LI Congressman Tim Bishop gets an earful from "activists" but, not the ones he is use too.

Why should the radical liberal ACORN "activists" have all the fun? Congressman Tim Bishop of Long Island found out what happens when middle class taxpayers are "silent no more" and start to let their elected leaders know how pissed off they are.

I've had my own issues with Tim Bishop on his support of amnesty for illegal immigrants. It looks like others have issues with him and the other liberal Dems who are running congress. People are not in the mood for pols like Bishop to try and fly under the radar and want results from our Federal Government. We are tired of being reminded of the Federal Government's failures like illegal immigrants loitering around on street corners. Excuses no longer cut it and the people who were willing embrace change with Obama are becoming active enough to make other changes that liberal Dems like Bishop may soon find out about the hard way in the next election.

CONYERS: The coward, the criminal and the "powers that be"

In a stunning example about how corrupt the ethics of the liberal Democrats now in charge of the congress have become two items stood out concerning the Democratic head of the House Judiciary Committee john Conyers. All of which was ignored by the liberal mainstream media. One was that his wife Monica Conyers a Detriot councilwoman pleaded guilty to Federal charges of conspiracy to commit bribery. That was bad enough but, even more egregious is that Conyers head of the Judiciary Committee is not going to be investigating ACORN the organization that is now a target of 14 voter fraud investigations. When Conyers was pressed why his committee would not be holding hearings he said the "powers that be" did not want it. Here is the money quote from the WASHINGTON TIMES:

"Pittsburgh lawyer Heather Heidelbaugh, whose testimony about ACORN at a March 19 hearing on voting issues prompted Mr. Conyers to call for a probe, said she was perplexed by Mr. Conyers' explanation for his change of heart.
"If the chair of the Judiciary Committee cannot hold a hearing if he want to [then] who are the powers that he is beholden to?" she said. "Is it the leadership, is it the White House, is it contributors? Who is 'the power?'"

Indeed who are the "powers that be" that led Conyers to drop any hearings into ACORN. It's a question that won't be asked by the liberal mainstream media that's for sure. But, we citizens should be demanding an answer to.

Stepping out with the CAPITOL STEPS

A number of years ago I visited the Washington Office of my Senator the once honorable Alphonse D'Amato to express my opposition to the Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant.. There I was greeted by one of the Senator's senior staffers Elaina Newport. A woman who looked familiar. Back then she looked an awful lot like Ann Coulter. Come to think of it I have never seen a picture of them together. But, it was only later that I realized that Ms. Newport was a member of the Washington D.C. based satirical comedy troupe The Capitol Steps. Since I'm working out of the BCP Washington Bureau for the next week we decided to go see the Steps at The Ronald Reagan Center where they preform every Friday and Saturday night. I was not disappointed. Even better the show we were attending was being taped for the Capitol Steps Fourth of July radio show on NPR next weekend. So check your local listings you might hear me and the rest of the audience having a good laugh and you will too!

Michael Jackson is dead but....

The creepy Michael Jackson has died but, strangely life goes on for billions of other people around the world. But, you could not tell that to the mainstream media and cable news directors. Who were weeping but the tears were tears of joy. As they they dropped all other news to cover this idiots death endlessly. It was just another reason to keep the TV turned off, I should have known better. Luckily there was CSPAN which had an interview with David Frost of "Frost/Nixon" fame which had no mention of the bankrupt pop star's death. I hope they cover their own demise as well. Because when it came to covering any important news the cable news outlets were useless places for it yesterday.

Obama & Americorp scandal: Let the corruption begin

One wonders why President Obama would remove the Inspector General looking into the misuse of our taxpayer dollars by institutions and groups who are funded by the goverment backed Americorps. Why indeed! Michelle Malkin has more, much more.

Dow average rises and so does the media BS!

Media outlets like CNN and others are making a big whoop de do about how the Dow Jones industrial averages oth are rising into the positive territory for the first time this year. Sounds good doesn't it? That what the Obama administration would love you to believe. But, before you take those numbers at face value remember the both Citigroup and General Motors were knocked off the Dow Jones list recently. How could it not go up with those pieces of crap stocks not in the average anymore. File this news in the Hello Suckers file for now.

