How do you sleep?

The Washington Post has an interesting article about many of the staff in the White house who have left recently. Unlike the neocons like Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz who slithered away after they saw the mess they created in Iraq was not going to be something they would want to list on a resume. These true believers stayed way too long and some seem to have enough conscience to actually have some regrets. Here are some of the money quotes:

"But mistakes were made and there's a cost to it."

Then there is Meghan O'Sullivan a former top advisor at the White House on Iraq

"Too soon, evidently, for the dreams to end. "In fact, I was dreaming about Iraq last night," she said. "And I woke up and thought, 'When do you think this will stop?' "

Perhaps Joe Kliens advice to a White House staffer writing op-ed pieces to justify the continuing the Iraq war might good therapy:

"Stop writing this swill and think about penance. Take some time to clear your head, a lot of time, and pay for your sins by emptying bedpans at Walter Reed."
