Boycott Tyson, Cargill, Hormell & Seaboard foods.

It seems some meatpacking companies have no scruples. On Monday May 1st several companies are going to allow their mostly immigrant workers the day off so they can attend pro illegal immigration rallies to pressure the Congress of the United States to grant amnesty to the illegal immigrants some of which have hired by these companies to work in their plants.
These corporations Seaboard, Cargill, Hormel and Tyson need to be made to understand that we tax paying citizens will not tolerate their support of illegal immigration and the burden they place on middle class taxpayers.
What better way to send them the message than to deny them our hard earned dollars and boycott their products. Even better make a few phone calls on Monday May 1st and let them know that as a U.S. taxpayer you don't appreciate them trying make middle class taxpayers subsidize their workforce and ignore the immigration laws of the United States.
Call Seaboard at 1-800-262-7907, Cargill at 1-800-CARGILL (227-4455), Hormel at (507) 437-5611 and Tyson at (479) 290-4000 on Monday May 1st to let them you are boycotting them for supporting illegal immigration.

Yeah! Boycott restaurants, lawns, gardens, public work projects, hotels, salsa (the condiment and the dancing) because we need to clean up America... again. God i wish it were 1917 again so we could boycott all things European as well.

You forgot to mention boycotting fruits and vegetables. Beer can is right...I think I will have a Tecate. This blog is ignorant beyond belief and I can't believe I am even reading parts of it....especially since most of it is not even spelled correctly.

Anon:
I'm for a guest worker program I just don't think you should reward people who have broken our laws with amnesty. There are thousands lined up on the border today who would could come here legally and do the work tommorrow. We should not reward those who have willingly violated our laws and that includes the corporations who hire the illegals and then give them the day off so they can protest for amnesty while the middle clas taxpayers are at work trying to make money to pay the increasing local tax bills.

I understand your point about the rule of law, but if the law doesn't match the demands of the labor market... or the security demands that SHOULD focus on real threats (like port containers)then I say document the undocumented. The Senate proposal sets a high bar to EARN amnesty and eventually citizenship.

I just can't imagine US citizens of any ethnicity doing the work that undocumented immigrants do now -- try to run a cattle business without undocumented labor -- you won't last. It is HARD WORK and US citizens don't want the work.

I don't think your stupid, i just think you are ignorant of border economic realities --- and that translates into some very racially charged comments on this blog. Dude, you only mention the northern border after someone else did.

My elderly relatives don't like undocumented Mexicans trespassing on their ranch but they also despise the militirization of the border (Border Patrol agents have little respect for property owners). Plenty of my Anglo friends agree that this blog is VERY biased. Many of my Republican Latino friends are frankly embrassed by the demonization that is taking place because it mirrors other sad times in US history when immigrants were scapegoated. And that is what is happening today.

Thanks for your comments. The rule of law has nothing to do with the cheap labor market. Welcome to the business world. If you can not make money without hiring illegal workers then you have the wrong business model.
That said I have written here many times that I am in favor of a guest worker program. For example If you have a ranch and you need workers from Mexico or wherever fine. You can have them as long as they are here legally and the government knows they are here they are paying taxes like every other worker in this country is supposed to do and when the work is done they will return to their country.
Many of the illegals here are hard workers. My main problem is that they are here illegally and they are degrading our communities because they can nnot live in decent housing making the money they do. In rural areas in the southwest that may not be noticed but, in suburban communites here in the Northeast it degrades our quality of life and the services increase the tax burden on local taxpayers. I'm not scapgoating them but, I won't tolerate or condone the fact that hey are here illegally. By the same token I condemn the business that hire the illegals and then cry "well we don't know if the are illegal or not." That is a bunch of business BS If you go to a 7/11 grab a guy hanging out on a street for work you know damn well he is not here illegally. The fact that a person is hanging out on a street corner looking for work also shows that there are too many illegals in this country. A well set up guest worker program would match the employers with employees.
