25 reasons why the Senate Amnesty Bill should not be passed!
1. Security doesn't come first in this bill. This bill would immediately legalize illegal aliens that are currently in the country. The only way Congress will actually see to it that the border security and enforcement provisions in the bill will be implemented is if they have to do them before they even consider an amnesty for the people who are here.
2. Illegal aliens won't have to pay back taxes - where do we get the same deal? The whole idea that illegal aliens shouldn't have to pay the taxes they already owe for working in the United States is utterly and completely offensive because it actually gives them a privilege that American citizens aren't getting: forgiveness for taxes owed to the IRS.
3. If passed, this bill will make taxpayers pay the legal bills for illegal aliens seeking amnesty. Tucked away on page 317 is a provision that would allow lawyers in the federally-funded legal services program to represent illegal aliens, which they are presently barred from doing.
4. This bill rewards illegal aliens for breaking our laws. There are tens of millions of people who respect our laws and our country, waiting patiently, in line, often in their home countries, to get a chance to come here. Under this bill, illegal aliens will immediately be eligible for a "Z Visa" which allows them to work, go to school, and - this is important - stay here for the rest of their lives if they so choose because there is no limit on the number of times it can be renewed.
5. The bill gives the government only one business day to conduct a background check to determine whether an applicant is a criminal or a terrorist. It is impossible, of course, to determine in a single day whether someone is a terrorist or a criminal. Remember this is the same government who cannot locate approximately 600,000 illegal aliens who have already been CONVICTED OF CRIMES. How can they be expected to
adequately check criminal/terrorist backgrounds in a single day?
6. In the bill Section 601(g)(2), illegal-alien gang members would be eligible for amnesty merely by signing a "renunciation of gang affiliation." Do you think a gang member who would kill you on a dare would lie on a piece of paper to get his get out of jail free card?
7. Gang-bangers and other criminals, who have been ordered to leave the United States by an immigration judge but defy the ruling, are called absconders. Section 601(d)(1)(I) permits U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to grant an absconder a Z visa anyway if he can show that being forced to leave the United States "would result in extreme hardship" to the alien, his spouse, parent or child.
8. The bill effectively shuts down our immigration-court system. If an alien in the removal process is eligible for the Z visa, the immigration judge must close the proceedings and offer the alien the chance to apply for the amnesty.
9. If ICE officials apprehend an alien who appears eligible for the Z visa (in other words, just about any illegal alien), they can't detain him. Instead, ICE must help him apply for the Z visa. Rather than initiating removal proceedings, ICE will be initiating amnesty applications. It's like turning the Drug Enforcement Agency into a needle-distribution network.
10. To qualify for the Z-visa amnesty, an illegal alien need only have a job (or be the parent, spouse, or child of someone with a job) and come up with a scrap of paper suggesting he was in the country before Jan. 1 of this year. Any bank statement, pay stub, or similarly forgeable record will do. Expect a mass influx unlike anything this country has seen before, once the 12-month period for accepting Z visa applications begins. These rules are an open invitation to sneak in and present a fraudulent piece of paper indicating that you were already here.
11. As promised, the bill will legalize most of the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens now in the country via a new "Z visa." Each would pay $3,000 - only slightly more than the going rate to be smuggled into America. This is not up front. They will have eight years to pay it back.
12. Supporters of the bill call the Z visa "temporary" - neglecting to mention that it can be renewed indefinitely until the visa holder dies. Thus, we have the country's first permanent temporary visa. On top of that, it's a super-visa - allowing the holder to work, attend college or do just about anything else.
Are you a law-abiding alien who's interested in switching to this privileged status? Sorry. Only illegal aliens can qualify.
13. The bill increases legal migration by at least 50 percent over the next decade by granting green cards to all the remote relatives who are in the chain migration categories, a number estimated at 750,000 to 900,000 a year. That is triple the current number of 250,000. Giving green cards to millions of additional relatives ensures that legal immigration will continue to grow as this larger pool of permanent residents brings in spouses. Would you like to guess what the cost to the American taxpayer will be for this? Ask your Senator/Congressman what they believe the American taxpayer should have to pay and how much the cost will be. It is a 100% guarantee they will not give you either figure.
14. The bill claims that bench marks must be met before amnesty/guest-worker provisions go into effect. But the bench marks fail to require that the U.S.-Mexico border be closed, fail to require that the border fence be completed as mandated by Congress in October and fail to require that the Department of Homeland Security implement the entry-exit visa system so Americans can know if visitors and guest workers actually leave. The border security part of the bill calls for a 370-mile-long fence on the U.S./Mexico border. That is only half as long as the 700-mile-long
fence ordered by the Secure Fence Act passed overwhelmingly by Congress and stentatiously signed by the president in front of TV cameras just before the November 2006 election.
15. Another bench mark is that "tools" will be provided to prevent illegal immigrants from getting jobs, including requirements for identification standards and an employee verification system. But the bill lacks a requirement that anybody actually use the tools.
16. The costs of the Senate immigration bill are mind-boggling. Unbelievably, the Senate has made no attempt to estimate this costs or how to how to pay them. The Heritage Foundation's Robert Rector puts a potential price tag on this bill of $2.5 trillion, which is five times the cost of the Iraq war.
17. At least 60 percent of illegal immigrants lack a high school diploma, which means they will work low-wage jobs, pay little or no income tax, and be heavy users of our schools and means-tested social benefits such as Medicaid, school lunches, Women, Infants and Children Program, subsidized housing, the Earned Income Tax Credit, and free legal counsel.
18. Fiscal costs would go up dramatically after amnesty recipients reach retirement. Each elderly low-skill immigrant imposes a net cost - that is benefits minus taxes - on U.S. taxpayers of about $17,000 per year, according to the Heritage Foundation. These costs would hit Social Security and Medicare at the very time Social Security is expected to go into crisis.
19. Section 413 calls on Congress to "accelerate the implementation" of the Security and Prosperity Partnership - announced by Bush in Waco, Texas, in 2005 - so that the United States can "improve the standard of living in Mexico." Do U.S. taxpayers want to take on the awesome economic burden of solving poverty problems in Mexico?
20. The Senate immigration bill states that the United States want to increase access to credit for "poor and under-served populations in Mexico," and expand efforts "to reduce the transaction costs of remittance flows" from the U.S. to Mexico now running at $23 billion a year. That is money made in the US but transferred out of our economy.
21. The Senate bill also puts the United States into a "partnership" with Mexico for "increasing health care access for poor and under-served populations in Mexico," for "assisting Mexico in increasing its emergency and trauma health care facilities," and for "expanding prenatal care" in the border region. Do U.S. taxpayers want to take on the awesome economic burden of solving problems in Mexico?
22. The Senate bill authorizes 4,000 new Border Patrol agents, but doesn't require that they be trained or deployed. There is nothing in this bill which says these agents must be used to secure the border and not to help pass out applications for Z Visas anywhere in the US.
23. Illegal Aliens will receive instate tuition. Illegal aliens would receive a taxpayer subsidy worth tens of thousands of dollars and would be treated better than U.S. citizens from out of state, who must pay three to four times as much to attend college. In an era of limited educational resources and rising tuitions, U.S. citizens, not aliens openly violating federal law, should be first in line to receive education subsidies.
24. Health standards ignored - Unlike legal immigrants, no medical exam or immunizations are needed to get a Z visa. Are you ready for the reintroduction of widespread Tuberculosis into the United States? Will your children be protected against catching this at school?
25. The amnestee doesn't have to know squat in English to get probationary status or a Z visa. After four years when seeking to renew the Z visa the first time, he only has to take - not pass, just take - the naturalization language test or be on a waiting list for English classes. "Learn English" only happens after eight years, and then it's not actual mastery of the language. SWEET!
26 (bonus reason). The advocates of this amnesty bill say "It's not amnesty because they have to pay a fine." The truth is there is no mechanism to collect these "fines" and do ANY kind of enforcement if the fines are not paid. The federal government has not even finished processing the amnesty applications from the 1986 amnesty (21 years later) for what was supposed to be just over 1 million people and no fines. There is no way they will be chasing down 12 million who fail to pay a $1000 payment on a $5000 fine when they cannot locate 600,000 criminals convicted of serious crimes. In reality there will be no enforcement.
IT IS AMNESTY and any one who says it is not, is telling you a lie and they know it! Have you called a Senator yet today?

