Thinking about Independence Day

As July 4th approaches and begin thinking about the meaning of independence. That includes independence from our use of fossil fuels that despite the talking points from the Bush administration lies at the heart of why American soldiers continue to die in Iraq, It would be easy to get depressed about the situation in America these days. But, along comes this story about some American patriots who are leading the way independently and helping us all in the process.

The oil companies are definitely blocking this countries effort to move forward and get off our dependence for fossil fuel. We probably will not be totally weaned from its use in the near future but there are many alternatives. There is the above mentioned junk oil left over from the resturants but mosts people do not have the time or want to make the effort to do this. I believe if the prices continue to rise, some folks will be forced to use this fuel to get to work. There is also a coal clean fuel available as I was watching someone from the midwest who was able to refine the coal into a clear clean buring alterntive. There are many ways to do this but the oil companies do not want anyone to cut into their profits and will block this at all cost. They must satisfy their shareholders in all all likelyhood, are not the average citizen. California was using electric cars that were very efficient but with pressure from the oil companies, the auto company is scraping them. This is a real outrage and until folks start screaming louder and louder, we will continue to be slaves to the Middle East terrorist's.

Yeah Suzieq I agree with you about the oil and energy companies. That's why I am not waiting for the government to do anything as the energy lobbyist seem to be in control. that why I have restarted the solar hot water system I installed on my house in the 1980's only I am converting it to provide heat as I don't have a need for much hot water. It worked real good last winter and I am hoping to refine it more this winter. I am hoping to freeze the energy companies out of my house very soon and hope that we will get them out of our cars soon too!