TV OR NOT TV THAT IS THE QUESTION

Well today is the day that TV stations across America will be turning off their analog TV transmitters and only broadcasting in the new Digital transmission format. I have not turned on my TV set since April and you know what I don't miss it it at all. I am able to get all the information I need from the Internet and radio. I find I'm actually more productive in doing this. I can listen to radio (mostly for weather forecasts) while doing other things. The Internet also allows me to get right to the information I need and not what some TV news director or programmer thinks I'd be interested in (or feels I should be interested in). So as far as the change in the TV transmission. I've made my television change months ago by keeping the TV set in the off position.

Working Families Party and ACORN in the hood.

I was working in the garage at Rancho de BCP here on Long Island the other night. I thought I heard someone knocking on the front door. A few seconds later I saw a young twenty something fellow come into view. He saw me and stopped. He held a clipboard with a petition or poll and mentioned he was from the Working Families Party. He asked if I could answer a few questions. I looked at him and said I really don't care for groups that are associated with ACORN. He stopped and said I understand and then just walked away. Looks like the organizers for the radical left group ACORN and the Working Families party are counting on the uninformed voters not knowing about the ACORN/Working Families connection. But, I am not one of those voters.

Arizona rollover tragedy. Who is to blame?

Today was the day that there was supposed to be a meeting at the White House of the Obama administration and the groups like La Raza & Democratic Congressman Luis Gutierrez that want amnesty for the 12 million plus illegal immigrants in our country who blatantly choose to ignore our immigration laws. That meeting has been postponed until June 17th. mark that date on your calenders. But this morning CBS radio carried a news story of a rollover of a van in Arizona that was carrying AT LEAST 27 illegal immigrants. Eight were killed and 14 were air lifted to hospitals. Yes, this was a tragedy it's a tragedy for the illegals but the cold hard truth is nobody put a gun to their head and made them enter the U.S. illegally so my sympathy is limited for them. They obviously did not get the memo as Mickey Kaus points out that the illegals are returning home is record numbers. It is also a tragedy for the U.S. taxpayers who will be picking up the the medical costs for those illegals. Here is the money quote:

"We're looking at a lot of expenses tied in with this particular collision and unfortunately the worst part of it is, it's a loss of human life, the unnecessary loss of human lives, and the people who are obviously hurt and seriously injured,"says Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada.
Meanwhile U.S. citizens are going bankrupt trying to pay their OWN medical bills. Whose is to blame for this tragedy? Clearly the illegals themselves bare part of of it. The people who were transporting them too. But, I think that most of the blame belongs to our Federal Government. Now run by the Obama administration who continue to allow these illegals to cross our borders and have have an almost criminal lack of enforcement policy once they arrive here. Thanks in part to the liberal Democrats and especially to Homeland Security Secretary Janet NO(enforcement)politano. Bottom line is this accident and other similar incidents would not be happening if the Obama Administration and the Federal Government were doing it's job in border security and enforcing immigration law.

From the OBAMA: FAILURE IS AN OPTION files. E-Verify posponed AGAIN!

Posted by Picasa

A report in Washington Technology states that the Obama Administration is once again delaying implementation of the E-Verify system for government contractors. Here are some of the money quotes:

"The Homeland Security Department is expected to delay the deadline again, from June 30, for mandatory contractor use of the E-Verify employment verification system, Jennifer Kerber, vice president for federal and homeland security policy for TechAmerica, wrote in an e-mail message to members today."

"It would be the fourth time DHS' U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency has delayed the controversial rule."

It is becoming apparent that the Obama Administration and groups that represent those that hire illegal immigrants (represented by the "U.S. Chamber of Commerce") DO NOT want to implement anything that helps enforce the law regarding illegal immigration. It seems failure is an option in the Obama Administration when it comes to enforcing U.S. immigration laws and especially when it comes to using E-Verify to make sure that the people hired to work on U.S. (taxpayer paid for) government contracts are legally entitled to work in this country. I guess that's too much to ask of the Obama administration.

Out of Africa and back to a news Obamanation.

We arrived back in Washington D.C. on Saturday after three weeks in Africa. I was out of the "news" loop and away from the MSM for most of the time. Though we did hear of Obama's pick for the Supreme Court from a Brit at bar in Mozambique. Other than that it was pretty much safari's, staring at Victoria Falls, African sunsets or snorkeling on a reef off of Mozambique. So it was with some anticipation that I turned on CNN to see what the important news of the day after a virtual three week news blackout. CNN deemed it wise to use it's news gathering resources and airtime to cover "live" President Obama's motorcade turning onto 46th street to go see a play in New York. This is still what passes for "news" with MSM outlets like CNN. Sad.