E.J. Dionne's dumb arguments on the Senate Shamnesty bill
"In any event, the notion that all or even most of the 200,000 guest workers would return home on schedule is laughable. We could be opening up a brand-new immigration problem."
Oh but, granting an amnesty to 12 million (minimum) people who have ignored and broken our current immigration laws will not cause a future immigration problems E.J.? It won't send a message to others break into the country lie low and eventually they have to give you amnesty. Like we did in 1986 and the stupid Senators are proposing now!
The other provision that bothers so many Democrats, particularly Latinos, is a point system based on various qualifications, including employment and education, for determining who would get preferences for green cards. It would have the effect of making it harder for immigrants to bring in members of their families.
We've constantly heard from the pro illegal lobbyists the the illegals "just come here to work" now all of a sudden they demand the right to bring their families in too! So instead of 12 million people you will have an influx of 36 to maybe 100 million people coming into the country. Of course that does not concern Washington based liberals like Dionne and the Senators pushing this bill. They won't pay the higher school and social services costs these additional immigrants will add to local communities.
You can't kick them out. Anybody who advocates trying to dig out 12 million people who have been in our society for a while is sending a signal to the American people that's just not real. It's an impractical solution.
Here Dionne hides behind the White Flag logic of George Bush and the surrender Senators. That is our Federal Government is incapable of securing our borders and also enforcing our immigration laws inside the United States so we just surrender and make all the illegals legal and sweep this problem under the rug and say look we solved the problem.

