Well it seems BP (British Petroleum) did it again and guess who will be paying higher prices for gas? Hint: Look in the mirror! BP plans to shut down 8% of crude oil flow here in the U.S. because it suddenly discovered a leak and corrosion he pipeline in Alaska. Seems someone was not inspecting and maintaining things as they should. But, then again accidents are nothing new in BP's operations and they are one of the better companies in the oil business. There was also the fatal accident in BP's Texas City refinery that killed 15 workers guess how much of a fine BP paid for that accident? Oil prices jumped up two dollars a barrel on this news. Guess which industry (including BP) will be making more money because of that price spike?
