 2007.

"according to the official rules, the mother must be a legal U.S. resident."

Guess what?

"the prize instead was awarded to the runner-up - Jayden Swain, born 19 seconds after midnight at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga. - after the contest administrator was told that Yuki's mother "was not a legal resident of the United States."

Here is the weaselly response from Toys R Us:

"We deeply regret that this sweepstakes became a point of controversy. As a result, we have decided to award all three babies in the grand prize pool a $25,000 savings bond."

Oh yeah the third baby in the running was born in Bay Shore, N.Y., to a couple from El Salvador.

Don't even ask about that that situation!