Bill Richardson dumb as George Bush on illegal immigration
Russert might also ask him about his comments that he feels Alberto Gonzales should stay on as Attorney General because he is the highest ranking Hispanic in the Bush Administration. File that position by Richardson in the "What the F*#K?" file. Tim should also ask him how do say "racist position" in Spanish?
A tale of two immigrants.
"Most immigrants want to learn English, Pulido said, but "culturally, there is a disincentive" in Southern California. "I can go to the bank in Spanish, the store, the laundry, read a newspaper, listen to the radio, watch TV -- all in Spanish," he said. Even many Asian immigrant merchants speak Spanish. Workers can build houses, trim lawns, cook in restaurants and work on assembly lines for years without speaking a word of English."
Stories like this show why the current immigration wave is different from previous immigration influxes into the U.S. Here is a very revealing video it is an interview of two immigrants and the gap in their communication skills:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Olz9sLlZ0E
Illegal Immigration fines:The New York Times gets it wrong!
"Two-thirds of those polled said illegal immigrants who had a good employment history and no criminal record should gain legal status as the bill proposes, which is by paying at least $5,000 in fines and fees and receiving a renewable four-year visa. "
That is just plain WRONG! The illegal immigrants under the Senate Amnesty Bill ONLY HAS TO PAY A FINE OF $1,000 to become legal to work indefinitely in the United States under the Senate amnesty bill. They ONLY have to pay the additional $4,000 IF the want to become a U.S. citizen. The New York Times got it wrong and so did the gang of 12 Senators who cooked up this backroom amnesty deal. So the next time you see a media outlet or a politician trying to say that the illegals will pay a $5,000 fine to become legal call them on it!

Gwen Ifill's program is AWFUL!
A whole LOTT of stupidity!
'Look, I put my credentials up against anybody out there in terms of being a conservative. But there's one difference, I'm a conservative who thinks that we have to act. This is a big problem, it's a big issue. Have we no courage at all?'
Courage is one thing Senator Lott, stupidity is another thing altogether.
Bozo Bush speaks on illegal immigration but, ignores U.S. laws!
Hmmm, kind of sending the country to war to destroy Iraq's weapons of mass destruction eh George? Now that our President has become a surrender monkey and admits he can not and will not enforce U.S. laws inside U.S. borders the Dems have an opportunity to bring impeacment proceedings against him for failing to protect the United States from illegal aliens and enforce the immigration laws. But, I am not holding my breath waitng for such action.
Silent Amnesty? How about some yelling voters!
Then there is Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano who is also drinking the Kennedy/McCain/Bush Amnesty kool aid talking points. She has also used the "Silent Amnesty" phrase talking points in talking about her support for the Amnesty Bill.
MEMO TO: REPUBLICAN SURRENDER MONKEY MICHAEL CHERTOFF
cc: ARIZONIA DUMBOCRATIC GOVERNOR JANET NAPOLITANO
If the Senate Amnesty Bill is not passed (and hopefully it won't) there will only be a "silent amnesty" if the Federal Government continues to fail to enforce our current immigration laws. You might be surprised what happens when people do their jobs and laws are enforced. Maybe just as surprised as the Senators who vote for the Senate Amnesty bill should be when they are voted out of office.

Send Michael Chertoff, Bush & Congress a White Flag of Surrender
"Chertoff acknowledged there is "a fundamental unfairness" in legislation that permits illegal immigrants to remain in the United States but said trying to force them to leave would be impossible, USA Today reported."
Let me get this straight Mr. Chertoff you as Homeland Security Secretary are saying the United States Government can no longer enforce it's laws within it's own borders? You are admitting that you and the Federal Government have no control over who comes into the United States i.e. there are no borders. Since you have not been able to secure them. And you have no power to enforce the laws of this country when they are broken. Why is there even a Department of Homeland Security? You have surrendered the laws of this country to those who are able to break them.
"We are bowing to reality," Chertoff said."
No, Mr. Chertoff you are admitting the FAILURE of the Federal Government to secure the borders of the United States and that the U.S. government can no longer enforce immigration laws within it's borders. You are surrendering to those who break our laws. The flag that flys from the flagpole outside Homeland Security and the Whitehouse should be a changed from an American flag to a white flag of surrender. Everyone should send Chertoff and Bush as well as any of the Senators who vote for this Senate amnesty bill a white flag because they want to surrender the laws of this country to those who are able to break them. As for me I have chosen to stand and fight!

Op-ed idiocy on immigration.
"As usual, those yelling "amnesty" are the loudest voices. But they are increasingly out of sync with the public on immigration. Poll after poll in the past year shows 60 to 85 percent of voters in favor of an overhaul that would allow illegal immigrants to earn their way to citizenship by meeting certain requirements "
Poll after poll Ms Jacoby? Well maybe I'll just let Roy Beck from Numbers USA answer this one. As my friends father use to say "let's take a look at those numbers" and Roy Beck does.
"As for the right's new argument that requiring illegal immigrants to register and undergo security checks is amnesty, that's preposterous. Even registering -- as distinct from citizenship -- will cost $1,000. "
Wow a thousand dollars to stay in the country after they were willing spend $3,000 to $5,000 to come across our borders and violate U.S. law. That's a real punishment! And the best part is they get to stay and continue working! Yeah that's a real get tough policy on illegal immigration and will really encourage respect for our laws.
"And surely it would be good for the country to know these workers' real names, vet their backgrounds and get them paying their full freight in taxes."
Oh, glad you mentioned taxes Ms. Jacoby. Where is the talk from all the advocates of this bill about the illegal immigrants paying their $1,000 fine and BACK TAXES? Answer: There is none. Well then where can U.S. workers work for five, ten, fifteen etc... years without paying taxes and then only pay a $1,000 fine? Answer: HOLA SUCKERS!

Pro-amnesty Senators have hit a wall or a least a fence.
"The Senate voted last night to move forward on an overhaul of immigration laws, but even proponents of the delicate compromise proposal conceded that the furor over the deal was surpassing their expectations and endangering the plan."
All the pro-illegal amnesty lobby was represented very well in those closed door meetings. Senator Jeff Sessions has the money quote as to who was not:
"As for the negotiations that led to the immigration compromise, "I will tell you who was not in those meetings: It was the American people." In fact, negotiators "would listen to everybody, I guess, but the American people."
Well they had better start listening now!

Memo to the President
Mr. President:
Immigration is not a tough issue many of us Americans. But, concept of the enforcement of our our laws seems to be a tough issue for you and others in Washington. As far as treating illegal immigrants with respect. They will earn respect from Americans when they start respecting our immigration laws as many of those who come here legally do. And finally yes what you are proposing is amnesty and the animosity the U.S. citizens feel is for you and the Senators in Washington trying to ram this bill through the Senate.
Saturday, May 19, 2007
From the mind of Menendez
"WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), a key negotiator in closed door Senate meetings on immigration reform, today voiced his objections to the agreement announced. Menendez said he could not support the limitations in the family reunification program, the temporary nature of the worker program, and the unrealistically high fees that undocumented immigrants would have to pay."
So according to Senator Menendez it is not enough that the American people have to grant amnesty to 12 million people who have ignored and violated our laws. We also have to allow them to bring their families. Let's see 12 million illegals, a wife, two children (conservative estimate), brother, sister, mom and dad. So we could be talking about 76 million people conservatively added to the population of the United States in a very short amount of time. Along with the social services, schools and other costs. But, of course George Bush and Dumbocrats like Menendez are not thinking about these costs to local taxpayers they are Federal officials they don't have to. But, Menendez is worried about some costs. The cost of the fine the illegals would have to pay under the bill for violating our laws. He calls the fine "unrealistically high" Oh my. It will cost taxpayer about $10,000 per year to educate each of the illegal immigrants children alone and the Senator thinks a $5,000 fine for breaking our laws for years is too much. Give me a break!
Senator Menendez then had this to say about the bill he was in the backroom negotiating:
"I for one cannot settle for something that isn't responsible, or something that creates a bigger problem than already exists."
Well, Senator Menendez you already have!
Friday, May 18, 2007
Where to begin?
Chertoff is jerking us!
The question is, 'Do you want to solve the problem, or do you want to complain about it?' " said Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff. "There will be people who want to complain and will miss the problem if they can't complain about it. This is about solving it."
Hey Chertoff! The American people have been complaining about the illegal immigration problem for years. Granting amnesty to the illegals is NOT solving the problem! It was tried in 1986 when there were 3 million illegals now their are 12 million (minimum) and you want to do the same thing again. Enforcement works you just need to do your job not help the pols sweep this problem under the rug as this amnesty bill is attempting to do.
Before those immigrant-rights measures could go into effect, the government must deploy 18,000 new Border Patrol agents and four unmanned aerial vehicles; build 200 miles of vehicle barriers, 370 miles of fencing, and 70 ground-based radar and camera towers; provide funds for the detention of 27,500 illegal immigrants a day; and complete new identification tools to help employers screen out illegal job applicants.
Skeptics say those would take years, but Chertoff stressed yesterday that they could be done in 18 months"
What the F? So Mr. Chertoff you are saying you can secure the border in 18 months! What the F have you been waiting for? You are the head of HOMELAND SECURITY do your job and secure the borders you don't need the scam Senate Amnesty bill to secure the borders just do it.

The Immigration insanity of Washington D.C.
"Senate negotiators reached a tentative agreement yesterday on a broad overhaul of the nation's immigration laws that would offer virtually all of the nation's 12 million undocumented workers <[BCP Mainstream media bias alert! should read "illegal immigrant"] a route to legal status while shifting migration preferences away from the extended families of citizens toward more skilled and educated workers."
TRANSLATION: You don't have to respect our laws in the U.S. since you have broken our laws for so many years we will let you stay. Just like we did in 1986. Tell others in your country to do the same because they too will be allowed to stay as long as they hide long enough in the future!
"Under the tentative deal, undocumented workers who crossed into the country before Jan. 1 would be offered a temporary-residency permit while they await a new "Z Visa" that would allow them to live and work lawfully here. The head of an illegal-immigrant household would have eight years to return to his or her home country to apply for permanent legal residence for members of the household, but each Z Visa itself would be renewable indefinitely, as long as the holder passes a criminal background check, remains fully employed and pays a $5,000 fine, plus a paperwork-processing fee."
TRANSLATION: The illegal head of the household would be able to continue to live and work here in the U.S. and his family can keep using social services, sending his children to the local schools after violating U.S. laws before January 1st 2007. Oh yes I almost forgot there is a punitive component. Some time in eight years he has to go back home and visit is family from the country he left and then reenter the United States. Oh and he also has to pay a $5,000 fine and a paperwork fee. Uh huh, meanwhile it will be costing local taxpayers $10,000 per year to educate each of his children. But, of course the Washington pols like Ted Kennedy, John McCain and others who cooked up this deal for the illegals are not concerned about these costs to the local middle class taxpayers.
"To satisfy Republicans, those provisions would come in force only after the federal government implements tough new border controls and a crackdown on employers that hire illegal immigrants. Republicans are demanding 18,000 new Border Patrol agents, 370 miles of additional border fencing and an effective, electronic employee-verification system for the workplace."
Wait a minute wasn't a border fence approved last year? Isn't it illegal for employers to hire illegals today under existing laws? What skillful negotiators those Republicans are. They actually think they got something when they really got nothing! What idiots they are!
"This is not the architecture of an immigration bill that I would have initially liked to see," conceded Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (Mass.), the Democrats' chief negotiator, "but we're not dealing with that. This is a legislative process." -
Limo liberals like Ted Kennedy is going to have a good laugh on his porch in Hyannis Port this summer as he watches the former illegal immigrant cut his lawn knowing that the middle class taxpayer will be subsidizing the cost of the guy for years to come.

It's not only on immigration that the Democrats are selling out the middle class.
http://davidsirota.com/index.php/2007/05/16/talking-trade-on-lou-dobbs/
Another milestone!
Dumbocrats on parade!
"Democratic negotiators agreed. Democratic leaders, who are fighting for the loyalty of the fast-growing Latino electorate, have no desire to embrace legislation that could end up alienating the voters they are trying to woo."
Someone needs to tell these Dumbocrats that they had better start to do what is good for the country and not pander to special interest groups or they may be in for a surprise at the voting booths as the Republicans were during the last election. Maybe this Dear Colleague from Senator Jeff Sessions will show them how flawed the bill they want to debate is and the costs to the American taxpayers.

Policy made behind closed doors does not work!
"We're taking action by taking the first steps toward rules that will make our economy stronger, our environment cleaner and our nation more secure," Bush said."
Excuse me while I spit! Meanwhile, across town the Democrats are doing their own little deal behind closed doors regarding illegal immigration. The back room meetings the Bush Administration held was wrong and the illegal immigration meetings pushed by the Democrats to pass the McCain/Kennedy amnesty bill is wrong also. I'm sure whatever emerges will not be in the best interests of the American taxpayer. Harry Reid will be attempting to push the legislation on illegal immigration to a vote. Someone needs to remind Senator Reid that the illegal immigration issue is to important to America to not have a full debate and allow time for people to look at the bill that emerges from behind closed doors. Perhaps Mitt Romney had the money quote:
"McCain-Kennedy gives benefits to illegals that would cost taxpayers millions. And more importantly: Amnesty didn't work 20 years ago, and it won't work today."

A shout out to Texas Branch and a shout at Congress!
"FARMERS BRANCH, Texas -- Voters in this Dallas suburb became the first in the nation Saturday to prohibit landlords from renting to most illegal immigrants."
"It says especially to Congress that we're tired of the out-of-control illegal immigration problem. That if Congress doesn't do something about it, cities will," said Tim O'Hare, a City Council member who was the ordinance's lead proponent.
It certainly does send a message! The question is is Congress and President Bush going to listen?

What the middle class community will see but, Washington does not!
"Elsa DeLeon, a Honduran immigrant, was cited for overcrowding in February by county inspectors who found that her basement on Hanover Avenue in Springfield had been illegally divided into four bedrooms. She said the county is interfering with her right to care for her large extended family."
What about respecting the law? Is that to much to ask of these "new" immigrants?
But, Harry Gault sumed it up best:
"I don't mind an Hispanic neighborhood," said Gault, 73. "But they've turned a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home into a nine-room boarding house."
Coming home!

Hispanic Journalism BS!
"NAHJ is concerned with the increasing use of pejorative terms to describe the estimated 11 million [Illegals] undocumented people living in the United States. NAHJ is particularly troubled with the growing trend of the news media to use the word “illegals” as a noun, shorthand for "illegal aliens". Using the word in this way is grammatically incorrect and crosses the line by criminalizing the [illegal] person, not the action they are purported to have committed. NAHJ calls on the media to never use “illegals” in headlines."
What journalistic nonsense! The illegal immigrants DID break the law when they entered the country ILLEGALLY. They are criminals but, thanks to lack of enforcement by those failure of the folks in the Federal Government have not been caught yet.

Lou Dobbs is right! Again!
"And the mainstream media are complicit in advancing this thinly veiled blanket amnesty. Instead of asking and answering important questions about why our immigration laws aren't being enforced and why we're permitting pervasive document fraud, the national media seem hell-bent on trying to obfuscate the issue, shamelessly playing with language, equating legal immigration with illegal immigration while obviously trying to preserve the illusion of objectivity."- Lou Dobbs
The You Tube footage of a cameraman for KPRC an NBC affiliate seems to bear that out. You have to wonder what kind of newsroom ethics and feelings about illegal immigration occur in the Newsroom of stations like KPRC that allow a news gathering cameraman to feel that it ok to fly the flag of another country like Mexico while covering a demonstration on illegal immigration. It should make the American public wonder that perhaps as Lou Dobbs points out that they may not be giving us the whole story.

That sucking sound continues out of our wallets.
While that may actually be good news for Americans to know that less money is leaving local communities and being sent out of the country. It still does not change the fact that middle class taxpayers are still subsidizing the illegal immigrant workforce. As this money quote from a recent report from F.A.I.R. shows:
"Analysis based on current estimates of the illegal alien population residing in New York indicates that population is costing the state’s taxpayers more than $5.1 billion per year for education, medical care and incarceration. That annual tax burden amounts to about $874 per New York household headed by a native-born resident. Even if the estimated $730 million in sales, income and property taxes collected from illegal immigrants are subtracted from the fiscal outlays, net costs still amount to more than $4.5 billion per year. "- FAIR
So the lower remittances being sent out of the country immigrants will not be good news until the money flowing out of U.S. taxpayers wallets like those of us in New York also gets lower.
-
