The House yesterday passed a far-reaching new farm bill that preserves the existing system of subsidies for commercial farmers and adds billions of dollars for conservation, nutrition and new agricultural sectors.-Washington Post
While it may just be coincidence that the House passed the farm bill on a summer Friday when most people are away on vacations. Friday is usually the day Washington known as take out the trash day. The day when if you are a politician you like to put out the bad news in the hopes that the public or some curious journalists may not notice. Like I said it may just be coincidence but, here is the money quote:
